My family and I have been to a few Pakistani restaurants in the GTA and Karahi Point always hits the spot and provides the best customer service. The meals are always served fresh and fast and the food taste really good. I really love the Fried Lahori Fish and the Chicken Charga, The beef behari kebab and Nihari are very good as all. I recently visited Karahi Point and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. North York location is conveniently located and easy to access, which is definitely a plus. The seating was comfortable, but the overall atmosphere was lacking. The dining area felt quite cold, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal fully. The food quality was very disappointing. At best, it was cafeteria-style food rather than the rich, authentic flavors one would expect, as advertised/promoted. It didn't stand out in taste or presentation. The service was mediocre. Staff were not particularly attentive, and the overall experience felt somewhat indifferent rather than welcoming. For a total of approximately $96 (Buffet only) for two, the pricing felt excessive given the quality of both the food and service. Overall, despite a good location and comfortable seating, the combination of underwhelming food, average service, and high prices makes it difficult to recommend this restaurant. read more

Came here to try some Indian and Pakistani food in the area. We ordered the chicken tikka biryani ($14.99), beef seekh kebobs, nihari ($5.99), and 2 extra garlic naan on the side ($3.99). The biryani was quite flavourful and buttery with ghee I believe. The spices were really aromatic and there were around 4-5 pieces of chicken on top which were also pretty good. The beef seekh kebobs were unfortunately dry and not as flavourful. We also got the nihari because my friend recommended it but it with only two medium pieces of beef which for the price I felt was really underwhelming. We did enjoy the garlic naan as it tasted quite fresh. However, I rated it 2/5 because felt it was just okay. The food did come out quickly compared to other Yelpers' experience. I also found that the restaurant wasn't as clean (the plates, cutlery, cups) and one of our servers brought out two sauces and her hands were not clean. They have a great scam going, they never have the food ready when they said they would have it ready in the app, instead, they want the drivers waiting and lining up for the food, that way, they never have to wait for a driver! And they shamelessly lie to the drivers. It will be 5 minutes late! Okay, you'll wait 5 minutes. Then it will be another 5 minutes. Then it will be another 5 minutes. Smiling and lying while drivers pile up in the lobby. Liar liar pants on fire. Drivers work on very tight margins, and five minutes late means the drivers are losing money. They don't care. All the drivers waiting, and get this, not one single customer sitting down in the restaurant, yet, and still they did not deliver to the drivers on time. They deserve to go out of business. Oh boy this place was on the list for eons as it was recommended as authentic for their namesake dish by a lot of folks. Though the distance from the downtown core to the lack of access to an armored carrier to visit this area kept me away for ages :) However when I was about to place an order for the newly opened chain known for karahi that recently opened downtown I saw their name pop up on Ubereats. I did a double take as this spot is quite a bit of distance from the delivery area but even with the high delivery charge and a whopping 1 hour delivery time (both understandable) I think it was worth a try. I ordered the following as was splitting this food with a friend's family. 1 full karahi, Bihari kebab, Chicken kebab and a garlic naan and roti (didn't realize that the included two plain naan and salad with the order). The food took its time to arrive (less than the hour suggested by the app) yet it was packed well and still warm so good work there. Here is the play by play Bihari kebab is very tender though doesn't pack any spice punch that I associate with this dish. Hmm serviceable. Chicken kebab I didn't try though it had below average reviews. The naan is large and the roti is OK as well. Now the main attraction chicken karahi I didn't order the boneless version as wanted to keep it authentic. Its authentic all right, not a refined version for sure and packs a wallop of spice and grease (heartburn to follow) I would say 3.5 stars. A karahi is a type of thick, circular, and deep cooking-pot that originated in the Indian subcontinent. Here at Karahi Point, definitely the star! You can order chicken, fish, lamb and goat karahi in Half/Full Size. And probably the dish to order! We shared Chicken Karahi, Beef Kabab and Lamb Biryani. All burst with great flavours of spices and herbs. If you are into bold flavours, you would enjoyed that. Service was fast and prompt. We arrived when the buffet offerings just wrapped up. Karahi Point was packed when we arrived, close to 10:00pm on a Sunday. We discovered there was a special Ramadan buffet menu being offered from 12:00pm until 4:00am. Yes, 4:00am! Although some of the choices looked interesting, the buffet was pretty much depleted so we opted for the regular menu. We ordered the Chicken Karahi (boneless dark meat), Lamb Biryani, and Seekh Kabab (beef). The Chicken Karahi, served with freshly made naan, was outstanding, full of flavour! The other dishes were also very good and all the servings were generous. I would order any of these dishes again, especially the chicken. Very excellent biryani, they use a whole assortment of spices which give it a tremendous flavour. It's a little spicier than I would expect, and I am used to eating Pakistani biryani. So I had a hard time eating much of it because of the spices. The portion size was great I think I can get three meals out of one take out portion. I ordered the one with the chicken tikka, I I loved it, but it was a little bit oily, and too spicy as well. But for those who like spices it's great. I will finish the meal but it will probably last me until tomorrow. It was nice to pull out a giant stick of cinnamon from the rice. They don't cheap out on the spices. I am a regular customer at the Finch location for the takeout. It's been more than 5-6 times when I ordered Beef Bihari and asked for it to be well-done or extra well-done. Even then yesterday evening when I picked it up and went home, it was red in colour and undercooked. It looks like they don't even convey to the kitchen. And every time they said yes when I asked them if they heard me asking for it to be cooked. I don't know how worst if needs to be before someone fixes it. read more

Hair in the food! Now you decide... Looked up this place on Yelp while driving around Vaughan Mills on Sunday evening. Note that 7pm most restaurants close, and this one closes at 11pm - so I expected them to be busy. Wait list time was 16 mins on Yelp, but I still called them & asked to book a table. Told them that I will be there in 15 mins and I was there...but they didn't have me on the waitlist :( After pushing back that I called, they said "no, we believe you". Ugh! Whatever... I was thankful that I didn't have to wait more than 10-12 mins. Have to say that the place was jam packed with pakistani people. But then I expect restaurants to have some concept of operations management. There was clearly none. The service was horrible as the waiters were running around like chickens with their head cut-off. Water and plates were delivered but the high chair for the kid never came. Had to order the cutlery. Had to order an extra clean plate. OMG! The server who took the order was so much in a rush. I asked if the lahori fish was too spicy for the kids and she added it to the order. I only asked a question?!? Thankfully, I was able to catch the misunderstanding and the fish was excluded. I ordered 2 rotis for the kids and the karahi chicken does come with 2 naans. She said she could switch the naan to rotis - which was great, but we wanted 4 rotis and got 2. :/ Our order: chicken tikka, chicken seekh kebab, 1/2 karahi chicken with bones, 2 rotis. The tikka was superhot and so were the tongs that I burned my fingers serving myself. And then I really needed to order the cutlery :( The food was a bit better than average, but the karahi was too oily. Yes, you could see the chicken swimming in the oil. *sigh* The rotis were not soft and they were oiled up too. My wife's plate was made messy by the kids and we had to wait 10 minutes to flag down an waitress... who carelessly forgot to get us a fresh plate. After another reminder, my wife finally got to eat while I had finished and then she noticed a hair in her food. Gross! When the manager came - he pulled on the hair to inspect if the hair was from the roti or the karahi chicken. Oh my lord! Who does that. He did offer to remake the meal or get me something else on the menu. But at this point, I clearly didn't care for more food - so I said I don't want to pay for this. What I meant was, I didn't want to pay for the dish which has the hair, but I was mis-understood as I don't want to pay for anything. And I was told later, that there was no charge. Now, I do appreciate that there was no fuss or no bad attitude given to me - but in good conscience, I really can't recommend this restaurant with the sort of experience my family went through. read more

We ordered Chicken Karahi (chicken cooked in a wok) , chicken tikka masala, beef kebab, (very soft and tender) which comes on a hot skillet and Beef Nihari (beef stew). On entering the premises we were met by a pleasant scent of rich spices and a very warm and friendly host who ushered us to our seats. The restaurant decor and place settings were modest with a mural of a jovial character repeated along the wall who's cheerful natures reminded us of our host. The menu was simple and well presented with a nice variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Our host was kind enough to describe several of them to us and so ended up ordering an appetizer along with several entrees. Our vegetable samosa came fresh and piping hot, and about 3x larger than we expected. An incredible value for its modest price. The house specialty curry we ordered came with naan included and was tender with just the right level of crisp on the edges. And I have to say, it may be one of the best naan I've ever had. Our tandoori chicken was moist, vibrant in flavour. Enjoyed the food, ambiance and customer service from Saima and the staff at the new location on Overlea. As with any new restaurant there are small issues like.....no access to printed menus. A few of my friends had trouble with the very very hot spices but the food was authentic and delicious. Ok so here's the thing. I've been back in Toronto for almost three months - and I have been avoiding two cuisines LIKE THE PLAGUE. Not because I don't like them, but because I love them too much and just...Toronto's scene isn't upto par with them. It's Indian/Pakistani food, and Middle Eastern (specifically Lebanese and Syrian Food). I just moved back from Dubai - where that scene is top notch. I tried to make it, but my brother was DYING for some Nihari. Say that word, and my mouth starts watering too. The thoughts of dipping my roti into a that thiccc (yea bro, with 3 C's) gravy...picking up some freshly chopped ginger and green chilis..tasting that tart lime to contrast that fatty cooked lamb...just gets me going you know? So I googled. And I yelped. And I searched. TO is super lacking in Pakistani restaurants. I wasn't going to drive all the way to scarberia for this. But then I found this place by accident. Going through the menu, (we were ordering food for 6 adults and 2 kids) we ended up choosing two combos: 1- 2 Curries (we got both Nihari), 2 roti and raita, 2 - 12 Kebabs (mixed chicken and beef) 6 roti, onion salad and chutney. 3- We also got a side order of the chicken pakoras. I placed on order for pickup, and we went over. Super kudos for the location - took us exactly 10 mins to get there from vaughan because it's right off the 400 :) The restaurant itself looked quite nice and clean, so I'd definitely dine in! Now for the food - here's the Pro's The rotis were EXACTLY what I was looking for in a pakistani roti. Huge. Hot. Fresh. none of that indian naan nonsense - there is a difference folks. The kebabs were both really really good. Super juicy, well spiced, I was so surprised. This really tasted like one of the 100 roadside pakistani joints in Dubai that I was really missing. The nihari was good, not great. It had a good portion of gravy and meat, but the reason why is below. The con's - They didnt give us the onion salad and chutney (which is so dissappointing, I stan an onion salad every day of the week) The nihari was missing one key component - the accompaniments. everytime I've ever eaten it, it has to be served with fresh cilantro, julienned ginger, green chilies and lime wedges. This accompaniments are essential parts that bring freshness, zest and bright flavours to a thick and rich curry. I was very dissappointed not to see those. The chicken pakora were really nothing to write home about. On the whole, this place is actually the closest to what I've wanted, and I'd say it's the best I've had so far in Toronto. Next time, I'll definitely try eating in, and see if I get those accompaniments. And I read somewhere they have a buffett sometimes too. #drool. read more

I really enjoy Indian and Pakistani food. I always drive by the place and today we walked in to try some of there dishes. I walked in the place was nice and clean, the service was very friendly and they even gave me some recommendations. We went to the North York location for my friends birthday. We were just really unhappy with the portion size. Especially tawa Qeema was just so incredibly miniature. It was literally like 4/5 tablespoon of Qeema but price charged was full entree'' price. Peshawari Karahi was smaller as well compared to other places. We did ask the server if that was a full karahi because we couldn't believe it. Tried this place while visiting Canada this past week and loveddd everything I got. The restaurant is pretty large and they have plenty of seating, it looks clean and casual. To start off with we got the spring rolls and samosas-both were fresh and crispy! I preferred the spring rolls over the samosas but my family seemed to enjoy both. The samosa had meat in it so if you like meat samosas, get those! For entrees, we got the chicken karahi, chicken briyani , bihari beef kabob and naan. The karahi was delicious! The masala was perfect and the chicken tasted great, the bihari kabob were fresh, seasoned, well cooked and just melted in my mouth, the naans were fresh and hot. I personally did not like the briyani, I did not like the rice they used and it just did not taste as fresh. Moving on to the dessert, we got the gulab jamun, mango ice cream and ras malai. All of it was very yummy and we demolished it all. The gulab jamun was soft and fluffy, the ras malai was creamy, and the mango ice cream tasted fresh and creamy-not like it had been stored in the freezer for an extended period of time (some desi places have mango kulfi that taste like that) The service was very friendly, fast and professional! Chicken pakora, seekh kabob, Karahis, naan, boneless chicken boti , naan, chicken charges, butter chicken were all spectacular. Had a large party (20 people) and everyone loved what they ordered. The biryani hit the spot, as well as the nihari. The samosas were average and the chicken tikka didn't make much of an impression either. It's nice that they prepare dates and rooh afza for your fast break, but it was presented in a very appetizing manner. The mango lassi was fire! As well as the service I received. That alone makes an average experience better. All in all, I would return to try regular menu items. Honestly this was the third time we went to karhai Point and everything about there is just really good. We went during the hours of 8-9 which can be really really busy especially on a Saturday, we got seated real fast. We ordered chicken karhai, nihari, seekh kahan, bihari kabab, and naan. Everything about their food was just amazing probably the BEST karhai I've had in Canada by far, the nihari was really good, the Bihari kabab were soo tender and really really good in taste, and their naan are just amazing so soft and fresh. After you order the food does take awhile to come but that's just because the karhai is getting made fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good karhai, nihari, and bbq place and the prices are soo worth it. Would definitely be going back! read more

The new location is way bigger than the original one. And that's the best thing about this place. Once we sat down, it took us 25 min to get hold of the server. Then after another 50 minutes, the food arrived. Not a huge order. 2 karahis, naan and tawwa keema. The tawwa keema was a complete flop. Keema was chunky and tasteless. No sign of smoke flavour. Karahi was good. But not the same taste as their original location. Something is different. However, it is still good. But it is not worth the wait. There were only 2 or 3 servers. It's 7-8 times bigger in size, but still the same number of people serve. But unfortunately it's not their fault. They can serve only what's cooked and provided. To wait almost an hour for 2 karahis is ridiculous. Won't be coming back. Either I'm going to old location or finding another place for my karahi fix. read more
