It's always a tradition to get pedicures when I'm hanging out with my bestie. This is the 2nd time we've been in Tallahassee and we decided to try out a different spa from our visit last year. I found this place online and was sold based on the website alone. I went back and forth via email trying to make appointments for pedicures. They don't seem to check their email often so that was a little frustrating. Oh, and they don't have a spa menu on their website so they may want to look into that. I finally called them to book the appointments and they needed a credit card to book. But they won't charge. You can pay any way you want the day of service. The spa is located in the bustling Midtown area. The entrance leads you to their front area which is the store part. They sell lots of high quality health, spa and beauty items and accessories. These aren't your run of the mill drugstore brands so expect to spend extra $$. There is a door that leads to the spa area and pedicure/manicure stations. It's a nice sized room with 2 pedicure chairs with the most comfortable chairs I've ever had a pedi in! There are windows looking out on the main street and I loved the natural light coming in. There is also a chandelier hanging which makes this place pretty luxe. Kayla did my pedi and she had that very important skill of chatting while doing my pedi which was great since she didn't fall behind or take longer than the norm. The techs were also nice enough to squeeze us in for last minute manicures which was super appreciated! It ended up costing $65 for both a mani and pedi before tip. Money very well spent in my opinion. I think this may be our designated Tallahassee spa for the future! Check them out if you plan to be in the area but make sure to book them early for spa services. read more

They have one person who does pedicures. She only works one or two days a week here but also works at, I believe Royal. Hard to book a pedi here as they don't do weekends. For someone who woks a standard office job it's frustrating to feel like you need to take off during the week for a pedi. I got a great pedi here the one day that I went...but just can't take the time off during the week to get another. Shame. I don't like Royal because even after booking with a specific person they change you to someone else. read more

Loved Suha- the esthetician who did my facial! She had a a gentle and light touch which made me totally relaxed, even throughout the extraction process. She also gave me helpful tips on skincare! I scheduled a massage appointment at the end of my summer session at FSU. I was having a lot of muscle tension and lower back pain, I almost couldn't concentrate at school. Had a massage here last weekend and it was fantastic! The masseuse was so kind and really listened to what I wanted. I told her my stress tends to be held in my shoulders and back and she spent most of the massage working on those areas, always encouraging my feedback so that she didn't hurt me. The space is cute, clean, and well decorated. I was really impressed with their boutique. They have a great (and varied) selection of everything from candles to baby clothes. I recently had knee replacement surgery and it was recommended I recieve massage to assist with the pain and swelling. I had Rachael as my massage therapist. I tell you all she was the absolute best. She took great care in massaging the area as well as the other pain relaying areas. I can't say enough about her. She is so good at what she does. I highly recommend anyone go to her and in particular if you are recommended to go for pain assistance, she is the therapist to go too. This is by far the best day spa Tallahassee has to offer! The entire staff is very professional. I got a package massage and facial today. The table was heated and the massage was great! A big bonus was that I got to stay and relax on the table afterwards while they did my facial! It was a sensory experience-lots of different feelings and smells and my skin looks refreshed. Best massage ever by Denise I get a few massages a month but this was far the best I've ever had.... even wrapped my feet in a warm towel during the massage to keep me warm. I live in Tampa (not by choice :() but will definitely be coming back here for a monthly massage! The whole place is very clean and lots of yummy products and the smell is incredible. The product selection rivals any large city and the services are premier. I would highly suggest booking a facial at Kanvas, and trust me, your skin will look beautiful! The ladies in my family drove up to Kanvas during our vacation on the coast. They were able to accommodate all 5 of us at the same time for a wonderful, relaxing massage. My daughter in law enjoyed their prenatal massage and all of us loved our special day together. As soon as I walked into this cozy little makeup boutique I was in love! They have all the high end brands you can't find anywhere else, I was very excited to see they carried Lipstick Queen products and organic skin care/body care lines. What really made this visit enjoyable was the down to earth staff, although you can easily spend $30.00 for a lipstick here, the employees were laid back and friendly, they were sincerely happy to help you and were knowledgable on all the products. Hi, folks. Me again. Two weeks after the Kanvas facial peel I was back in Salt Lake City, Utah, at The Kura Door for a facial (a treat I treat myself to whenever I am in SLC). One thing I found out and researched for Florida and Utah licensing requirements is that to be an esthetician in Florida the esthetician is required to have 260 hours of training and in Utah an apprentice esthetician has to have 800 hours of training, with a master esthetician needing to have 1500 of training. Guess that's why the remarkable difference of my experience at Kanvas versus the day spa in Utah. read more

Kanvas was recommended to me for wedding makeup by the salon Im using for wedding hair. I called the salon and gave my information to someone who said the manager would give me a call. After five days of not recieving a call I called back and gave my information again. After another five days I called again and spoke to someone who was so nice and said they would call the hair salon to see what they could coordinate for day of hair and make-up and then call me back. It has been over a week since then and I have not heard back. The hair salon states they never recieved a call from Kanvas. Luckily, since then I have found someone else to do make-up but I would have loved to use Kanvas had they ever returned my phone calls. read more

It's always a pleasant experience coming to Kanvas. The attendants are always super friendly and generally lovely. Their new location is a huge step up. They carry a wonderful selection of Zoya nail polishes. They offer student discounts :). I've only ever had manicures there but have been thouroughly happy with those experiences. read more
