After interviewing several photographers, I was beginning to think I would have to just settle on one because I just couldn't find "the one." Then one evening I was on Instagram and I was browsing the hashtag #sacramentoweddingphotographer and I came across a beautiful wedding photo and fell in love with Katelyn's work. I saw that she was based in Chico, but decided to reach out to her anyways. Katelyn set up a "Coffee Skype Date" with me since we were over 2 hours apart. I was really nervous to skype with a complete stranger, since I hardly even video chat with people I know! As soon as our session began, Katelyn made me feel completely comfortable, and it was like I was chatting with a friend I had known forever! She is a complete sweetheart, and I knew I had finally found "the one," to capture one of the most important days of our life! We met with Katelyn in Chico for our engagement shoot in the fall of 2016. I was nervous because my husband HATES taking photos, and I knew he would be awkward and uncomfortable. Katelyn gave us plenty of direction, and our pictures were stunning! It was impossible to decide which ones to use on our Save the Dates. To top things off, she loads everything to an online pass gallery, which makes it super easy to save, share, and order prints! Katelyn was extremely responsive every step of the way, and made everything so easy. A couple of weeks before our wedding, she came all the way to Sacramento to meet me at our venue to get a lay of the land, and to sit down for our planning session. She asked me a ton of questions to make sure we captured every moment I wanted her to. On our wedding day, Katelyn and her assistant Krista (who is also an absolute doll!) arrived right on time. She first came to the on-site bungalow to capture all of our detail shots and photos of the girls and I getting ready. We did a "First Look," and Katelyn and Krista executed our moment perfectly! She made sure we captured all of our formal photos from beginning to end and her and Krista seemed like they were everywhere at the reception, not missing a single moment! She stayed all the way until are send off and we know the photos are going to be amazing! I don't even need to wait for our photos, to write this review, because that's how WONDERFUL Katelyn really is. You will not be disappointed! Kindest, most positive, and professional photographer! Best photos you'll ever see. We needed to find a great photographer for our San Francisco city hall elopement to share with family and friends. After an initial email, She was kind enough to Skype with me. She was very sweet, informative and positive. She provided a link to a previous city hall shoot, and all the photos were magnificent! Her style showed intimate and warm moments. As December in SF tends to be overcast/rainy, I was concerned with our photos looking dark and dreary. I looked through more of her galleries from her website and saw that a different rainy photo shoots still were glowing radiantly. We had another skype meeting and went over details of the day, what shots I wanted (locations/ group etc). She stated I'd get the link of the shoot with access for ten years! Amazing! First of all- I am completely stunned by this photographer's talent and touch. My husband and I had our engagement session and our wedding photos through her, and if I could go back and choose, I would choose Katelyn Owens every time. She is the nicest person to work with, and she jumped in and got some amazing shots of our wedding. She is prompt, organized, respectful, and the kindest person you could work with. Katelyn's style is beautiful. She isn't starchy and doesn't "over pose". She simply helps us create beautiful moments and then captures them. Finding the perfect photographer was really important to me as well as my mom(she is a photographer too). So we really did our research. I met Katelyn when me and my fiance went to a bridal show. I had so many business cards from photographers all over and Katelyn's card was on the top of the stack. I sent my mom her website and she loved her! Once I contacted her it didn't take her long to respond and set up a meeting. We met and a coffee shop and she made me feel so comfortable and like we had known each other forever. Her happy, bubbly personality is really infectious. I was so excited to do our engagement photos, we picked a day in October and it was a perfect fall day. My fiance and I were not really familiar with Chico and so we had Katelyn pick the places. They were perfect! She really captured the fall colors and also love me and my fiance share. I knew once we got our engagement pictures back that we definitely made the right choice! Our big day was 5/18/2018 and it was a magical day. But leading up to that day Katelyn was always in touch and also came to the venue the day before to get a feel of where would be the best places for pictures. The big day finally arrived! Where to start with this amazing woman! Well, my husband and I met her at a Chico Bridal Expo in search for wedding vendors for our Summer 2016 wedding. As we shuffled through the expo we were so overwhelmed with people bombarding us to use their services. However, this was NOT the case when we came across Katelyn's booth. As I began flipping through her AMAZING portfolios we starting chatting as if we had already known each other(cheesy, but true). The only solid understanding we had leaving the expo was that she was going to be our photographer- no ifs about it. So happy we made that decision because not only are our wedding photographs amazing but out engagement pictures were also PERFECT. She took the time to get to know us and it shows in pictures.
