So grateful to be sharing this review... I recently took my children 3.5years & 10 years to a dental cleaning with Dr.Franklin. It was such a pleasant experience, I had to share. Walking into the space, it's bright, fun, and extremely clean! They have a nice waiting area with a diverse library, toys, and huge led peg board. There is even a personalized touch for the little patients on the door that welcomes you to the exam rooms. My toddler is a bit sensitive to sounds & unnecessary touch. The hygienist are patient, afirming, and great with kids. They have tons of things to keep them occupied; including screens for playing their favorite shows. Shoutout to the art of distraction! Of course, they end the appointment with info, stickers, and some high quality prizes. My 10 year old was pleasantly surprised with the invisible ink pen offering. I was so glad when Redwood Pediatric Dentistry opened up. After a failed attempt at another pediatric dentist, I figured it couldn't get any worst. It didn't because Dr Franklin came in and literally saved my stress load of finding a good fit. She is super kind and very patient with the kids. With their care always in mind, she was very thoughtful on how to approach and how to pivot when things went awry. Her staff is wonderful too! The toys and the books immediately excited our 1 year old, who was happy to play until it was our turn to go to the back. In the back, they had more toys and things to acclimate children. I was even more pleasantly surprised by the bathroom with the diaper genie and a great diaper changing station. The staff was super informative, friendly, and gentle. Our baby was definitely anxious about having the tools in his mouth, but the dental assistant was understanding and patient. When Dr Franklin came out, she was so warm and friendly. We had an amazing experience with our 9-month-old who broke a tooth. I can't say good enough things. They were patient, taught us a lot on how to care for her teeth, had a beautiful practice that felt good to be in for adults and kids, and they earned the trust of my child - who is very picky about things going into her mouth - to let them "shave" the broken tooth into shape and get a cleaning! We recently joined Redwood Pediatric Dentistry and cannot be more pleased with them. My six year old needed to get two cavities filled, and Dr. Franklin and her staff were amazing with him. They are patient, kind, professional, and efficient. Their office is clean and designed to appeal to children. For his cavities, they turned what was a traumatic experience for me as a kid, to one where my kid was able to watch Disney plus and enjoy some screen time. Although a cavity is certainly never fun, the process was only mildly uncomfortable and over before he knew it. On another occasion when I had an emergency question on a Sunday evening related to my kid's shark teeth pushing out his wiggly baby tooth in front of it, Dr. Franklin returned my call instantly and guided me through the situation (not an emergency!). My 2 year old son had his first dentist appointment today and it couldn't have gone better. There was a light wall for him to play with in the waiting room and then they quickly brought us back to the dental chair. There was a table with toys for him to play with at the station including a giant dinosaur with a nice set of (fake) teeth and a large toothbrush for him to brush its teeth. Such a great visual! My son didn't sit in the dental chair at all and everyone was so accommodating so he sat in my lap the whole time. No one made an issue of it, they got on his level! The dental chairs did have screens above them for kids to enjoy TV if needed. Everyone was so gentle, loving and kind. They talked to me about his teeth and how we can improve our brushing. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Franklin's practice. The communication beforehand was excellent - easy-to-complete online forms, helpful reminders, straightforward online booking. We were able to get in within a few weeks of calling (vs a few months everywhere else), and Dr. Franklin and her staff were SO nice. She very patiently talked to my kids about their oral hygiene, explained their x rays, and even gave tips for incentivizing good brushing habits. She didn't oversell us and explained the upside and downside of sealant and why it isn't a good value for us at the moment. The staff was equally lovely, and they had TVs preset to their favorite shows. Afterwards, they let the kids spin a wheel for prizes. The whole experience was so thoughtfully designed and helpful.
