This review is for Dr. Mankal who works out of the same office. My elderly father was diagnosed with advanced Liver issues after he contracted Covid 19 in 2020. The liver doctor at hospital gave him a year to live. After he was released we were traveling to a doctor in San Gabriel which was quite a distance since my parents live in Lakewood, Ca. After searching the internet I came across Dr. Mankal in Los Alamitos and when I say he has been an absolute God send, I mean it!!!! While my father's condition is not without its issues, Dr. Mankal has been amazing. His bedside manner is incredible, he is patient and extremely knowledgeable and best of all my father is still with us, 4 years after the liver doctor at the hospital wrote him off. I also love the portal and usually get answers to questions or requests for meds within 24 hours. I hesitate to post this review because I worry Dr. Mankal will be swamped with new patients but then I think of others facing these types of challenges and needing quality care and feel compelled to share. This office is super responsive, so I'm surprised to see reviews about delays in responsiveness or scheduling appointments. New Patient Process I called the office to ask about their new patient process, and they helpfully walked me through the process and directed me to their online forms. After filling out the online forms and submitting them via email, I was able to call the office and have someone on the phone to help with questions. Super nice and patient staff members! They also responded to my patient forms same-day, and my first appointment was scheduled within a week. Appointments The patient portal and ability to use televisits is really convenient. I am not a tech-savvy person, and I was able to setup my account online, pay online, and virtually meet Dr. Mankal in a televisit. Patient Care Dr. Mankal listened to all my concerns and was able to describe what was happening in a way I could easily understand. He prescribed clear directions for next steps, and a prognosis. Dr. Trivedi makes Kaiser look good, and that's no easy feat. If you just want someone with a MD title to talk to you, then this is the place for you. All he did was read over the Kaiser medical records. We told him he was no help and he didn't care. When we left, he told us "good luck." How does this person have their own clinic? How does this person have almost 5 stars? Where is the comprehensive GI care? It's beyond me. Please don't waste your time and hard-earned money here if you have serious GI problems. read more

I was very disappointed after contacting Dr. Trivedi's office, I was told by a recording to first go online and fill out their new patient forms. There was a total of TWELVE pages to fill out. Even though it was very time consuming, I filled them out and returned them because the reviews for this doctor were good and I had an immediate issue I needed addressed. It took two weeks for someone to call me back after submitting the forms. This is NOT the way to handle new patients IMHO. read more

I had been experiencing ongoing abdominal pain, discomfort and bloating for over a year and half and was starting to feel hopeless on finding the cause to my discomfort until I met with Dr. Trivedi. He was the first doctor to take his time in asking me in depth questions on my health history, review ALL of my recent procedures, testing and blood work in order to truly get an overview and complete comprehensive overview of my health. No other doctor has ever taken this approach and I believe this is what needed for patients like myself who have been desperate to find answers and solutions. Through one of my previous tests he observed that my pancreatic enzyme levels showed lower than normal and started me on pancreatic enzymes. Please keep in mind, the precious physician that had ordered this test did not catch this to remedy this problem. The pancreatic enzymes Dr. Trivedi ordered for me provided me relief immediately. Dr. Trivedi and his staff are angels in human form!! I am a 32 year-old woman who has battled undiagnosed gut health issues and autoimmunity since age 15. I have seen every kind of doctor you can imagine, and had the full range of experiences--from healing to nightmareish--and I can tell you that Dr. T and crew are a 5-star office all the way!! After a lifetime of being told I'm idiopathic, this man refused to give up on me. I started working with him in April 2019 and he immediately prescribed a colonoscopy/endoscopy due to my family history of Crohns. At the same time, he was very reassuring and let me know he did NOT think that's what I was experiencing. I immediately felt a sense of calm knowing I had him on my team. As suspected, my colonoscopy turned up clear, and this is the point at which 100% of past doctors gave up on me. But not Trivedi and his team!! I continued to see him every 3 months for follow-up care + testing, and it's one of my greatest joys to watch him sit and just THINK!! So many doctors won't deviate from their linear, textbook thinking, but this awesome dude is fearless when it comes to getting outside the box. Just what a weirdo case like me needed!! Over the course of our professional relationship, he uncovered that I have a homozygous MTHFR mutation that was causing me low folate, and then the big A-Ha... that my body doesn't produce the proper enzyme to digest sugar!! That's why I haven't been able to digest without pain since I was a teenager. I'm telling you, this guy is a determined and genuinely caring GENIUS, and I am so thankful that he advocated for my healing. I am now on a prescription digestive enzyme, off all other medications, and 2 months pain-free. A true miracle!! But what I really appreciate was the way he listened and validated me all along the way--combining my self-awareness with his knowledge to put all the puzzle pieces together. Additionally, his staff is top notch!! They're all so kind. I leave there with very clear and detailed notes about our plan of action, and they are great about calling me promptly with diagnostic results and prescription changes. I now have my daddy with Crohns under Dr. T's care after 25 years on ineffective medication, and recently recommended him to my incredible psychologist. I trust him with the most important people in my life, and I tell everyone I can get my hands on to check out this office. In my opinion, there is NO other option!! Dr. Trivedi is where it's at, and will forever hold a special place in my heart for helping me heal from a lifetime of mystery pain. My doctor recommended Dr. Trivedi, who is a gastroenterologist, when a CT scan showed something unusual in my upper intestinal area. No, it wasn't a gerbil. It was nothing major but they did want to take a closer look. Dr. Trivedi takes his time with you and really explains things. He even took time to draw diagrams and explain a procedure he wanted to do on me - an enteroscopy (putting a camera down my throat, through the stomach and into the upper intestinal area). I felt very comfortable with him and he obviously knows his stuff. The day of my initial visit his office was very busy and even though they were only running 15 minutes behind, both the doctor and his staff stuck their heads in my room several times to let me know they hadn't forgotten me. A couple weeks later (at Long Beach Memorial) he performed the enteroscopy on me while I was sound asleep, thanks to anesthesia. When I awoke I was relieved to find out I didn't end up as the center person in a human centipede experiment. Seriously though, I was slightly groggy but feeling good. Dr. Trivedi came to my bedside and explained the findings (nothing serious) and I was soon on my way. High recommendation for this doctor! Dr. Trivedi is my favorite doctor I've ever seen. I started seeing him a decade ago for severe, chronic reflux, and he quickly got me the endoscopy I needed to diagnose my hiatal hernia. Not only did he immediately get me on the medication I needed, but he also explained all potential treatment options with me in detail. It's obvious how much he cares for his patients, and he approaches all of his work as a collaboration. I felt he used his knowledge to empower me to make the best treatment choice for my personal lifestyle. I went from not even being able to sleep at night to feeling great for years now!! At this point, I see him just once a year for our regular check-in and prescription renewal. I was diagnosed with UC 11 years ago while serving in the Marines. Until I saw Dr Trivedi in January of 2019, I thought it was under control, only to realize that the last 3 GI doctors I had seen were not prescribing me the proper medication. I was up to a handful of anti-diarrheal pills a day, sometimes multiple times a day to try and keep my symptoms in check. Once I started seeing Dr Trivedi, we started working with other medications that the last GI doctor I saw said was probably not necessary. I am working towards true remission now, I am no longer on the anti-diarrheal pills and my symptoms have lessened considerably. I am extremely grateful for Dr Trivedi for not only his detailed diagnosis, but also his care. He is an amazing Doctor. He is incredibly detailed oriented. Dr. Trivedi changed my life, no exaggeration. I had been having pretty extreme stomach and digestive issues for about 7 years, and despite seeing multiple doctors and having multiple tests done, I just assumed it would never get better. My GP referred me to Dr Trivedi, and within 6 weeks of a very strict diet as well as some pretty strong antibiotics, I felt relief that I hadn't felt since I could remember. Dr. Trivedi has been my GI doctor for more than 10 years. This man is a 5 star doctor and a 5 star human being. He saved my life. I was in end stage liver failure and he brought me back from near death. The girl in the front is so rude, I would have left had I not really wanted to see Dr. Trivedi. Yes, I had an outstanding bill, NO I did not have any messages from them, I am on crutches and am NOT going back to my house to get a visa. Our family has had a lot of medical issues lately, and I did not even know I had an outstanding bill. She says "they consider it collections", because I didn't return their calls. Along with discussing what is needed, he gives options and includes the patient in decisions about his or her healthcare thereby giving you control over your own treatment.
