I took the 8-week summer SAT prep course with Jen, and with her help, I got a score of 1550 on the…read moreDigital SAT (DSAT) on my first attempt! This score was a massive 300-point improvement from my PSAT that I took the year before. Initially, Jen's class helped me to familiarize myself and solve the different types of reading, grammar, and math questions, giving me the initial bump to the 1450 range on a practice test. Then, she taught me to be more vigilant regarding the more deceptive questions, ultimately allowing me to get consistent scores in the mid to high 1500s on the College Board practice SATs. Throughout the process, Jen was very accommodating and answered all of my and my parent's questions about the DSAT. I highly recommend this class to students at all levels looking to improve their scores and can't thank Jen enough for my improvement.

Disclaimer: This is the first negative review I have ever written. I have never left a negative…read morereview online, only positive when I'm happy with a business but due to how horrible my experience was with this business, I had to inform others. Prep with Jen is not really prep with "Jen". I went by the Google reviews not realizing that the most recent review was over a year ago... If you are interested in private lessons, be prepared to pay $110+ for an hour and you aren't even getting sessions with Jen. She subcontracts her sessions out to other tutors and has very little oversight over the sessions other than her being cc'd on the summary emails. They don't record sessions (even my son's wyznat tutors record sessions!), and her tutors are not as qualified or engaging as she is. She picks up the phone and talks a lot with you before you sign up, builds a personal plan and approach but once you drop thousands of dollars on her packages, she disappears and only reappears when the tutor summons her over an extremely trivial issue (rescheduling class time requests in our case). She isn't interested in customer service and is only concerned with maximizing her tutors schedule with clients. I would not recommend at all - not only was the tutor not worth the rate, her customer service was horrible after we signed the contract UPDATE: In response to Jen's response, her claims are bogus. Her tutor wasn't happy that we asked to reschedule 3 times out of 8 sessions because of 1 time having the flu , one time a serious car accident and 1 time an unforeseeable conflict! Rather than picking up the phone and discussing with the family, Jen claimed my son was unengaged which was absolute lies! How non empathetic is that?! My son is an honors student with 4.3 GPA so forgive me if I think you're claims are bogus... She has zero evidence to back up her below claims, as my sons score already improved but majorly due to his own studying and not because of her tutors sessions which pretty much was a project management approach of watching my son complete assignments rather than truly explaining concepts. Although we accommodated changes in timing by her tutor for 5 sessions, her tutor for some reason didn't appreciate 3 reschedules and then made these bogus claims of unegagement to Jen that she decided to not even validate with the family. If you want personalized instruction with a tutoring organization that is invested in your personal success, this isn't the place for you.

They will pressure you into a…read morelong term contract, tell you that you can cancel prior to a month with no issues and then flip the script and keep your money. I am severely disappointed and angry about this experience. I was lured into this place by an ad for 3 month SAT prep and then was steered and pressured into an expensive and useless 6 month contract -although they said during the evaluation that my child did not need remedial work. They said the 3 month SAT prep is a National Promo and not something they were doing but they could still help her prepare for the SAT. We decided to try and if not a good fit we'd cancel during the allowed time period. Great. My child attended 2x a week for 90 min and worked on worksheets. No one on one tutoring or lessons or group co-hort. It was loud and boisterous and she compared it to a babysitting service for little kids working on math. If that's what you need then this is the place for you. However look at the contract and all the fine print-it's like a shady gym with many fees designed to keep your money despite poor service. We joined on Nov 14th and paid $453. There was Thanksgiving break- ok. We cancelled on Dec 10th. They had charged us $509 on Dec 1st (2 weeks after joining!) and I asked for a refund for the month of December since she'd only attended 4 classes - one class in December. I explained it's a bad fit for a high school student- it's loud and geared for little kids. Furthermore, tutors are high schools students and not a great fit. They said no we don't charge a penalty for leaving but we can't give you your money back once it has been charged. They dismissed my email with a breezy "we hope you understand." They are a scam. This means we paid $240 for each class. Outrageous. Shameful. Horrible place.

One of my kids found C2 useful and one not. Clearly some learning methods/styles work for some kids and not others. This is not what I take issue with. The problem is that the contract language is extremely unfavorable w/respect to refunds. BEWARE OF THIS!!! ONLY buy if you are absolutely confident that your child will thrive there and ONLY buy what you are certain that you'll use. Also, if you can, pay lump sum and don't finance. At least when my wife bought, while the financing was 0% for a limited time they offered a cash discount. Unless you have to finance pay cash assuming that they still have a cash discount. My two star rating is largely based on the incredibly unfavorable contract as it pertains to refunds. I am always very wary of businesses with contracts with unfavorable refund policies. I would have NEVER signed this contract. If you are looking at C2 be very, very careful of what you commit to. You'll be stuck with it. If you are at a point in the contract where you can get a refund it will be only partial. Beware!!!

Thanks you The Study Pro for believing in my son and helping him to not only believe in himself but also being excited that college is once again a possibility! Our 1:1 coaching helps to support students on a weekly basis with organizing work, breaking down ("chunking") longer-term assignments, assessing what may have gone wrong on tests, providing strategies for managing time and materials and creating a weekly work "plan". We work with students on organizing and studying for all tests and have special workshops to support mid-terms and finals. We also hold a highly-attended (free) "Lunch and Learn" series for parents where local experts speak on topics such as fostering motivation and helping students push through frustration. No matter how nice or persuasive the owner of the business is (and believe me she is very persuasive), do not provide your credit card information. Once you do, they will charge your credit card even if you tell them to stop charging. This is exactly what happened to me. I'm sorry that I have to post this negative report. I am not one to do this type of thing, but in this case, I believe I was really treated badly and unfairly. I normally assume positive intent when I deal with people or with businesses, that's what I did this time too. But unfortunately, my assumption was wrong about Professional Tutoring LLC. Although, I have reached out to the owner multiple times and nicely requested for them not charge my credit card and for them to refund the amount they have already charged, they always refer to a contract and refuse to discuss. All the niceness and the care they exhibited to get us to sign-up disappeared fast! They have now charged me $900+ for services not rendered! So, parents beware! Sossena
