I…read moresay this after having had experience with some of the best photographers for various personal events including weddings, engagements, etc. We had fortunately found Zarek just two days shy of the date we intended on schedule our Photoshoot with our 20 month old toddler. Let's just say that's she's clearly in her "terrible twos" stage and when the moment isn't right for her, nothing will make her smile. We were also facing a last minute deadline that required us to schedule our session no later than literally two days after I called Zarek. I can't tell you how happy I am that I did! He was incredibly kind and understanding of the situation. He rearranged his day to accommodate my tiny monster's nap schedule and made numerous recommendations for venues. I was considering the arboretum and the Huntington library but unfortunately the latter was booked until the end of March while the former closed before my toddler would have a chance to wake up from her nap. So he recommended the Woodley park which was supposed to have a nice lake and additional natural sightings I wanted to incorporate in the photos. The date of our Photoshoot, literally anything that could have gone wrong with my preparations, did. My hairstylist who was supposed to highlight and color somehow kept messing up causing me to turn a 2-3 hour promised session into a close to 9 hour one! Well that clearly ate up the time from our Photoshoot and I kept texting Zarek to push the time. I felt so incredibly horrible for everything but this man showed nothing but compassion, kindness, and understanding. Needless to say, this man patiently waited for us at the park for nearly 2 hours passed our agreed upon time and when we arrived the sun has already set. So we quickly got to work with whatever little post sunset lighting remained. The rush of everything apparently didn't suit my little one who broke into multiple tantrums but somehow was still calmed by Zarek. Throughout the session, He not once made us feel uncomfortable. To the contrary he was incredibly kind and patient and not to mention friendly. At the end of the day though I truly kept thinking that we would be lucky to get a single good shot from the horrible lighting. But I'm ecstatic to report that today I opened our gallery of images and couldn't be happier! I had starred close to 50 images that I absolutely loved! The exposure was so incredible that you really can't even tell lighting was even a remote issue on that day! He did an absolutely phenomenal job and I truly can't say enough good things about him. Honesty. Integrity. Compassion. Kindness. And incredible professionalism. There is no better package than this and I now know that we have found ourselves a lifetime family photographer and a friend.

You see, I'm a complete introvert who doesn't like to be in front of the camera. (In fact, I used to actively be BEHIND the camera.) He is not only professional but fun, which adds a bit of life to a process that can be absolutely terrifying to a shy person like me. :) I needed some nice photos to round out my design portfolio site, my LinkedIn profile, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon Author Page, and more. After checking out his website, I saw that he had a special going on where he was giving free complimentary headshots (so generous!). At the shoot, he insisted on no payment but I tipped him anyways to help cover his costs. I wanted to show him my gratitude for his services and talent. As for the shoot, we met at CSUN in a public location for the shoot after the initial phone consultation. He carried all of his equipment with him and was able to shoot at a few different locations around campus. Before the shoot, I felt very tense because of my shyness -- again, I'm not really used to being behind the camera. Despite that, he really brought out my personality and made me feel incredibly comfortable (which is kind of hard to do) and after the hour was up I left the shoot feeling confident and satisfied. At the end of the shoot he even gave me a sneak peek at the shots and asked me if I saw some shots that I wanted, or if I wanted to spend a little bit of time reshooting. That was a really nice gesture. A few days later, he emailed me with a link to preview my untouched photos online. I sifted through them, selected my favorites, and replied to his email. He was quick to respond and promised a 24-48 hour turnaround time on retouching my favorites. He delivered the high res images on time and they were better than I had ever hoped for. I've already updated a lot of my online profiles and have gotten tons of likes and compliments. Someone even thought my Twitter profile picture was a professional ad for a product, because of my pose!
