We had a horrible experience just a few weeks ago. There was a listing on Zillow for a home I was really interested in and I immediately reached out to Kelly the same hour it was listed and was able to set up a time with her to go see the space. She initially was responding quickly, and set up a time and met with us at the location. We chatted with her and let her know that we needed to move ASAP which she said she would mention to the owner, and we are ready to move in as soon as the house was finished with the touch ups she mentioned were needed, complete. Everything seemed to be going very well and Kelly seemed nice and like she liked us and wanted to move forward with us. She said that was great and that obviously the owner would rather have someone move in sooner than later. I asked about the process and how it works, and she said she would send the application over to my email to fill out, and if everything looks good, then she would forward it to the owner for approval. Once applications were submitted and background check fees paid ($47 each I believe) She acknowledged the receipt of my husband and I's applications, and let me know that she will be forwarding to the landlord for final approval. She told me that the home will most likely be ready for move-in about a week from the date that we saw it. I told her that was no problem and that should work for us. Fast-forward a couple of days I didn't hear back so I reached out to her and she said she still hadn't heard anything from the owner, which was strange. Kelly said she would reach out and let me know, which she didn't. Two more days pass and I reach out to her again, and yet again she says she hasn't heard anything. She says she will reach out and update me. And of course she doesn't. The following day I reached out to her, letting her know that I needed to continue my house search if this was a no go, and that I needed to know what was going on. She tells me that the owner ended up going with another applicant. Not once during this whole process, did she mention that she would be sending other applicants to the landlord or that they were considering other people. When someone tells you they are forwarding something for approval, and give you an actual move-in date, it kind of insinuates that they are most likely going to move forward with you. I asked her why my application was not pushed forward immediately if I was the first one to see and apply for the place, and she said yes, you were, but there were more showings with my partner Angela and so I just sent waited and sent them all together....!!! I asked her why they didn't follow the first come first serve rule and push my application forward and according to her "that's just how they do things at the company." Which I didn't buy, and was not really an excuse that made sense to me. My thought is she didn't send my application in the first place because she wanted to give it to someone she knew, or she's racist and is discriminating based on the way we look/religion we follow (We're Muslim) and didnt want to rent us the place. So from the beginning she was lying to me telling me she was following up to see if the owner had looked at my application and then later on tells me that she just ended up waiting and sending all the applications together. So obviously, she had not sent in my application immediately when I turned it in. There was so much lack of communication and clearly understanding on her part. I don't know if she's new or if she just doesn't know what she's doing, but Silicon Valley Heights, you really shouldn't hire incompetent people to run your showings. Absolutely terrible service, and treatment-you guys should be ashamed of yourself for wasting peoples time and money

My family joined UC Eazy / Upward Path in the summer of 2022 when my son was a sophomore. We were…read morepaired with a wonderful counselor, established a steady meeting cadence, and felt confident in the early guidance around majors and future direction. Right before my son's senior year, we learned that our counselor was leaving and we would be reassigned. From that point on, the experience became inconsistent and stressful. With the new counselor, few colleges were recommended, there was no meaningful progress on identifying academic interests or majors, and tasks like resumes and essays were discussed but never initiated. We found ourselves taking over major parts of the process, including researching colleges, managing the Common App, and trying to understand the UC Application timeline on our own. Important elements such as financial aid strategy, the CSS Profile, FAFSA timing, and college list strategy were unclear. Communication was intermittent, meeting notes weren't provided, and despite being told we were "on schedule," we frequently felt confused, rushed, and unprepared--especially when urgent requests from the high school counselor surfaced. My son also felt a lack of partnership with the new counselor compared to the strong relationship he had earlier. By application season, we felt uncertain and overwhelmed. My son applied to several universities, some aligned with his interests and others not as clearly, and the overall process felt rushed and more difficult than it needed to be. Today, my son is a sophomore at UC Riverside majoring in psychology and has recently submitted transfer applications to other UC campuses that better fit his goals. When Upward Path asked for feedback, I shared my concerns. To their credit, they listened and offered complimentary support for my son's transfer applications. This gesture was genuinely appreciated and helped him feel more confident in his essays. In summary, our experience began strong but became turbulent after the counselor change. Although we appreciated the effort to make things right at the end, the overall journey was more stressful and uncertain than we expected.

During our first meeting, she made a spoken moral judgement about an aspect concerning a previous job, and felt she had pause and probable difficulty about being my therapist. She is incredibly uninformed concerning the legalities surrounding my former job (relax, I sound like a sex worker, and there is nothing wrong with that--but I'm not), and felt I was obligated to alert the proper authorities about information I had knowledge of. In actuality, it is not legal for me to have acted otherwise. It would have been illegal to do what she felt was morally right. I felt her very vocal moral judgement of me was incredibly unprofessional, and there was no way I could trust her as my therapist.
