SOOOOOO YUMMYYYY and so many veg/non veg options for the pupusas. The zucchini cheese are amazing but even better is simple bean and cheese. Tomato sauce and cabbage slaw topping takes these hot pupusas to the next level. Horchata was sweet and good as well, could be a little bit richer. A friend from Honduras recommended this place, and I almost didn't find it because the name has changed (Dona Celia.) But the food is still great. I had the pupusas with cheese and loroco flowers (so rare this far north of El Salvador.) The curtido (spicy pickled slaw) is authentic, pile it on the pupusa. The salsa roja is nothing like the salsa you get in the average local Mexican restaurant, so be aware. I just drank mine like a spicy tomato soup .... yummy! The yuca frita (cassava, manioc) is better than any french fries I have ever had, very crispy. I was there at early breakfast time, and the place was busy with takeouts. There are a few tables, and table service, but none of the customers were speaking English. Our server spoke a little English, and didn't laugh at my high school Spanish and my gringa accent. Maybe I just don't understand this food..... But I was referred to this restaurant to try the pupusas and I wasn't happy at all. I normally get them at a Mexican restaurant and maybe they messed them up in some weird delicious way, but I didn't like the ones that I ordered here. I order a total of 4, and my son and I only had one a piece before we gave up on them. They were greasy and made with a little to much cornmeal for my taste. The sauce tasted like tomato soup and I'm use to eating them with salsa. LOL. I didn't want to rate them to low because I didn't try anything else. From now on, I will be visiting my Mexican spot. read more

My first experience to Salvadorian Restaurant. Forewarning, the barely speak English. I tried following: Pollo Guisado - good amount of food and equally great in taste. Pechuga de pollo a la plancha - chicken breast. Delicious. I had it with beans. Papuaaa de frijol con quesso. This was really good as well. Make sure to have it with a mouth freshener. read more

Great pupusas revueltas. The fried yucca is crisp and tasty. Beware the slaw is very spicy, it took.my breath away.

I had fried plantains & beans. Absolutely delicious! Huge portions-- I had leftovers to take home. Service was good. My server didn't speak or understand English, but we communicated just fine. My meal plus a canned coke was only $5 before tip. read more

Pupusas are so good!!! That's all I've tried besides the horchata and maracuya drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed the maracuya. The horchata tasted weird but I'm thinking salvadorean horchata may taste different from Mexican horchata. Either way for $1.75 I'll be coming back for more pupusas !!! Went here for lunch today and will definitely be back. My husband was born in El Salvador and was asking me last night if there were any ones in the area. I told him that I had bookmarked Karina Restaurant Salvadoreno a month or so ago and it sounded really good. When we arrived there were a few other tables eating and everything looked delicious. We asked the waitress what was good and she said everything. we ended up ordering a bean and cheese Pupusa for our toddler, the Carne Guisada for my husband, and I got the Puposas de Queso con Calabaza and a Taco de Carne. Everything was delicious and we loved the Curtido ( spicy fermented cabbage) We will definitely be back and will order the Pupusas and who knows what else. read more

Revised**** Boy, not where do I start, but let me tell you where it started. So, I left this place, in disappointment. I was upset because of my soggy dilapidated pupsuas. To add, the marisco soup, should have been called chattahoochee soup. After picking out the 2 pounds of imitation crab meat, I finally got down to the "shrimp" and "crab", which was another disappointment. The shrimp tasted like local tap water that is distilled from the chattahoochee, which leaves me to believe, these pour shrimps were burrowing under the rocks that produce some sick Rapids on the hooch. The crab, which was a hermit crab literally, sawed in half. The piece of fish, was either a carpet or a hybrid between a talpia and a cat fish. So, after the disappointment, the pain begins. About an hour later, my smart watch, was signaling that I needed to breathe, because my pulse was escalating. Unfortunately, my watch isnt so smart and couldnt decipher between my heart and my anus... it was my anus.. so, after hitting Cobb parkway, by the bestbuy....on...mf...black...friday... all I could see were red brake lights. I finally, park by the IHOP and Expedisioutly, walk like a penguin to IHOP to avoid the shopping center traffic. Once in there, just like Murphy's law, the urge went away, which was cool, because I wouldnt not have wanted to spend the evening at an electronic store. After not finding any deals, in which I could risk the chance of me standing in a zig zagged line, to save 3 bucks off a memory stick, I decided that my dry fit underwear were worth more than the savings. I finally make it home and began to watch The Kennedys on CNN. Let me tell you, this is where the assassination of my intestines began. I made it through the episodes, but man. Let me tell you. It took me nearly 10 hours to complete. I have never felt the force of a pressure washer being projected from me, but it was one of those. Where you wish, your azz hole was blind and could feel some braille in the release to let you know what the message was....nope, straight smooth with no solidity, like the end of a faucet. Literally, lost count after the record was broken after the number of my favorite 3d baseman, Chipper Jones.... it was at 330am, when I got up, and sat down and told myself, self... this is it. Get it all out. I did and began to sanitize my hands, when my pulse rate began to escalate again and I had to quickly sit down before the toilet finished its cycle of replenishing the water. Needless to say, after a roll of paper and a raw rear, I wouldnt recommend the pupsuas nor the seafood soup. But the plantain dish was ok. read more

Definitely one of the best Salvadorian food I've had. Everything is made as you order so the food is very fresh tasting. The restaurant itself is small and comfortable. The location is a little ways away from Atlanta but, if you're craving authentic pupusas, the trip is well worth it. read more

Terrible service. Can't rate the food because I never received it. I placed a to go order at 10 AM. I was told it would be 30 minutes, I returned to pick up my order after 35 minutes. When I arrived the lady behind the counter looks at me and says "I told you 30 minutes" with an attitude. I replied very politely "it's been 35 minutes". In which she says "well it's not ready". I asked her how much longer it will be she says she doesn't know and walks away to help another customer. So I walk back out to my car and wait an additional 15 minutes. When I return she informs me that my order is still not ready, I ask once again how much longer and she tells me at least another 30 minutes. By this time it's been 50 minutes and I didn't have another 30 minutes to wait. I asked her for a refund and just cancel my order. The entire time she had a bad attitude and refunded my money very rudely. They need to polish up on customer service. read more

So excited I found this place. I come from the Sonoran desert and was raised on Sonoran Mexican food. When I first got to Georgia a couple months ago I realized how many Mexican food places sold out a Americanized there menu and food, awful just awful. Another type of food I enjoyed grown up was el Salvadorian food, we went for dinner the other night and it was amazing everything I love about Salvadorian food. The beans were perfectly salty from pork hock. Nice soft corn meal in their pupusas. They had it all even down to the el Salvadorian horchata!!! I read a couple other reviews of some folks questioning the corn meal and salsa.... because it's authentic that salsa is the only salsa that should be found in El Salvadorian restaurants, you didn't like it cause it wasn't Taco Bell or that casa grande place. read more

The waiters don't look very motivated working and I could tell since they didnt clean tables while I was standing up. Horchata is to thick, I had to ask for the menu as I was basically forgotten by the staff. Food takes forever. And, the fans are dirty, almost looks like mold. read more

I come here for the pupusas. Those delightful mini stuffed corncakes from El Salvador. Karina Restaurant is a small restaurant which was packed during lunch that day. That was unusual but I forgot it was during the World Cup. The menu has your basic Mexican/ Salvadorian meals like tacos, pollo con arroz, etc. The majority of people, myself included, order the pupusas. There are three types to chose from: queso (cheese), chicharron (ground pork), and frijoles refritos (refried beans). I ordered two chicharrons and a can of coconut juice. Of course is you're having pupusas you have to, have to have curtido. Curtido is a spicy fermented cabbage relish. Hey, I love fermented cabbage of any kind be it kimchi, sauerkraut, cha-cha, or curtido it doesn't matter. Pupusas and curtido is a winning combination. Their curtido is house made and have the right amount of tartness and sweet. Another thing I noticed their pupusas are larger compared to other places, trust me two is enough. Best part it's a cheap lunch. My lunch along with drink came up to be $5.65. It has three stars because I've tried the fajitas and tacos nothing stand out. I'll just go for the pupusas. Cheap and filling. Great place for a quick and cheap work time lunch. I'll be back. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars because of the service. I'm half Salvadorian half white and I love our food so I wanted to try this place. I was visiting from Florida and me and my girlfriend who is colombian stopped by. First off the food was very good and cheap and the drink selection is very good as well. The pupusas were awesome, as well as the plantains. However I do not speak fluent Spanish but my gf does. So when it came time to take our order the waitress was not friendly at all and seemed annoyed at the fact that I didn't speak spanish. They all gave us attitudes and didn't check on us or try to help us at all. Good food but won't be coming back, there's plenty of other Salvadorian restaurants with better food and service. read more
