In that time: * The heater has failed twice (and is currently not working again) * The chlorinator has been replaced * The pool lights have been replaced twice * The silver quartz finish already looks stained and bleached Maybe some of this is poor Hayward Industries equipment, but it's hard to know because the service tech changes constantly -- about every 6 weeks -- so there's zero accountability or continuity. This is a saltwater pool, yet instead of properly diagnosing or maintaining the chlorinator system, they routinely dump gallons of liquid chlorine into the pool every week. Actual "service" often feels limited to: * Emptying the leaf basket * Lightly brushing the pool * Adding chemicals And nearly everything beyond that becomes an extra charge: * Chemicals? Extra. * Filter cleaning? Extra. * Repairs? Extra. * Someone coming out because the system they maintain stopped working? Extra. Worse, many of the techs seemed unfamiliar with how the equipment even operates, making service calls frustrating and unproductive. What really bothered me was adding up the actual cost over three years. Once you include all the side charges, repair calls, chemical add-ons, and maintenance fees, the true cost is easily several times higher than the advertised "weekly service" price. The marketing and online reputation look polished, but our real-world experience has been expensive, inconsistent, and lacking accountability.

So, when it came to replastering an existing 'model home' pool albeit a modest pool (originally built by Nevada Pools) that was deteriorating, I called Distinctive. All in all, I figured it to be a straight forward job as the footprint would be staying the same. Owner Edgar Herrera impressed me as knowledgeable and well equipped. Upon his recommendation, I also decided to replace the waterline tile. I was so confident in him that I did not feel the need to even stay in town to oversee the process. For this job, I selected a quartz product (new to me) in Cappuccino, and I was excited for the change to come. Throughout the process, however, I felt as though my job was just too small and not a priority. In fact, I know that Distinctive was performing a large scale new build near me as more than once, I was told that a rep would swing by after visiting the other site. Had my son not been home when my pool was initially filled (we did this twice), it would have overflowed into the backyard. While Edgar did respond to my concerns, I feel that had he and his team been more proactive I would not have needed to shoot off trouble calls after hours. My main concern involved the quartz material as rendered (which I was viewing as cell phone photos from my son). While Edgar did initially tell me that the pool needed to be 'swept' after being filled with water, I interpreted that to mean the pool needed to be cleaned to establish the correct water quality and PH. It had not occurred to me that the plastering process was not yet completed?! I have never had a pool contractor hand off a job that was not actually done and ready for swimmers. Further, Edgar knew that I had not yet hired a new pool tech. Long story short, I have a distinctive pool all right (see photos). I refuse to believe that the resulting mottling, uneven distribution of quartz and staining in the body of the pool are my fault. To his credit, Edgar did have his plaster sub, Rainbow Pool Plastering, return to perform an acid wash on the pool, but it really is no better and certainly does not reflect the nearly $30K spent on it. I am still waiting on the pool accessory kit $500. The only reason this is not a 1-Star Review is because Edgar is a nice guy and I do not believe this was his desired outcome either. To anyone considering a quartz product, I highly suggest you do your homework first. The web is full of similar stories to my own. ~ Tammy

Edgar was incredibly hands on throughout the entire process and truly cared about every detail of the project. I want to mention his crew are the exact same way, polite, neat and a pleasure they make sure everything is done perfectly! From the initial design phase to the final touches Edgar was present involved and fully committed to making sure everything came together beautifully. That being said we could not be more thrilled with our final result. Our yard feels like a true outdoor oasis, and we are so grateful for Edgar's talent and dedication. we would highly recommend Distinctive Exteriors to anyone looking for a thoughtful, talented, and highly detail-oriented landscape designer!

Instead of offering to help us, Polytec Pools brushed us off and sent us to the product manufacturer. Fine- we agreed and contacted the manufacturer, who had us have an authorized pool company come and diagnose the issue. It was a bad pump. Brand new yet bad. We've been jumping through hoops to try and get the part needed. It's been two weeks and still nothing. We've been throwing away chemicals into a pool that doesn't have a usable pump. Not only does Polytec Pools refuse to take back the pump but they refuse to even help us with the manufacturer. This company, for all we know, sold us a pump that they knew was bad. I would not order anything from them. Not necessarily because the product didn't work but because they refuse to stand behind it. Most companies would take a faulty product back. Reputable companies would have their customer's back...not Polytec!

The pool was pristine, and even the bathrooms were sparkling. I came here for the Yelp event. We had the 21 and up pool reserved. I would definitely recommend choosing this pool if you don't have children. It was a very peaceful and fun atmosphere. Fun tip, locals get free cabanas Sunday through Friday. We opted for one of the couches near the pool that had an umbrella. It was close enough to where we could monitor our belongings and we still had shade. When I went online to book, I didn't see the option immediately, so I called customer service. They walked me through the process, and I secured a spot for the following Saturday (they book up fast, so be sure to plan in advance). I arrived right as the pool opened, and the first thing I noticed was that the 21+ area is separate from the family side--a huge plus! When the host walked me to my cabana, I was shocked to see it was one of the large, high-end ones that typically cost thousands. I was also able to snag a complimentary daybed, allowing me to alternate between sun and shade all day. The food and drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. It was the perfect solo self-care vibe. Honestly, it was so good that I plan on making it a monthly treat whenever the weather is warm. At $50, it is an absolute steal. I can't wait to go back!

Everyone working there was super aggressive and not helpful, with the exception of Mike. We waited in line for drinks which was slow, but then the bar had two seats open, so we sat down. We sat for at least 20 minutes before anyone would help us even though they kept coming to our area. We finally asked Mike, who was working the line, and he said another guy was supposed to help us. That guy was Tanie, who continued to ignore us. Finally Mike just helped us even though he was supposed to be in charge of the line. Now lets talk Tanie, he couldn't function because he was too busy being a complete jerk to everyone, including the employees. He was the least functional bartender, but certainly the loudest. He was constantly screaming at the other bartenders, then he yelled and mocked a customer because they didn't tip, and roped the other bartenders into joining him. It was so uncomfortable. The vibe was so negative. It was very windy that day and at one point, the wind knocked over my husband's drink and spilled it all over the bar and our stuff. The bartenders all made a big deal of scolding him loudly for spilling as if he was a child, and then NONE of them offered napkins or a rag or anything. They just ignored us after yelling at us and left us there in a huge puddle, so we finally just left and went to the bathroom to clean off our items. I have never been so uncomfortable or felt so unwanted or had such blatant and purposeful bad service. Tanie especially was a full on villain, just bullying everyone around him.
