This review is long over due. I have always wanted to get my eyebrows tattooed right when microblading hit the scene but I was scared that I would end up with a worse look than I started with. When my friend introduced me to Kathlyn, I made the jump and signed up for an appointment and couldn't be happier. (Please note she does "powder filled" brows not microblading) Kathlyn transformed my eyebrows from stumpy, weirdly square shaped nonsense to a very natural look for me. Love love LOVE this girl :) I've been interested in getting my eyebrows tatted for a little over a year now, and finding someone who I could trust with it has been quite the process. I was actually referred to Kathlyn by my friend and after a quick look at her IG portfolio I was hooked! When I reached out to her, I was unaware about the different techniques of eyebrow tattooing. "Microblading" is the latest trend/rageee all over social media so I just assumed that's what she did! Turns out, no, it's actually not! Kathlyn's method she uses to tatt brows is called the "ombre powder fill in." So essentially, she is able to make your brows look as if you had already filled them in with makeup perfectly as soon as you wake up outta bed. Amazing, right? She was very helpful in explaining to me the differences between microblading vs. powder fill-in. Microblading seems to be the technique that requires constant touching up every few months due to its technique of using individual strokes to create the look of natural brow hair. Kathlyn's technique is meant so that your brows could actually last up to 2 years with minimal to no touchup, who knows, maybe even more!! Making an appointment is as easy as pie, she's very easy to communicate with, prompt with her responses and schedules appts a month in advance. You send in a $50 "co-pay" to officially book the appt and you're set! The appointment itself can be nervewracking to some, which is understandable I mean...youre trusting the fate of your BROWS with someone tattooing them on you!! But fear not, Kathlyn's niche is definitely knowing how to do brows, no question. She will listen to your preferences, thick or thin? Arch or no arch? Light or dark? You choose! & she is also great at knowing which shape looks best with your face. The whole initial process took around 2 hours for me. This included drawing the brows, shaping, then doing the tattoo. With the touch up I received about 10 weeks later, the appointment took only about an hour or less! I couldnt be any more happier with my brows. They are currently still healing from my recent touchup, so I'll definitely post a update pic when theyre fully healed!! Prior to discovering Kathlyn, I've gone to two different permanent makeup artists for my eyebrows and Kathlyn is by far the best artist bar none. Both the color and shape were fantastic, but most importantly her work lasted the longest. I have oily skin, so the color tends to fade more quickly but even after a year I can still go out without putting makeup on my brows. I've gone to a very well known artist for permanent makeup before and while she was also great, the color faded very quickly. Also, I don't know what Kathlyn uses but her technique is the LEAST painful compared to my past experiences. There's barely any pain at all, to be honest. If you're unsure about booking, trust me - do it! Getting ready in the mornings will be so much more quicker and you can do water activities without worrying about your eyebrows disappearing :) read more

This girl is GIFTED when it comes to eyebrow shape. When I found her on Instagram initially (@beeohbeee), I wasn't even considering having my brows done. Kathlyn did my brows on 05/12/17 and I'm so glad she did! I'd been following her on Instagram for some time and liked her work a lot, so I contacted her and she responded promptly. With a $50 deposit, I was able to book an appointment for just a few weeks later! When I arrived for my appointment, she introduced herself and had me fill out some papers, then began shaping my brows to my desired shape. I really appreciate how she took her time to make sure they were exactly how I wanted them. (I'm sooo picky!) After shaping them, she outlined them and applied numbing cream, then filled it in using her ombré technique. The whole process took about an hour and a half and hurt a little bit here and there, but she checked in with me throughout the entire procedure making sure I was okay and offering more numbing cream. She is genuinely such a sweet person and very easy to talk to! I fell in love with my brows immediately afterwards and am loving them even more now that the swelling has gone down and they're peeling and fading to a more natural color. For $400 in total (including a touch-up session) I'd say it's one of my best investments since I can sleep in longer and not have to worry about doing them every morning! :) I highly recommend Kathlyn if you want bomb brows!!! read more

I LOVE Kat's work!! I've had previous brows done by someone else and I was completely unhappy with it. Kat was able to cover it and worked with me to find the best shape. Kat did it last year and I still get compliments on it. I've had the first session done, which was a bit on the painful side because I'm really sensitive. Kat listens to exactly what you want & will take her time to draw out the perfect shape that suits your face. My eyebrows were naturally asymmetrical & she fixed that for me. I really like the ombré powder technique she uses. I highly recommend this technique over micro-blading. It's been months since I've gotten my brows done by Kat & they still look great! The ombré technique lasts a lot longer than micro-blading & they look so much better once healed. The whole process only took about 2 hours. I love waking up & having eyebrows! First off I wanna say that I trust this woman 100%, she will let you know what looks good or bad on you and so when it came down to doing my brows, I knew that I could trust her completely for my semipermanent brows. She starts off drawing out your brows so you can get a feel of what they will look like and you can tell her exactly the way you want them ranging from arched to whatever the heck you want! At least she listens to what you want rather than doing the same thing on everyone. The whole process lasts about 2-3 hours depending on your tolerance for pain but honestly I don't think it hurts that much but she does put on numbing cream for you. She lets you know ahead of time that your tattooed eyebrows will shrink about 40% in size and the color will fade as well, but this applies to any tattoo that you get! I used to go to another lady to get my eyebrows done but hers would only last about a week tops. For the money you pay here it's definitely worth it as your brows are suppose to last a couple of years, yes, YEARS!!! After your initial eyebrow appointment she does make a follow up appointment for touch ups as well! It's been a few months and my brows are still there and I couldn't be any happier With the way they turned out! read more
