Great Tae Kwon Do school with high level instructors. Mr Morrison is a 5th degree, Mr Sawyer is a 4th degree, and Ms Chase is a 3rd degree. They really care for their students and want to see them succeed. My son really enjoys his time at karate and we've seen his confidence improve ten fold. I recommend this school highly!

Our 11 year old daughter who is on the brink of receiving her black belt at the USTA writes about…read moreher experience: "Earning my black belt at USTA is one of the proudest moments of my life. It's not just a belt to me - it is a symbol of all the hard work, and determination I've put in over the years. When I first started, I didn't know much about martial arts. I had a lot of admiration for the higher belts and the black belt students who I saw during belt promotions. But as I continued training, I realized it's about way more than just impressive moves. At USTA, they teach us to be strong not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I had to learn discipline, respect, and how to stay focused even when things get hard. There were times I wanted to give up, especially when I couldn't get a kick right. But my instructors, classmates, and family always encouraged me, and I kept going. The process of qualifying for my black belt has been super intense. I had to demonstrate excellence in everything I learned--forms, sparring, board breaking, and self-defense. I was anxious, but I am also ready. When I finally tie that black belt around my waist, I think it will feel like I can accomplish anything. As part of my practice, I help younger students and try to set a good example for them. USTA has taught me that being a black belt can be the beginning of a bigger journey. I'm excited to keep learning and growing. I know there will be more challenges ahead, but now I believe in myself. That's what earning a black belt at USTA means to me."

What does it mean to earn a black belt at USTA…read more When I started taekwondo about three and a half years ago now, I had a lot of social anxiety, At first I thought the instructors calling us out in class for what we need to fix and what we did well was meant to embarrass us, After a few months I realized it was truly meant to encourage us to do better and to help build our confidence, At first I started taekwondo Because I wanted to learn Bo Staff and other cool weapons. Still, I realized after my first month that I enjoyed taekwondo as it is, and my goal changed from just getting to learn Bo staff To Learning these skills and kicks such as the whip kick and starting just to feel more comfortable with myself. To get to black belt, you must learn its concepts and apply them in real life. Along my journey to a black belt and the journey beyond, I've learned Patience, Discipline, and Focus, amongst other things, but those three have helped me the most in my day-to-day life. Committing to this journey has been one of the best decisions of my life, I've grown so much as a person, When I started i wasn't used to the physical strain this could have in terms of pushing my body, In the years i've been here i've gained so much strength both mentally and physically and I hope to continue growing in both for as long as I can. Learning to trust myself was the first part of my journey with USTA, and getting to black belt will be the next Step in my journey. My journey may have started with learning to trust myself, and this may be the next step in my journey, but it is far from over. As a whole, this journey I'm partaking in has helped me grow so much, and I hope to continue growing along with the others at this academy for as long as I can. -Heather H.

EXTREMELY UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES!…read more I joined the gym in early 2024 and cancelled my membership in June of 2024. Apparently due to some sort of miscommunication, something went awry with my cancellation and it was either not received, not processed, or both. A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER THE FACT - in October 2025, I receive communication from a debt collector saying that I owe almost $1300 in back charges. This gym NEVER, NOT ONCE sent me any communication informing me that there was an issue with my account. I was not provided any notice whatsoever that there was a problem - no bill, no phone call, no text, no mail. Instead they just kept accruing charges FOR A YEAR AND A HALF without my knowledge and hit me with a $1300 collections bill. I was never given an opportunity to correct this beforehand, before it got out of hand. This is NOT the way a reputable business conducts themselves.

I'm really torn on this review. I enjoyed the convenience of the gym and it was rarely crowded…read more Quality and maintenance of equipment is just ok. Lots of taping over cushion cracks instead of replacing etc. And fitness equipment is definitely aging. My biggest frustration and cause for me to cancel my membership was over the most ridiculous business practice. I set up my payments with auto pay from a credit card. About a year into my membership the credit card expired and I forgot to update my card. ONE DAY after the due date I get a harassing collection call. A simple text message or email asking me to update my card would do just fine. Then I see a $25 "processing fee" on my credit card after I updated it. AC (the owner) replied that he's not charging me, but it's the billing company he outsources to and they charge when an account goes to collections. Sorry bud, but you picked them and they represent your name and reputation. Needing to update a credit card within a few days of due date isn't something that should "go to collections" in the first place. The fact they're willing to let a member leave over something so trivial and typical is beyond me. Recurring revenue on monthly auto pay is the life-blood of many businesses. There are plenty of payment solutions in the market that would make life easier on your customers.

And that's okay, not everyone believes that having health and fit children that are reponsile for their own actions, and are able to set and achieve goals can be beneficial in the long run. However, in you had stated that you didn't like the school and thought it was a joke. Your opinion is yours and I'm not going to refute your perception, but lets look at the facts: In the last 8 years, Over 100 black belts from my school attend top 10 schools throughout the US. 23 of them are in medical school and graduated in the top 5% of their class to get there. In the 2011 graduating class, 14 black belts from my school earned full academic scholarships to the University of Texas, Alabama and Arkanses; Texas Tech and A&M. One is attending UTD and majoring in nanotechnology. Now I've also students that choose to join the military in which there are 4 SEALS, 20 Marines, and 13 Green Berets (all elite Special operations soldiers). Most martial arts schools do not have combat veterans and current military members who teach each and every class. They do not have a 6 time world kickboxing champion as an instructor, nor do they have a proven system for ensuring success. My black belts have been able to pass the Physical fitness test for admitance into the Army's Ranger School. Please do not take my remarks as being upset or angry, because to be honest, I have no recollection of you attending one of my classes nor of you being a student. I just want to eliminate some of your ignorance on our success rate and what we are able to accomplish when we have parents and kids that are success focused and believe in commiting to a proven system. -- Mark McGee, MBA Owner, Unlimited Success Ventures, LLC Founder, Kids of Character 972-390-7161 mark@iloveunlimitedsuccess.com
