Do not go here! This place charges ridiculous fees and make you sign a 1 yr contract without explaining it first. My friend's 6 yr old son tried it, didn't like it and the place continues to bill the parents even after they explained it wasn't the sport for him. They refuse to let them out of the contract. It's horrible customer service. Why would you want children there who don't like the sport? Instead they would rather upset customers and potentially have their reputation impacted. Check out Big Dog TKD in Cascade instead. They are very family friendly. read more

So, we came here on a Groupon deal. I thought, "what a great way to try this out???" But upon our first visit, we were being given a sales pitch to stay on indefinitely, at over $100/mo...when we didn't even know if we liked it or not. What we found out- martial arts is a community, and a BIG time committment. I appreciated the classes for my 7 year old son. He learned how to control his body and his muscles. Those were great, BUT, we weren't ready to make any kind of additional committment. Helpful tip: leave RIGHT away after class to avoid quick sales pitches. read more

This place is absolutely pathetic. My son is a student there and he invited his grandfather to come and watch his class from the viewing area. His elderly grandfather was made to LEAVE stating it's not safe for the students!! So even though they tell parents they are black belt masters and teaching your kids self-defense and confidence they themselves have no confidence in their OWN abilities AS EXPERTS to even protect students in the class from a possible danger. If they feel threatened by an elderly grandfather they don't know what tf they are doing.. pathetic! read more

I have 3 children attending this academy and they are wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about Mr. & Mrs Flees. They are caring and helpful to parents is reaching the goals we have for our kiddos. My 6 year old will have his Black Belt in less than 9 months, we have seen improved confidence, balance and work ethic. Our 7 year old will receive her Black belt in about 1 year and we are watching her become more coordinated and confident! Our youngest is 4 and he is a handful with some special needs. Flees Staff have always been great at kind, firm boundaries and he has learned and grown so much in the last year. Financially they have worked with us during time of hardship and they truly care about the welfare of these kids in their community. I highly recommend open communication with them and you won't be disappointed!! read more

"Won" two free weeks at Kidabaloo, was quickly set up with a free appointment to try the class. The kids liked it (of course) so we were set up with an appointment to discuss signing them up. Arrived early, waited for our scheduled time, 15 minutes after our appointment time we sit in a room where we are shown slide shows and given a sales pitch about the benefits and what is offered, for nearly a half hour before finally given the cost.... $500 just to get started, $200/month for a 7yr old and 4yr old, waste of time, went in thinking it would be reasonable. read more

We tried out Flees Martial Arts Studio with my six year old. It was a decent program, the kids seemed to like it and it was helping show them structure. They tell you that if you sign them up now, they will give you a uniform. What they fail to mention is that it is a 12 month contract, with ZERO out after 30 days. My 6 year old enjoyed it at first but as other sports started coming up, his interest level fell. I tried to pull him out and they said I owed for the year. NO explanation as to why they ask for a 12 month agreement. (Even if you move, you still owe the money. If your child is seriously injured, and is unable to go, you still owe the money) What also went to the wayside was once they "graduate" to the next belt level, (conveniently 2 weeks after the waiting period), they hard sell you into the next program, which brings the price up to nearly $300 per month, for 6 hours per month of class. That is more than private one on one lessons. Buyer beware.......... it started out fun, and turned into an example of Greed! read more

This place is great! It has had a tremendous impact on my son. This isn't just a place to drop off your kid to keep them busy. They have taught my son discipline and how to speak up as a leader, as well as improved his coordination. For those who try to say it's a scam, they're so wrong. Don't go here! This place is the complete opposite of what they preach. It's a scam and all they are after is your money, not interested in building strong character in children. My son was 8 at the time we started here and we got the full sales pitch of how this would instill strong character and focus. After 6 months my son cried every day he had to go. He was repeatedly picked on by instructors in front of the "class" and dreaded every session. The place is chaotic and loud with instructors yelling at kids and thinking the students can actually learn when no one is able to follow instruction for new and experienced students all thrown together. When I reached out to the owner to discuss the matter and explain why we would not continue with the program, he never once returned my calls. Now, instead of addressing the issues with his staff, he has turned the account over to collections. The most horrible experience with a business owner I have ever had. Don't get fleeced. I bought a Groupon for two lessons and ended up on the hook for $1800 despite never attending a single lesson. Family health issues (and me and my SO's) and deaths in the family kept us out of town or busy too often. I figured giving up the Groupon was payment enough, but I was willing to compromise. When I talked to the kid they have in charge of sales and returned all of the unopened, unused stuff we had already paid for, he pointed to the contract and said he was a nice guy for not putting us in collections yet. Then he did so the day after I talked to him. I've been a consultant for several years now, and while I've had ample opportunities to do the same to *my* clients without a worry, I told him that I always try to reach a reasonable agreement -- even voluntarily forfeiting two months of our household's income ($3000) to make up for clients' own mistakes -- because I value the dignity of my clients. Be wary. Don't trust a place with no honor to be able to teach it. read more
