However, my most recent visits have been deeply disappointing due to interactions with two employees, Julie and Komona. Over the past three weeks, I visited the dealership twice and encountered significant difficulties dealing with Julie and Komona. Despite my strong credit history and proven track record as a customer, I was misinformed and treated unfairly. Julie incorrectly told me that my FICO score was significantly lower than it actually is--something I know firsthand, as I have been working diligently for two years to improve it. She also stated that I would need a cosigner, which turned out to be false. Frustrated, I decided to take my business elsewhere and went to another location of the same brand. Within an hour and a half, I was approved for the exact same vehicle--without a cosigner and with a better interest rate. That vehicle is now being allocated to me, and I'll be picking it up in the next 10 days. What disappoints me most is that I've been a loyal customer, and I've even helped this dealership with sponsorship opportunities in the past. I expected honesty, transparency, and a level of respect that simply wasn't given during my last two visits. Unfortunately, this experience has made it clear that I will not be returning to this location, nor will I refer others here as I have in the past. I'll be sending them to the Eldorado location instead, where I was treated fairly and professionally. To be clear, I still highly recommend working with Raymond Benton--he's an exceptional salesman--and Joel, the general manager, has always been great. Unfortunately, neither of them was available when I visited, and the experience I had in their absence was unacceptable. I hope this feedback leads to improvements in how customers are treated. I recently purchased a truck from Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston. I was told the day I bought it that the transmission was jerking a little, and that if it continued they would repair it, I even have this in a text message from my salesman (see below). Per the service managers request, I brought the truck back to them where they had it for a day and a half and their service department determined the transmission needed to be replaced. I asked them specifically if the truck was ok to drive until they could get the transmission, I was told yes by the service manager, and was also told the transmission was on back order, and it had not been determined that Karl Malone would pay for it??? The backorder claim was verified to be false by calling 2 surrounding chevrolet dealership service departments. After a month of unreturned phone calls, I finally got the General Manager, James Necaise to return my call, after leaving multiple messages specifically for him, in which he proceeded to tell me I was lying about service telling me that and that he had 3 employees "Standing right here" telling him they told me that I should not have been driving the truck, as well as he told me that my salesman had been trying to contact me for over a month, phone records from verizon prove that there have been ZERO attempts to contact me, while they also show my repeated weekly calls into them. I spoke to the salesman, the service manager (both multiple times), countless times to the receptionist, and even accounting trying to get some help. This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever been involved in. The dishonesty here was off the charts, and the General Manager, Mr. Necaise was rude and unprofessional, aside from telling me I was lying. I traded 2 very good vehicles for this one, and trusted Karl Malone Toyota to honor their word and the vehicle they sold me, this was NOT the case in anyway shape or form. It was my decision after the way I was treated, talked and lied to, that I would rather pay for it myself, so, great job James Necaise, you should get a bonus for the money you saved the dealership. I will say this, my salesman, Cedric, went above and beyond and I enjoyed my interactions with him, but James Necaise was the absolute WORST person I have ever talked to, he has no idea what customer service is. I was not, and, am not asking for anything special, but it would have been nice to have had my problem resolved, especially since they acknowledged in the beginning the issue was there. As it is, now I am stuck with a $4800 bill to replace the failing transmission. I guess this is my fault for ever taking delivery of the truck and taking them at their word. It wont mean anything to the dealership, Im sure, but I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them, nor will I ever recommend anyone else to, and will do my best to discourage others from doing so. Mr. Necaise, congratulations, you win. I went for my usual oil change and tire rotation. My tires didn't get rotated yet I was charged for it. Still waiting for a refund to hit my account 3 days later. Could tell the whole story but not worth the time. Bottom line mistakes were made and no apologies were given. I own two Toyota's from this place and I'm going elsewhere for service after many years of trying to get my car's serviced here. Done! read more

The service department is the best!! We broke down driving home from vacation. Called them at 3pm on a Saturday ‍. They immediately assisted us in coordinating a tow truck. Found the problem was a part on recall (didn't cost us anything!) and had it fixed and we were back on the road in an hour. Who does that?! BUYER BEWARE!!! My daughter purchased 2 vehicles from Karl Malone Toyota Of Ruston at the same time. They also sold her an extended warranty and a tire & wheel warranty. She had some damage to 2 of the wheels a few months ago. I contacted the dealership and spoke to Rusty (manager). He said he would send someone over to repair and paint the wheels. I explained to him that my daughter had been told by the salesman and the credit manager that the warranty would cover wheel replacement and she didn't want them repaired. He told me that is all the warranty company would do. We had the wheels painted. The color didn't match the other wheels and the finish had orange peel. I called him back and told him this and he told me to take the car to the dealership for them to check out. My granddaughter drives the vehicle and is currently going to school in Baton Rouge so we never had a chance to return to the dealership. Recently she informed me the repaired wheels paint was peeling. I finally had a chance to take her car to them on December 28th. Candace (service department) took pictures of the wheels and said she would show them to Rusty. After a week without hearing from them I called Candace, was put on hold and she never answered my call. I tried to call Rusty and was told he wasn't in but would be there the next day, so I left a detailed message with the person that answered the phone. My daughter called the warranty company and was told the dealership has not yet contacted them. I would definitely not recommend any dealing with these people. I have had nothing but the run around trying to get this handled. read more

Took my 4Runner in for a routine oil change and was informed I had a recall and they could fix it that day. Can't get any better than that

I live an hour away and had contacted your dealership by phone the day before to inquire about a vehicle listed on your website. I spoke with a salesman in which I asked him to send me pictures of the car. After texting with him, I told him I was interested in the car and I would be there the next day. When he brought me the car my first impression was that the car was filthy. One of my pet peeves is a dirty car!! It appeared they hadn't even attempted to clean it even though they knew I was coming to look at it. There was a layer of dirt all over the floorboard and something that looked to be gum in the carpet. I looked over the car and ended up taking the car for a test drive. I told the salesman I wanted the car and was upfront about the things I noticed about the car. I asked what his best price was and his response was he could put the car on the lot and sell it for the listed price today. I responded that I would not pay that and asked him again what was his best price. Had I not taken a day off work and driven an hour there I probably would have just walked out. Everyone knows asking price always allows for wiggle room. I have never nor will I ever pay asking price for a vehicle new or used. While we know you guys have to make a living selling cars also know that your customer wants a good price. We were eventually able to come to a deal; however I was extremely disappointed in the customer service I received.
