I have been insured through A Affordable for about 5 years now. Recently I had a policy cancelled due to nonpayment. I'm not a slacker, I just have a crazy schedule and I missed it. Anyway after dealing with the first part and discovering I needed to sign up with a different insurance company (remember, A Affordable is an AGENCY), I received a call from an employee named Rich M. He actually reached out to me via email, too, so I had the number right in front of me. First thing off the bat was that his hours were great for working people. Not sure if all the agents do this but he was scheduled until 8. So great for me! I called him back on the direct line he had provided and he picked up right away. No phone tree or operators. I had a lot of questions still about why my original policy was canceled. He took the time to look into what had happened, even though I was calling him for a completely different task far down the line. He explained everything to me in a way I could understand before he moved on to signing me up for a new policy. He went ahead, put me on hold and got quotes from the companies A Affordable works with. He came back with the lowest quote, which had nearly doubled from my last policy. Obviously, I was pissed. But, this was not Rich's fault, or A Affordable's fault, or the insurance company's fault. I was the one who had messed up, and now because of the lapse in insurance, my rate was much higher. Rich explained all of that to me. He empathized with me, saying that the same thing had happened to him, and agreed that it sucked. He went through all the processes and explained what to bring to the DMV and what to do afterward. He emailed me electronic forms right then, so I could electronically sign them and send them back immediately. No waiting, no visits to the office. Tomorrow I will go to the DMV and it will be all set. So, even though what happened was shitty, Rich helped me out, didn't make me feel like he was judging me for missing a payment and not realizing for so long, and oddly made me feel better. It was all so convenient. Posting a review is the least I could do for a compassionate guy who made me feel a bit better on a bad day. Thanks Rich!

We tried to get the full picture and additional information about the outstanding bill from Jacob - noone returned our calls, when we called Jacob and his son Avi were always "out for lunch". Their passive/aggressive secretary sent us personal derogatory emails - ridiculous. Emailed Jacob 3 times asking to get to the bottom of this - NONE were answered. We basically ended up footing a bill for 1/3 of our yearly premium for 1.5 month of coverage... Do yourself a favor and find a different insurance company in greater Boston area.

This is laughable. Our agent was Jason Thomas. I have met very few lazier, non-caring employees in my life. Anytime I would need anything I would contact Jay, and every time he would blow it off and make me feel like I was bothering him. And these were BASIC insurance questions, nothing complicated. I had Connell & Curley as my agent to be an in-between so I did not have to sit on the phone for hours with the huge insurance company. Every question was always met with an "I could not care less" attitude, and was always told to do it myself. Why do I pay you then? Why don't I just go through the insurance carrier? I left about a year ago, and have had such a better experience elsewhere. Back in the day, this place had the best customer service. Then they lost their way. The owner seems more concerned about making Instagram videos and shameless self-promotion, then actually seeing what is going on in her company. She is clueless about how bad it is. I always stayed with this company due to being a longtime customer, and due to the way that it used to be. I also like to support local business. It no longer resembles the company that it was 20 years ago. I am so much happier since I switched, and saved a TON of money. I'd stay away from this place. 0 STARS
