All I can say is wow. This was my first time trying out a sauna/ice plunge and honestly, I was super nervous about it. It actually turned out to be a super cool and relaxing experience. I haven't felt this calm/relaxed in a long time. The ambience is very elevated and nice. When you enter the spa, there is a large table with seats for people to sit down and enjoy some tea or light bites. In the facilities, you have access to a dry sauna, steam sauna, locker room, ice baths and showers. There is also the option to get a massage for an additional price. Definitely worth trying this experience out at least once if you're interested!

Today my mother and I visited Kelo Spa in Newton. I had been there several times before and always left with an amazing experience. My mother had been wanting to visit this spa for a long time, especially after my recommendations. However, today's visit left us with mixed feelings. Since it was a weekday, there were hardly any guests. The receptionist greeted us with a stone-faced expression. When we greeted her in Russian, she responded in English and continued the entire conversation in English. This was not an issue for us, so we also switched to English (perhaps there was a new policy in place). However, during my previous visit, another receptionist greeted us with a smile and spoke Russian with us without any problem. We were given locker keys, went to the common area, and expected to be offered a menu to place a pre-order, but that never happened. We had to go to the bar counter ourselves to place an order. During my previous visit, the receptionist brought the menu herself, explained which dishes were popular, then gave us a tour of the spa, showing us all the areas and informing us about additional services. This time, we had to ask the cleaning staff where everything was located (who, by the way, spoke Russian without any issue), while the receptionist did not accompany or guide us at all. We got the impression that we were being deliberately ignored, even though we were the only guests there! Instead of staying for the full three hours, we spent only two and decided to leave early.Administration did NOT provided us with a tour incide the spa area, the staff did NOT interact with us while we were there, and no one asked if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our visit. We were simply given a locker key at the beginning and a bill at the end. Meanwhile, the staff were comfortably having lunch in the common area, chatting pleasantly with each other, while we felt completely ignored. Additionally, when we arrived, we had to wait about 20 minutes while the staff were doing some internal work in the hammam and steam room. We weren't informed whether we could enter or if we were supposed to wait, and if so, for how long. No one approached us to say: "Dear guests, we are currently performing sanitation procedures, it will take approximately this amount of time. May we offer you something while you wait?" THAT is what proper service should look like--not guests being left on their own, guessing what to do. There was a complete lack of communication with the customer. I had been there once before, but this was my mother's first visit. My question is: was I supposed to conduct the tour myself and explain where everything is, or is that the responsibility of the administrator? We got the impression that we were being deliberately ignored, even though we were the only guests there! Instead of staying for the full three hours, we spent only two and decided to leave early. I would like to emphasize that the spa itself, all its zones, and the supplies are fantastic--everything is clean, and the temperature in the saunas is perfect--but the staff's attitude was disappointing. As we were leaving, we saw the employees having lunch in the common area, speaking to each other in Ukrainian. I do not want to assume language-based discrimination or any other type of discrimination, but the lack of basic customer service toward us was obvious. We sincerely hope this issue will be addressed, as I myself work in the beauty industry and would never allow any discriminatory behavior toward clients--whether based on language, race, or nationality--as I am originally from Kazakhstan.

The space here was great, very relaxing overall. It was a busy day and sometimes the sauna and steam room were so packed. It also would've been nice if there was a hot tub to complement the cold plunge.

The next day I went to finally try the sauna, which I was very excited about since pretty much all saunas at gym locations were off limits due to covid, which not only do they clean the rooms, but they also place fresh new towels even if you don't use them, they also sanitize everything, so you don't have to worry about covid at this place. When I got there I was greeted by the man behind the desk (didn't get his name) and not only was he nice, but also very professional. Once it was time to go to the room he explained to me how it works and they gave me extra time since it was my first to get relaxed and understand the heating controls. Once the session was over I was asked how I felt and I was made sure I enjoyed my time. I wasn't pressured to get a membership or anything... I honestly didn't know what to expect coming here and when I first saw the pricing online I thought it was a little pricey, but the pure professionalism of this place is just too good, not to mention the health benefits of the sauna itself. I absolutely recommend this place!

I think since my head was out of the chamber, the heat was tolerable and I woke up drenched in sweat!! I had that buzzy endorphin feel after working out! David and his mother who run it are really nice, helpful and passionate about what they do. David was able to explain the whole process and how the far infrared sauna works. They both were really kind and happily took the my time answering questions. It was not packed, but they were steadily busy when I went. I fall asleep really easily so I did not have any issue with background noise, but for folks who are light sleepers you might want to bring ear plugs, but they also provide them for you if you forgot to bring them. I didn't need them. In the front they also sell crystals, drinks to hydrate, gifts and other fun stuff. Thank you!

The spa is in a business building; not what you would expect, but upon entering his suite; it was cozy and typical of a spa. We opted to both be in the sauna and cold plunge and then individually go in for massages once our sauna session was up. Sauna and adjoining room were clean upon arrival. Cold plunge tub was filled as we spoke (not ice cold, but cold enough for beginners). He reviewed protocol with us and left the room for us. Massages were individual and allowed us to utilize the sauna while the other was getting a massage. He was professional and it was a great massage. Pricing was extremely reasonable and we will be back. We normally go to Fire and Ice in Dedham, but they lack an in room cold plunge, which we really enjoy in combination with the sauna experience. The regulars told me they've never experienced such heat before, so what I experienced wasn't the norm. I did feel very rejuvenated though. Winters usually dry out my skin, but this session made me feel great again. I'd even take breaks in the outdoor lounge, sitting by the fire pit, in a bathing suit, in the dead of winter, surrounded by snow. It was quite the scene. Like a mobile, makeshift version of what I had done in northern Sweden. You can book an hour or 2, and they have packages for multiple visits per month. I'm not sure if they're here every season or if the location will find its permanent residence here, but if you're someone who enjoys a sweat session, I'd say give it a go!
