The wonderful Trinia has been my stylist for the past six years and I am always delighted with the results. She knows just how to cut and style my straight, fine, thinning hair so it looks good and is easy to manage at home. I have my hair highlighted every 16 weeks and coloured every 8 weeks, and Trinia comes up with great suggestions for fun colour combinations - I come out with a different look every time and get loads of compliments! DO NOT GO HERE - This place is a complete fraud. I came in on October 24th to see Ashley, asking specifically for a lighter blonde color. Instead, I walked out with a darker shade than what I came in with originally, AND roots that were left completely untouched, leaving me with a terrible, patchy hair. I paid $550 for this disaster--a color nowhere close to what I asked for and roots that look awful and unfinished. They do NOT care about their customers AT ALL; they only want your money. I contacted them immediately to request a refund, and they couldn't even be bothered to take my complaint seriously. Instead, they suggested I come back for roots "fix." Really? My hair is already breaking from this mess, and is nowhere close to the color i had asked for, and you expect me to come back & trust you again? The fact that my roots were left completely untouched and patchy speaks volumes about the low quality of service here. Let alone the fact that didn't even come close to achieving the color she said she'd do. Save yourself the money and stress. I spent $550 only to leave the salon in tears. read more

The WORST cut I have ever had. I have super fine hair and booked an appointment with the most senior stylist at Karma Mahogany. I told her that I need LONG layers because I have very fine hair and if you over layer it I can't do anything with it - it will just be limp and stringy. I had a mid-length soft bob when I went in and just need a little length taken off. Not only did this stylist lop it to above my chin, but she also went crazy with "texturizing" it with her scissors and now I have hair that looks like it is in chunks. No sense in asking another stylist to "fix" it or it will have to be cut up to the first layer which is now at my ears. My advice if you have fine hair is to STAY AWAY from this place. read more

I've been a few times at the Karma Hair Salon in Mahogany. Until recently, I only had good services and friendly staff. On Dec 29th 2023, I went for a set of highlights. I fully understand that going from a dark brown to lighter is quite a hard process. Therefore, I tempered my expectations as it may take a few times to get to the right color. I have shown her a picture of the desired look. She seemed to have understood what I've wanted and proceeded with the bleaching process. I have attached the inspirational picture along with the results (hours after the service done). I was left with what looks in between the bleaching process (completely brass with an ash toner leaving the ends green). I've asked for darker roots and slight blond streaks to make it sun-kissed. I was left with chunky brassy red streaks. The amount paid, which is quite pricey, was quite disappointing. Having lost faith in the establishment, I seek another Hair Salon to have it resolved. To may I add, fixed it on the first try. Therefore, I have asked Karma Hair Salon Mahogany to be compensated. I wasn't expecting a full reimbursement but a gesture to show appreciation for the fact that I was unhappy with the service and needed to seek services from another salon. I believe that this situation could have been handled differently than the standard policy as I did attempt to contact the salon within 24 hours. I had paid a lot of money for this service which is astounding. The lack of willingness to keep a client happy was astonishing. I did try to reach out within the first 24h of service by phone and email. In fact, I've sent multiple emails. I missed 1 response to which I responded shortly after. I understand they do have a policy in place of the client returning within 2 weeks to have it fixed at no cost. That said, trust was broken. The pictures submitted not being accounted for is very frustrating. They must look at those photos and know that the work done was terrible. I completely understand that results will not always be exact to an inspiration photo. However, this wasn't even close. The position they are taking on this is extremely short sighted. Instead of acknowledging the poor service I received their salon and offering some form of compensation (whether that be a complimentary treatment, cut or percentage off my next visit), They have chosen to rigidly stand behind Their policy instead of doing the right thing, and this is costing them a customer. I was looking forward to building a relationship with a Salon so close to my home, and would have happily recommend them to my friends and family, but instead I am forced to take my business elsewhere, and I will be sharing my experience with my network to ensure my friends and family don't end up with the same disappointing quality and dismissive approach to customer service that I have received read more

This was my first time at Karma Salon. I booked a cut and colour with Courtney at Mahogany and was immediately impressed with the beauty and cleanliness of the salon. The desk staff was very polite and helpful. Courtney took time to discuss what I envisioned for my hair in both colour and cut style and did exactly what I asked for. She took extra time for fine tuning the cut to my liking and was just a pleasure to talk to. Thank you to Courtney and the Karma staff for making my first experience there a wonderful one and as a result, I will be making this my permanent salon. I highly recommend it. read more

I haven't yet been to the Karma Salon Mahogany location but I am excited to go there! On Saturday June 23rd it was Pinnovate's 1st birthday in Mahogany which is a local art studio and Karma was nice enough to donate some hair product simples to the event which was really nice of them. There product seems like it is called 'Oribe' so they have the gold lust repair and restore shampoo and the gold lust repair and restore conditioner! I used the samples that they gave and I wish Iwould have taken more because not only did it smell really good but it also worked really well on my hair and made it feel so soft! I can't wait to go buy actual bottles of this stuff from there! They also gave a 10% off a purchase of 50 dollars coupon and they are claimed to be voted by Salon Magazine as one of Canada's top 10 salons in two categories being a luxury hair salon with their first location in the NW community of Brentwood. read more

The atmosphere is nice and the products they use/sell are good. The colour and cut I received was nice but nothing amazing. I went twice but decided to find another stylist with more flair. I wasn't totally wowed by Karma but wouldn't discourage anyone from going there. read more

Was going to get changed $80 before my appointment because my kids were sick. Have them over at least 24 hours! Then that mouthy rep said that I missed an appointment, which I didn't. So know I booked my appointment with Diva salon. What disgusting service! read more

Covid precautions are taken seriously here, but the atmosphere is still great. Heidi is the best stylist I've ever had, giving me the haircut and colour I wanted while also offering great advice on what would work best for my hair and lifestyle. read more

I tried the same stylist 3 times and decided she was unable to cut my hair the way I wanted. She would not use clippers when I asked and so left the back too long and uneven. Big chunks behind my ears that grew out ugly. Won't go back! read more

I went to this salon to get my hair dyed for my graduation photos. I came to get a balayage with chocolate tone done to my hair. I have never died my hair before. I came in explained to them what I wanted as well I showed them a photo of what I wanted done. I ended up with brassy blonde streaks in my hair (I naturally have black hair) so I looked horrible. I told them that's not want I wanted and they told me to book an appointment for a correction and still made me pay 300 bucks. I booked an appointment for a correction and came in and told them what to fix they just ended up dying my hair back to black. I started to complain and the manager came to try to help. She told me that the picture I showed was a ombré not a balayage. Like shouldn't I have been told that at the first appointment. And then they tell me they can do ombré if I give them an extra 400 bucks. like Nooo. I'm not giving you 400 bucks to do something that you should've done the first round. And I chose I stylist with lots of experience it wasnt like I chose a new talent. Like what the heck I payed 300 bucks for these people to do literally nothing to my hair . I do not recommend this place at all. You're better off going at another salon. read more
