carlos assisted me with my intro session, as i wanted to start with cold plunge and end with sauna…read more you get 15 min in the cold plunge room, with a shower right next to it, and in the sauna room you get an hour, also shower in room. i don't mind switching rooms, actually i likely prefer it, and they do have a little beauty bar in the back with blowdryers, straighteners and mirrors to put yourself together after your session. the sauna session was so amazing, it's set at 147 but you can adjust it up to 170. the cold plunge was my first one, it was difficult but i got the hang of it. it did worry me a bit that there were a lot of oils in the water and a hair that clearly wasn't blonde in it... i was told from my intro session if i signed up same day i'd get $40 off the membership. i looked through all the options, committed to the 2x monthly package, then was told that was the only package that didn't include the discount. no big deal but it shouldn't have been the first thing advertised. I mentioned that I might want to cancel because it is a bit far for me to travel on a regular basis, but I wanted to see if it was worth it to prioritize into my schedule. they didn't make it clear how to cancel. I've been two more times and there's always some oils in the cold plunge tubs which makes me hesitant, but the private infrared sauna suites are amazing and 100% worth it.

Until now I had traveled to Chelsea just to find a decent steam bath. I finally heard about Nordic Oasis in Marblehead, and decided to give it a try. It was an incredible solution to all my needs. I started in their incredible barrel sauna, and was able to work up a great body cleansing sweat in a short period of time. I then went directly to the cold water plunge. They have two units, one set at 55 degrees and the other at 45 degrees. I opted for the 45 degree plunge, and immediately felt the healing power of the cold water. It was clean, private, and incredibly soothing. I followed the cold water plunge with the unique solar blankets that Nordic Oasis provides. It was 45 minutes of peaceful meditation under the warm soothing blanket. When I was finished I felt like a new man. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable, and the space clean an well organized. I recommend it highly for anyone looking for hot and cold therapy to ease your aching muscles, and relax your mind.

This kind is the far infrared chamber where you lie down. It was nice! They are really generous with providing a layer of clean, fresh towels covering the entire bed and pillow. I wasn't sure if it would be too hot. It turns out it was so relaxing I fell asleep in like 10 minutes!! I think since my head was out of the chamber, the heat was tolerable and I woke up drenched in sweat!! I had that buzzy endorphin feel after working out! David and his mother who run it are really nice, helpful and passionate about what they do. David was able to explain the whole process and how the far infrared sauna works. They both were really kind and happily took the my time answering questions. It was not packed, but they were steadily busy when I went. I fall asleep really easily so I did not have any issue with background noise, but for folks who are light sleepers you might want to bring ear plugs, but they also provide them for you if you forgot to bring them. I honestly didn't know what to expect coming here and when I first saw the pricing online I thought it was a little pricey, but the pure professionalism of this place is just too good, not to mention the health benefits of the sauna itself. Sophia, the shop owner, is incredibly warm and welcoming. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her products. Being from the UK, she designed the shop and products to be reminiscent of a classic British apothecary store. I got two of their candles for Christmas and both smell amazing. Their best seller, Smells Like Anthropologie, actually smells better than the store in my opinion. The other candle I have, Amber Noir, is also wonderful. I would definitely like to try out different scents in the future. They also have a variety of skincare, aromatherapy, and CBD products. Most, if not all, of their products are also available on their website. Of course I'd recommend visiting in store, but given the state of the world now with COVID-19 online ordering is a great option.
