It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Pulling into the parking lot, we weren't sure what to expect, this place blends right into its surroundings and gives major "if you know, you know" energy. It's literally next to a collector's shop. Walking inside felt like stepping into an old movie, very cozy, dim, and full of character. Booth seating is limited, so we started at a small table with the option to move once a booth opened up. Drinks in hand, we took in the scene and quickly realized this spot has karaoke and a loyal group of regulars who bring the entertainment. We ordered pan seared ahi and potato skins to start, and once we moved to a booth, the food arrived. The ahi was fresh and surprisingly good, especially for my first time trying it. The potato skins were classic and paired perfectly with our drinks. For entrées, we both went with the ribeyes and chose baked potatoes as our sides. The steaks came out tender, juicy, flavorful and honestly far better than we expected. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid‑bite and look at each other like, "Wait... this is actually delicious." And the pricing? Perfect. Almost unbelievable for the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Between the great steaks, friendly staff, lively atmosphere, and the chance to just relax and enjoy each other's company, this place delivered exactly what we needed. We'll definitely be back.

I'm glad I didn't listen to myself, and we went in and had a great experience. I would say that this place is like an old-fashioned steakhouse, dark, but comfortable. The bar area seemed to be occupied by regulars, as did several of the booths and tables in the dining area. We met Lisa & Dave, the owners, and Lisa waited on us, while Dave was tending the bar. We started with two Old Fashioned cocktails, one a Crème Brûlée and the other a Blackberry. Both were unique, outstandingly delicious, and at $9 each, a real steal. So much so, we shared a second Crème Brulé Old Fashioned. FOOD: They started us off with a complimentary basket of Cheesy Garlic Bread. We ordered the Sautéed Mushrooms ($14) to share. My mother-in-law got the Lamp Burger ($13) served with fries, and my wife and I both ordered the Prime Rib (Queen Cut $37) served with veggies & fries. We both got the side salad, but I also ordered a cup of Chili Verde soup ($5). I asked for a side of blue cheese dressing and received a small cup of the homemade blue cheese dressing using Gorgonzola which was fantastic! We finished it off with their Brown Butter Cake ($10) served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I can't begin to emphasize how delicious everything was, and the service was top notch. I guess the lesson is, don't judge a book by its cover (or the parking lot). We had a delicious meal, fantastic cocktails, and excellent service. We'd most definitely return for another visit. Check it out!

Great customer service even though I'm not a regular. It's spacious with a huge projector screen for central viewing, as well as other standard big screens all around the walls. Even though we were strangers, there was an instant connection. Best of all, the Niners won! I won't credit Red Fox for that, just the pinpoint arm of Brock Purdy. But the fun ambiance certainly buoyed the celebratory mood! The building is surrounded by a huge parking lot with a plethora of spaces. Why are we so devoid of real estate and parking in NorCal? The Red Fox is a great place to watch any game or just hang out. If I lived in the community, this would definitely be one of my regular haunts.

Unfortunately, the service experience started off a bit disjointed, as we felt noticeably rushed by our waitress to place our order. When it comes to the menu, be aware that there are no sushi rolls without cream cheese. This is a significant limitation that makes selecting food difficult if you prefer a cleaner, more traditional sushi profile, effectively forcing you to pivot toward the mariscos. Despite those constraints, the kitchen generally delivers excellent flavor balance and solid execution: Tuna Tostada: A standout. It's a simple dish, but the flavor profile is fantastic, showcasing an exceptionally well-balanced mix of spice and lemon citrus. Aguachiles Ranch: Another strong mariscos dish. It packed a great amount of spice with a highly enjoyable, vibrant flavor profile. Fish & Shrimp Tacos: The kitchen's frying technique was spot-on. Both proteins were perfectly battered, and the portion sizes were generous. Aguachilito Roll: A bit of a mixed bag. The accompanying salsa negra was absolutely perfect, hitting that ideal harmony of lime and spice. However, the technique on the roll itself fell short--the sushi rice was noticeably hard on several of the cuts. Kids Meal: The chicken nuggets were solid. The toddler ate without a single complaint, which is always a win. Strong flavor profiles, perfectly battered tacos, and excellent mariscos, but the overall experience is held back slightly by rushed service, hard sushi rice, and a frustrating overreliance on cream cheese in the sushi rolls.
