Karma Dog Training is a MUST for puppy owners! I went through their puppy kindergarten with my little beagle (an infamously stubborn, difficult to train breed) and it was absolutely wonderful! It has really established Chloe's basics that I otherwise would have had a very hard time teaching her on my own. In fact, I am planning on continuing training with Karma Dog and enrolling my pup in their basic/intermediate classes. I have to talk about how great the trainers are. They do a stellar job of teaching each week's lesson and will give you individual attention if you and your puppy are struggling with the command. During the puppy socialization time trainers are able to answer questions about how to deal with little antics you are experiencing with your puppy. They are SO knowledgeable about all different breeds and behaviors. It was so comforting to know that there were people that I saw once a week that I could get advice from that was best for my pup AND worked!! Much of the advice you read on the internet on behavioral corrections is very punishment based. Karma is all about positive reinforcement and building a relationship of trust with your dog, which I love. I love that my little Chloe was able to start being socialized at such a young age in a clean, sanitized, safe environment with other puppies her size. They do such a wonderful job of sanitizing and keeping the area clean that I NEVER worried about her contracting anything after I saw the precautions taken. Socialization is so important and Karma does a great job of making sure that the puppies are gaining that skill by allotting a good portion of the session to it while still getting in a great lesson. Not to mention watching a room full of puppies play is just adorable. Karma Dog is also extremely accommodating. They will allow you to make up any missed classes or even re-take a class if you feel like you and your pup need a refresher on that lesson!! I am so glad that I found Karma Dog. I knew that I had to find the best training for my 8 week old Shiba Inu puppy. After doing tons of research on the breed, I wanted to make sure I started off on the right foot. I decided to put him into socialization & training right away. I absolutely loved the style of the puppy kinder garden classes. There was a great mix of training and socialization throughout each class. During the puppy socialization parts, I was able to ask the trainers any questions that came up in-between classes. Puppies can be very difficult, and training can be tricky but Karma Dog gave me the peace of mind I needed to know I could do it. With their help, I was able to gain the confidence to teach my puppy the basics: sit, leave it (my favorite), stay, go-to-bed, how to not bite me like a zombie maniac, and a handful of other helpful commands. I will definitely be continuing the rest of the courses they have to offer! One more rid bit of information I think you yelpers would find useful. For almost a month, I believed my puppy was starting to have separation anxiety, crying in his crate NONSTOP. I was horrified. I work full time and didn't know what I could do to fix the sitaution. I called Karma Dog and ended up speaking to the owner Jeff. He was able to calm my nerves and it was an eye-opening and amazing conversation. I found Karma dog training on Yelp and signed my pup Napoleon up for it in Austin. He was almost 14 weeks old at the time, so a bit older then the other pups in the class. Overall, it was great!! His behavior is absolutely night and day from the first class. I think the puppy socialization helps tremendously and the trainers are great as well. He learned to sit, stay, drop it, walk on a leash properly, go to his bed. I obviously need to keep practicing with him at home to get him solid but the tips and techniques they teach are great. The trainers are also super helpful and even offer advice with all things puppy, so you really get your value in this class. I highly recommend them! Brooke is the best dog trainer I could have asked for! We got our Schnoodle Eddy at age of 2 mos from a breeder who had recommended litterbox for potty. My wife and I developed allergies to the litterbox filler and also were getting tired of his potty accidents. We were having communication problems with our puppy and we were extremely frustrated with him. Brooke gave great advice on potty training so that Eddy's went to the proper place for potting. I texted and called her many times prior to the private sessions and she walked me through the process seamlessly. She worked on getting Eddy to stop chewing furniture and curtains around our house ("leave it" command). We also worked on sit/stay, fetch, go to bed, and leash walking. She was more like a lifestyle consultant who worked with our home setting to make Eddy adapt to our lifestyle. She gave us tips on good, healthy doggy treats, setting up his special area in the house (Exercise Pen), and purchasing affordable dog products. She uses positive reinforcement so that the training sessions become bonding time with Eddy and he earns treats for good behavior. Eddy completely looks forward to his training sessions with Brooke and he becomes a better behaved dog each time. After working with Brooke, our puppy went from being a source of frustration to a well-integrated family member. We have done private sessions and Reverse Boarding (she comes to your home for extended period to train the dog in his/her natural environment). My trainer really helped my dog and I. Even to the extent of chopping up little tiny pieces of carrots and low fat cheese bits. My dog's behavior has improved. Less barking and a calmer disposition. And I have developed a new appreciation for her ability to learn, even at the ripe old age of 8. The trainer I worked with was very supportive and helped keep my spirits up when I got discouraged. There are no words to express how thankful we are for Karma Dog's Rock Star trainer Brooke Lee. She saved us and our vacation. We were working with Karma Dog trainer Ashley (who is also wonderful) with our new puppy and things were going great but we had an 8 day vacation planned an needed a very experienced trainer to stay in our home. We have two very small older chihuahuas, Gracie and Bella and one very BIG playful puppy named Leo. We could not leave the three unsupervised in fear Leo would accidentally hurt the smaller two when he tried to play with them. The two smaller ones were not happy that Leo was part of the family at all. We were all in a very awkward stage of figuring out how to all get along. Brooke swooped in and made everything work beautifully. She worked with the three of them for 8 days straight. Teaching Leo to respect his sisters space and to capture his calmness when his is close to them. She taught the two older ones that it's alright to have Leo around and they don't have to protect absolutely everything. Brooke sent videos, pictures and updates throughout our trip. She was quick to respond when I checked in with her. Our home was spotless when returned with full details of how the training was going once she was gone. All three dogs will give each other kisses now, lay together in the yard and most of all can be left in the same room together without worry. I love Karma Dog Training's puppy kindergarten class! I started taking my pup FInley to their classes in their Los Angeles location when she was 2-1/2 months old, and the trainers Megan and Shayla helped me learn the fundamentals of positive-reinforcement dog training. Finley was scared of all the other puppies and commotion on the first day, but now she looks forward to class every week! The trainers were so knowledgeable about dog behavior and helped counsel me through particular problems, like my pup's tendency to resource guard, bite my hair, hump her toys and jump on top of strangers. We're still working on those tendencies but I have a much better sense of what is "normal" and what could lead to problem behavior in the future. Finley is also so much better at the things she learned in puppy class (basic commands like sit, stay, watch me, touch, go to bed) than those things I tried teaching her on my own!
