I believe there's more than one location of this salon, but don't quote me on that just yet. I had always seen this salon whenever I found myself at the Whole Foods plaza. Given that I needed a haircut and a new look for my hair, I wound up trying this salon after my usual salon did not have any appointments available for the day I wanted. Well, no matter - I tried somewhere new and it worked out. Booked an appointment via phone, paid a deposit, and showed up the day of the appointment. I wish I could remember my hair stylist's name as she did a fabulous job and was very nice, but sometimes I just don't remember that sort of thing. Anyway, all that said - my new look was reminiscent of ones I've done in South Florida before, meaning that it felt light, dare I say springy?, and most of all fancy. What I mean by fancy is that it felt like I actually had my hair done versus just a simple cover-up as I've had done in other Tallahassee hair salons. Ultimately loved the experience and would return whenever I'm looking into getting a more elegant up-do done. read more

Two years ago I moved to Midtown but continued to make the drive to Bannerman. However, since my guy is no longer there, I decided to go to the Midtown location which is right around the corner. I'm so happy with Olivia! Just had my second appointment with her and she does an excellent job ! She does beautiful pink and white gel nails and I can't praise her enough. Honestly, you can't go wrong at either of their salons. I gifted my then pregnant daughter-in-law with a Pea in the Pod massage at Bannerman and she just loved it! This was my go to nail salon for a pedicure. Shout out to Jackie and his amazing food recs! Great service and reasonable prices; they do have a $20 deposit when you book your appointment online. That total gets deducted from your final bill after your service. The atmosphere is welcoming. One can't help but strike up conversation with your nail tech, your neighbor and their nail techs. The star deduction is due to lack of staff who know how to do nail art. I had one tech attempt it during a manicure, and she ground my nails too thin. The design wasn't exactly what I had shown her, but I was warned prior that the techs are not proficient. They're great for a basic gel or acrylic set. read more

A few weeks ago I got an express pedicure with an acquaintance and I was so pleased that I booked for a full spa pedicure experience. It was nothing short of amazing! My nail tech Will was kind, thorough and had me yawning from relaxation towards the end of the hour. They also have the best massage chairs I've ever felt. I've lived here for 14yrs and this will now be my go to spot. The atmosphere is also very clean and it doesn't smell of acetone or acrylic like most places. I've been coming here for a few years (off and on) and recently returned more regularly. My first visit back (1/27/25) was with John, who I learned no longer works there. He was AMAZING!!! His attention to detail during my pedicure and nail overlay was top notch! And he interacted with me so well! I returned this past week (3/11/25) for a nail fill and Tina was my tech. She was nice, but quiet. Not a ton of conversation, but when she spoke she was sweet. I'm not too crazy about the paint job on my nails, but it's not complaint-worthy. Paid a whole lot of money for a not so great job. Got a gel pedicure--he didn't even cover my whole nail in spots and there was nail polish on my toes. Got a manicure--he didn't wait long enough for the polish to dry before putting on the next layer. Got my eyebrows waxed--lots of stray hairs to clean up, and whatever they used broke me out in an itchy red rash. Honestly, just feels like they were in a big hurry and I was a casualty of the rush. My favorite part was that they all seemed happy to work there. Unfortunately I won't be back, this was just a huge waste of money. read more
