Dr. Kao came highly recommended by a close friend and I'm so, so happy that she accepts our Delta Dental insurance. My little girl's bottom central incisors erupted when she was around 3-4 months old and while the recommendation was to visit a pediatric dentist at the first sighting of teeth, I ended up waiting until my daughter was around 8 months old. Dr. Kao's office isn't open every single day of the week, but I do appreciate that, as of the writing of this review, she makes herself available on one Saturday a month in addition to the Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays that she's regularly open. It was easy to contact the office via the online submission form on the website and I received a call within 24 hours. We were able to get an appointment not too long after I called and it fit perfectly with my work schedule. The office is so calm and Dr. Kao and her staff also exude confidence and kindness as well. Because it was our first visit, Dr. Kao shared her philosophy of prevention instead of invasive corrective procedures, especially on such young patients. My daughter was not a happy camper because of the new environment and experience, but Dr. Kao was able to balance getting her check-up done while not spending a moment longer than necessary because my daughter was crying. We left with toothpaste and a cute tooth brush, and we could have had a balloon, but I opted out of it because my daughter was on her way to daycare. Just became a patient from a referral from a friend. I am impressed with EVERYTHING so far. The efficiency the team has in their process, the way the techs and the Dr know exactly how to support each other, the CALM atmosphere. My daughter had a few things to have done and she had no anxiety at all, it was amazing. The front desk knows what they need to tell you and explain in regards to payments, insurance atc. I can sing praises all day about Dr Kao and her staff. Today was my sons first visit to see the dentist he's 2.5 years old and due to covid I held off on taking him so I figured he would be extra scared and the whole thing would be a nightmare. Instead I had to peel him away at the end as he was playing ball with the assistant he warmed up to! They took so much time to let him just be, and warm up to his new environment and they knew exactly what to do for little ones to engage them in a way that puts them at ease. Even before our appt a couple months before Dr Kao spent 20 minutes on the phone with me preparing for his visit. Where were dental offices like this when I was a kid? The staff are so welcoming and they are just amazing with kids. The environment is warm and plenty of privacy so the kids don't scare themselves by watching someone else's treatment. Being a parent can be challenging. We try so hard to are best so sometimes I fear getting scolded by the dentist. Not here. Dr. Kao is very understanding and encouraging while still holding firm to her recommendations on how to spare the kids from cavities. And my daughter loves it here! I'll never forget how scared she was her first appointment. Just 1 year old. Having someone looking around her mouth was so foreign to her but Dr. Kao had me hold her, talked to my daughter in a warm voice and remained patient even when she started to cry and wouldn't open her mouth. By the end of it she was smiling, so happy to have her balloon. To this day, she keeps saying she wants to her dentist. She even feigns toothache and says "mommy my tooth hurts, we need to go dentist then I get balloon." Literally, every week she asks to go. Now with covid in our lives, I really appreciate that they space out the appointments so too many people are not in the waiting room at a time and so they have time to sanitize between clients. I know they're taking covid seriously. I love bringing my daughter her and look forward to my son's first appointment. I chose this Pediatric Dentistry for a few reasons, the reviews, they take Delta Dental, And of how close it is to our house. From enrolling as a new patient to my 9 year old sons first appointment with them they have been super friendly and always answered any questions. He enjoyed his first visit (routine cleaning with x-rays), but we had to return for some fillings. My son had a few cavities, but I love Dr. Kao's approach. She doesn't want to traumatize him and made sure that he would trust her. Instead of being invasive trying to take care of all the fillings in one appointment she started of with 2. She continuously asked if he was okay during the fillings, and started off slow. I hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Kao will definitely give my son a different experience! read more

Just took my 15 month old in for her first appointment and I was very pleased with the experience. Dr. Kao and her team were friendly, welcoming, patient, and professional the entire time. They helped entertain my daughter while I filled out the paperwork, and their waiting room has several books, plushies, and other toys to keep kids occupied. They had a movie playing but also offered to turn it off in case I preferred my daughter not watch TV. The office was very quiet and peaceful. They were able to accommodate a same-day change in appointment time to better fit my daughter's nap schedule. The appointment itself was quick and efficient, and Dr. Kao checked several times to see if I had any additional questions. My son is 3 yo and this was our very first dentist experience for him. He mentioned the night before that his left canine was hurting and I noticed a small hole. Jill who worked at the front desk was super kind and helpful. I shared my concern and she was able to get us in the office and registered same day within 1 hour! They used a few different techniques to walk him through the process and keep him distracted. I absolutely love Dr. Kao! she is amazing , kind and gentle . My little guy needed treatment and being his first dental experience we as parents were apprehensive. But little did we know we were in great hands . My son enjoys visiting the office and interacting with the friendly staff. He loves the special GOLD coin he gets for being a good patient so he can choose a prize , and not to mention he also gets stickers and Balloons. Everything is always tidy and clean . The Front office staff are warm and professional they always call to remind us of our appts and our Co pays and answer any questions we may have . Man Dr. Kao is amazing, i am so happy to switch dentist for both my kid to here. Start with other dentist that over charge and make my first child suffered when they put her under laughing gass to remove the cavity. After they finish my child look like a big mess with red swollen mouth and tear all over her face and crazy hair that look like been hit by storm. And after that we decide to look for another one and going to yelp i see Dr. Kao is one street from our house. So we give her a try. Found out she has another cavity. I know right she is prone to cavity. I told my child to be brave only a little hard because i though she would numb her but Dr kao said dont scare her dont even say that it might not hurt at all. Then she fix it and on the middle she found another one ask me if want to remove all . I said go ahead. Omg after finish removing it and fix it all . She came out with happy and nice looking teeth. We had an exceptional experience for our son's first dental appt at Dr Kao's office. What we thought was going to be a difficult time with alot crying and inability to stay seated turned out to be the smoothest appt with NO tears shed.
