Went for my first appointment today and after reading the reviews I see small things that are still prevalent in the Doctors demeanor, but nothing that would prevent me from going back. He seems eccentric and extremely smart so perhaps people mistake that for being rude or having bad bedside manner? I'm not sure but I didn't find him rude at all. I tried to not let the bad reviews mold my opinion and focused on business. He did introduce himself to me and I felt he paid attention to me while I spoke. I'm a migraine sufferer and they keep getting worse. I was given some sample meds to try and two scripts. He took the time to talk to me, exam me, ask a lot of questions about my headaches and frequency, so I was satisfied with the visit. I will be going back. They have a migraine room in another office. I found that interesting and will definitely be trying that out. read more

My wife has been having seizures daily. I have been taking her to Dr. Barry. We have messaged and called the office several times about her seizures and we FINALLY received a message back saying, RELAX. Are you fucking kidding me? Relax?!?! My heart stops every time she has a seizure out of fear I will lose her. read more

Absolutely AWFUL. First of all, making an appointment in the first place was terrible. I called their office multiple times and was sent to voicemail for over an hour each time and I was left unanswered. I also sent multiple messages in the portal and was finally replied to on the 6th one! Then, when I finally made an appointment to see Dr. Kahlon, he told me that my chronic pain was "just anxiety," and when I asked him if there are any other professionals I should see to try and determine the cause of my pain, he told me to see a psychiatrist. Later, I found out from a rheumatologist that my chronic pain was being caused by a genetic connective tissue disorder. So... not anxiety . He also dismissed me and essentially told me I was making up symptoms I was having after being prescribed muscle relaxers. Fun fact, the aforementioned connective tissue disorder causes unusual side effects to muscle relaxers... even though it didn't end up being a neurological issue, his dismissal of my pain and my symptoms was extremely unprofessional. Avoid this doctor at all costs. read more

It seems some doctors in the medical field have become so desensitized that they've become outright cruel and I was shocked and horrified that my experience at KHB showed such lack of professionalism. The only saving grace is the kindness of the front office staff. However, it does not offset the dismissiveness, coldness, full blown symptom ignoring by the medical physicians themselves. If you want to feel like you're in an assembly line and nothing more than a date of birth then sure, this is a great fit. If you want any kind of consideration, kindness, understanding, compassion, and actual HELP then unfortunately, disappointingly, and sadly, KHB is not the place for you. read more

So far, I've only been here twice. I do like Dr Shah, he seems to understand my concern with migraines and treating me with seizures. The front desk ladies are super nice and friendly, I really do like their attitude. Though, recently when I went on the 5th, I met Muna, a nurse practitioner I guess and my goodness she was the worst I've met. She was dismissive of my concern, and didn't even explain about my new prescription and put pressure on me to make a decision to help my case when I have no idea what's happening. It was also disrespectful seeing her pull out her phone in front of me, it seemed like she was recording or something. This practice is awful. They don't care about their patients and patient care. They pick and choose which customers they require full SSN from. Patient's privacy should be taken into consideration, but they want to float a from across the office to multiple employees that do not need access to this information. Doctor's offices are one of the top places for identity theft and they are unwilling to compromise. If referred here look elsewhere as the office staff is incredibly rude. They even tried to charge me a no show fee when I as at the office and was unwilling to provide my SSN. read more

We finished our one and only visit with Kane Hall Barry Neurology in the Keller, TX office. James Barry, MD is the worst doctor I've ever had interactions with. He's rude, callus, and lacks all bedside manners as a functioning MD. It's hard to imagine him not socially dysfunctional even outside of his profession. I had yet another extremely disappointing and distressing experience with Dr. Nirav C. Shah, MD. From the moment I entered the office, Dr. Shah treated me with rudeness and disrespect. Despite his knowledge of my symptoms and medical history, which included having undergone ACDF surgery and the nerve/muscle testing (which was normal) he refuses to consider any diagnosis other than a nerve issue without considering any other possibilities. During the appointment I began crying as I tried to explain the ongoing pain and discomfort I was still experiencing. Instead of showing empathy or understanding, Dr. Shah continued to speak to me in a patronizing manner, dismissing my concerns and talking down to me as if I were a child. Despite my clear and persistent complaints about tension headaches, Dr. Shah outright refused to provide any treatment or even acknowledge this legitimate issue. It was abundantly clear that he was more interested in asserting his own opinions than listening to my lived experiences and addressing my health needs. The emotional toll of this encounter was profound. I left Kane, Hall, Barry feeling utterly disregarded and humiliated. The misdiagnosis and lack of compassion shown by Dr. Shah exacerbated my stress and anxiety unnecessarily.He requested that I provide updates on my progress with the prescribed medications through the portal over the upcoming weeks. I followed his instructions and sent a message as requested after the first week. His response IN ALL CAPS was basically calling me an idiot, accusing me of being incompetent and not following directions, when in reality, I had been diligently adhering to his instructions. I strongly caution anyone seeking compassionate and competent medical care to avoid Dr. Shah. His unprofessional behavior, lack of empathy, and dismissiveness toward patient concerns are simply unacceptable in any healthcare setting. And according to all of the negative reviews I have read, I am not the only one who feels this way! read more

This place has messed up my treatment 2 years in a round for Botox with Hemifacial spams. Insurance plans run Jan to Dec but wanted me to pay more out of pocket because they set up my treatment from June to June. So on my appointment in November ask me to pay extra while in office. Botox department is poorly ran now I stuck finding another provider. Will not recommend them ever. read more

Went to Kane hall Berry. Saw Dr Arif. My co pay was $20.00 which I paid. The Dr would not do the procedure needed for my migraine headaches sent by my neurologist at UTSW. Instead he prescribed a anti depressants and 3 vitamins. I started the medication and it affected my motor skills and ability to drive. I stopped the medication and the brain fog was gone. I get my Bill and was charged $8.00 charge for a behavioral assessment which I was not told of the additional charge. I called the office and they stated they did not know what the Dr did and said my insurance covered a portion of the fee. They said I owed the additional amount and they would not credit my account the $4.46 additional charge I owed. The person I spoke with said there was not any thing she could do. This was a fraudulent charge added to my bill with out my permission. Doctors like this commit fraud on billing to pad their account. They are grifters who add to your bill without you even knowing about it! This is a prime reason why Medicare is so expensive. I canceled my future appointment and will never go back to this Dr, they don't care about their patients. They only care about how much money they can scam from me and my insurance co. I'm on a fixed income and the additional cost takes food from my table. I do not recommend Kane hall berry NEROLOGIST. They could care less about the patient and are rude and disrespectful to the customer!! I will never go back to them. I will go back to UTSW. read more

The only star is for Dr. Hussain who was nice. That's it. In a nutshell: Weeks after a round of shots, my pain never improved. I mentioned this in a comment via the portal and was told to give it more time. Over a month later, after leaving voice messages, messages with real people, and messages via the portal, a muscle relaxer was called into my pharmacy. By that time I already told the office manager I was no longer a patient. I've tried canceling an upcoming appointment but I am still getting reminders about it and being told if I don't show up, I will be billed. This morning I received an email with a link to a bill, but there isn't a bill. I called to leave a voicemail (it's a Saturday) and I had to sit on hold. this is the thing with their phone system: you wait for up to 5 minutes just to get to voicemail. I told multiple people in writing, voicemail, and directly, to please leave detailed information about next steps for my pain if they got my voicemail, or to reply to my portal messages. They continued to leave, "Call us back" voicemails, which contributed to days of phone tag -- in part because you can't reach a live person. after all my messages, it wasn't until I left a negative review on Google did anyone respond to my pleas for pain relief. The office manager I spoke to acknowledged their phone system is bad, which is why I told her I was angry with people ignoring my explicit request to leave detailed messages or write in the portal. she said they aren't allowed to leave detailed messages but I said I gave permission multiple times. Also, I want to make clear that there were only 2 times someone left me a voicemail, despite my multiple requests for responses. And my phone log does not show any missed calls from them. Both calls were the messages that said to call them back. I am beyond angry with the lack of concern and urgency given my needs. I am still in extreme pain while trying to find and get into another doctor. My recommendation: find someone else. The doctors may be wonderful, but if no one tells them you're begging for relief, it's moot. read more

There should be a zero star option for this place. My family member went here in 2019 to see Dr. Barry. She was complaining of headaches, dizziness and other neurological issues. After a few visits Dr Barry told her "there is nothing I can do for you" however, he continued to strongly encourage her to continue coming to see him for some strange reason. Dr Barry did nothing and my family member discontinued seeing him. After some time passed I found another doctor at UT Southwestern on behalf of my family member. This new doctor immediately noticed strong signs of Parkinson's Disease. This new doctor quickly scheduled important scans and did an extensive investigation. This new doctor asked who we had seen previously regarding our concerns and we declined to tell him. He asked if he could guess and we said sure ok. On his first guess, he guessed Kane Hall Barry. Our new doctor stated he has seen quite a few patients who come to him after poor service from Kane Hall Barry. He even said they never added any charts into a system for all doctors to review nor did they ever perform any brain imaging or scans. To my heartbreak, it was to late. The family member soon passed away from an aggressive cousin of Parkinson's called MSA, Multiple Systems Atrophy. I can't help but day dream and wonder what would be different and would my family member still be here today had Dr Barry actually done his job.... Additionally, I spoke on the phone to the staff while my family member was a patient here and they were extremely arrogant. I recommend staying as far away from Kane Hall Barry as possible. Heck, I wouldn't even drive by this place. read more

Don't use this office, Dr Shah ordered imaging that he wanted immediately. after 3 hours the staff hadn't sent the orders to imaging, numerous calls were made and a return trip to the office, the very unhelpful front desk lady said to go to the E.R. if we wanted it done today. we will never use this office agai. read more

I am giving one star because it won't let me leave zero. My daughter went today for migraines which have changed in frequency, intensity, and duration. Rather than actually do any testing or speak with her about her debilitating headaches, the doctor told her that "women just get migraines" and spent the entire visit trying to figure out what was wrong with her face (she still has no clue what he was looking for). He was extremely rude and dismissive. Then he gave her a prescription for migraines (which she told him she has had before and which was completely ineffective). Then he told her to come back in a month. Ummm... no thank you. We don't actually pay doctors to be dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional, but thanks anyway. read more

I would give this office zero stars if possible. My husband saw Dr Shah with memory loss issue. The first visit was what I would say indifferent. That was his attitude. Dr shah appeared impatient. Asking same question a couple of times. Very difficult to understand due to his accent and wearing a mask. When asked for further explaination, his assistant answered for him. On the patient plan there were a couple of tests he requested. One of them required the staff to set up. Several un-returned calls to do this,,so the next office visit with Dr shah. I told him, his staff was not returning calls His response was to call the off site testing center myself. Which I did immediately only to find out that the test needed to be scheduled by his staff ( round and round in circles we go) first visit on 11/28/22, and still unable to set up testing 6 weeks later. Additionally, $30 spent to have his medical staff handle disability paperwork. Completely incompetent. Numerous calls between Kane, Hall, Barry to get paperwork pushed between their office and MetLife. Letter today 1/31/23 from MetLife stating disability denied but to lack of patient info and un-returned calls from their office. Awaiting tests results for possible AlZ which of course we were very anxious about. 4 weeks later, after test results and NOT ONE SINGLE CALL from the doctor. To alleviate our anxiety, I found the test results ( negative ) online. Today find out that the disability has been denied bc doctor has yet to look at results and give patient absence dates.. Ridiculous incompetence on their part, from the doctor to the medical biz end. The only ppl who answer are the ones very quick to set up appt and get you in their office. read more

I see my review was removed so I'll post again. I went a few weeks ago and saw Dr. Arif. He was very dismissive from the moment he walked in the room. I should have ended the appointment right then but being desperate for help, I tried to not focus on his horrible bedside manner and explained my symptoms to him. He notated "poor effort" on my chart and ordered some tests I guess to appease me. When I called the following day for an explanation of what he meant by "poor effort", he told me that he didn't think I tried hard enough and if I didn't like it to find a new doctor. The office manager responded to my first yelp review with her phone number but I really think if this office cared about losing patients I would have received a phone call from her. If you're looking for a doctor that cares, DON'T go here. And Stacey, you can call me if you'd like to refund my $60 co-pay. Kane, Hall, Barry was highly recommended to help me deal with migraines (of which I had never had before) that became chronic for several months. I have had no history of them but it runs in my family. I saw Dr. Arif. When I tried to describe my issues, concerns, and desire to find out why they were occurring, he was VERY RUDE AND DISMISSIVE. He immediately wanted me to take a prescription even though I said I wanted to find the source before resorting to medicine. I drove 2 1/2 hours for that appointment, missing work, to be disappointed and insulted. I continued to search for answers as to why I had chronic migraines and discovered it was two things - an issue with a neck injury and an allergy to a pet in my home. Today I no longer have migraines and am not on medication. I asked for a solution not a bandaid, but Dr. Arif treated me like a number not a person. DON'T use this clinic! read more

Our son has been seeing Dr. Shaw for a year now for his seizure disorder. Dr. Shaw is caring, empathetic, and thorough. He did a lot of testing to rule out any other issues, listened to our concerns, and cares about his patients. The medication he prescribed is doing its job, as he has been seizure-free for a year. Getting medication refills have been ahead of schedule and hassle-free. I highly recommend this Neurology practice as everyone has been patient and caring. read more

Dr. Ansari has been a blessing in my 16yo sons life. He suffered for over 6 months from Back pain that radiates to his torso and chest. He was even hospitalized at Cooks Childrens in Fort Worth where they couldn't explain or treat his pain. We went to two other spine doctors and they both referred us to Kane, Barry, Hall. After our initial consult, Dr. Ansari was appalled at all the hard medication my son was on. He said he wanted to try a conservative approach and the goal is to get him off of all the meds. After trying one other medication - Dr. Ansari found one that not only worked, but he will be able to live a normal life and soon will be completely off of it. Dr. Ansari did a complete nerve study, read the MRIs and treated my son within two visits. Now 3 months later, I have my boy back! He's playing soccer again and enjoying life and doing well in school again! It's such a blessing to have found a doctor that really listened to him and worked with what is best for him and doing it safely! So lucky that we came here! read more

If a half star was an option, I'd give it! I just paid $85 to stare at a wall while Dr. Barry made faces at his frozen computer. He kept looking at the door like he wanted to be anywhere but with his patient. He wasn't happy that I was put on my original prescription that's worked for most of my life. I've had a chronic headache for a long time and wanted to talk about it instead of living on ibuprofen. He didn't want to talk about It! All he said was probably not migraines because it wouldn't be constant. Dr. Barry agreed if it ain't broke, don't fix it and said I don't have to come back for a year. He set up prescriptions for a year BUT, it's not the exact same thing I'm taking. It's a different form that's $60 more! I won't be buying that! I have the green light for another year. Really digging in to my issues to find solutions. He has personally called me multiple times to go over results or to check on my well being. This place WILL help you. Came here for severe pain and they were able to give me relief on my first visit. Deborah Stapel was amazing and very caring. She asks all kinds of questions and made me feel like she really wanted to help me. I will never go anywhere else! If you have any pain issues this is the place to go. They changed my appointment twice and then when I finally get in, they refuse to see me unless I give them $450 up front even with Insurance. I had to take off from work for this appointment and it is extremely hard to get time off! They refused to bill me so I lost money to go to an appointment that I could have to begin with! The office staff in Keller is very nice but when I went to see Dr. Barry for the first time he made weird faces the whole time and judged me off of past cause of certain medications I was on and wanted to me to follow up with another doctor to do testing which is understandable and since I didn't want to do the testing HE wanted me to do he terminated me which makes no since you want me to go to a place where they take me off my seizure meds and watch me have a seizure to tell me what type umm no I already know I'm epeptic. I am 56 years young, eat a healthy diet, and work out 4-5 days a week. In February, I had an ear and sinus infection for the very first time. I saw an ENT on a Monday and started medications. The day I started the medications, I noticed my hands started tingling. The following day, it started spreading to my arms and my feet. I saw my primary doctor and stopped the medications. The signs worsened to the point that I could not walk. I had severe ataxia and numbness and tingling in all my limbs. Over several days, I saw my primary twice and had an emergency room visit that Saturday. The ER doctor had no idea what was wrong with me, sent me home unable to walk, and told me to see a neurologist. I did research on the Internet and called Kane Hall Barry Neurology in Keller, Texas at 8:00am on a Monday. They were amazing! I was seen by Dr. Sharique Ansari that afternoon and again the following morning for nerve tests. He knew exactly what I had, and he had me admitted to a hospital within hours of my appointment. I was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome. By the time I was admitted, I had numbness from my chest down. I am so thankful for Dr Ansari. He is my hero! Thanks to him I am now recovering after being in the ICU/PACU for a week and an inpatient rehab for three weeks. If it wasn't for Dr. Ansari, I would have ended up on a respirator and in much worse shape. I also would have most likely ended up with permanent disabilities. Thank you Dr. Ansari for your professionalism, expertise, and compassion. You are a blessing. read more
