Had hardwood laminate install by Karen's 2yrs ago... interlocking boards are breaking and separating. After several attempts of contacting "kevin" the SMALL BUSINESS owner to try to remedy this, mind you we know the warranty has expired. We were told the product was discontinued...long story short we contacted the manufacturer of the floor product and were informed the product has not been discontinued but the locking style had been changed due to problems with installation. Guess what..the new locking style is not compatible with the last version,so any problems means THE WHOLE floor needs to be replaced, guess who's avoiding that. I have used Karen's Carpetmax three times for carpet over the past 20 years, and just recently for pergo flooring. I had been very happy with my carpet purchases in the past. They were decently priced and installed in a timely manner. That changed, however, with my purchase of pergo flooring. The salesman was very friendly (too friendly in my opinion), but did not follow up as indicated. I had to call to find out about the installation date. The installer arrived as scheduled, and discovered that the measurements for the doorway trim had not been included. Getting the trim was an additional charge on top of an already expensive floor. I was told the trim would be available within the next ten days. A month later, it has finally been installed. It looks very nice, and I am happy with the flooring. I am disappointed, however, in the service. It took many calls to get the trim order finalized. I expected much better service and am disappointed in this purchase experience. When I need flooring again, I will check other places before going back the Karen's. read more

Terrible. We purchased carpet for our 1600 sq. ft. house and had it installed in October of 2015. By summer of 2016, the carpet was looking terrible. After their own installer said that the all of the carpet was defective, they have refused to give us even an apology. No refund. No remedy. Just excuses such as, "it could be caused by vacuuming or moving furniture." Take your money elsewhere. read more

Louise, I went in looking for tile and flooring and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. The manager was insulting and demeaning. He called my builder a "mechanic" or whatever. He wouldn't let me take home a white vinyl tile sample - said if I wanted white to throw a piece of white paper on the floor and look at it. read more

Ridiculous service, job was to start on august 17,2018 and be done that day, installers came out but couldn't finish job, because the right amount of materials were not ordered, also found out salesperson had ordered unfinished molding that I had to paint to match, claiming that my husband said he would paint them, I know that is not true because my husband has a bad back and is unable to this kind of work, then several dates were made but had to be cancelled because they had some big job ahead of me. Finally they came out on 9-10 to complete job but low and behold still did not have enough molding had to go to home depot to get more and this molding had to be painted, so guess what? I have to paint the molding myself or they would have had to come back another time!!! NEVER GO TO KARENS AGAIN read more

I ordered my hardwood flooring on April 2nd. Got it installed, partially, on April 18th, but b/c of Karen's incorrect measurements/calculations, they didn't have enough wood...So, here I am on May 12th waiting for the delivery of the rest of the wood. I was told the wood would be delivered today. At 1130AM today, I called them and asked if they could give me a time frame for delivery, as I have a lot of things I need to do. Between noon and 4 pm....fine. It would have been nice to receive a courtesy call with this info in the first place. It's called customer service...Speaking of which, I called Karen's Carpet Max and asked if they could bring/I could purchase wooden heat register covers to match the floor. I wanted them to be installed when they finish the floor next week (after the wood being delivered today is acclimated to my home). Tony D. at Karen's told me I should look for them somewhere else where they are cheaper!!! This is not customer service!!! If he's so concerned about my pocket book, nice, but I am very busy and I just wanted them to install the registers when they finish the floor and be done with it. If it costs a little extra, oh, well! So, needless to say, my month and a half long experience with Karen's hasn't been stellar. I doubt I would return there for repeat business. read more
