When selecting my gown, the owners both advertised the ability to add lace to the bottom of the gown - saying that they would source the lace and stitch it on. That was the only reason I said yes to that gown - because of the vision that Mina had provided on what the gown could look like. Between March and September, they did not source the lace, requiring me to source it myself. Additionally, they were not communicative or responsive throughout the process. Based on these issues, I informed Mina I was obtaining a new seamstress and wanted to pick up my gown - she advised she had not done the alterations, and that it would be ready for pickup. When I picked it up, she had completed alterations with haste so they were not done nearly to the degree of proficiency that they should have been - if I wasn't planning to take the dress, she would have had to completely redu them. She also wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money for completing alterations that I did not ask her to do. The shop does have gorgeous dresses at a fair price, but it's not worth the stress that comes with an unreliable seamstress.

It is a small boutique with one person shopping at a time and all the attention is on you. We discussed what I was looking for and she provided all the options she had in the store. In the dressing room I got to stand on a small stage with all the mirrors on me. She was helpful and answer all my questions as well as made me feel beautiful and special. I would strongly caution anyone considering Stitch on Main for wedding attire or alterations…read more Our experience involved significant and repeated errors across both suits and dresses, along with extremely unprofessional behavior leading up to the wedding. Suit Issues: * All 9 rental suits arrived in the wrong sizes due to incorrect measurements taken by the shop. Several groomsmen recognized the measurements were off at the time, which is why I proactively provided correct sizes in advance, yet the suits still came in wrong. * Both fathers' purchased suits were also incorrect (pants several sizes too large, vest too small). * The groom's suit had to be purchased elsewhere days before the wedding after multiple failed reorders. * Most notably, one groomsman was given the wrong suit color entirely (the groom's color), which was only discovered on the wedding day. This is clearly visible in photos and should have been caught prior to pickup. * Groomsmen had to make multiple trips to the shop due to ongoing errors and limited business hours. Dress & Alteration Issues: * My bustle failed within an hour, forcing me to hold my dress for the remainder of the night. As shown in photos, I had to physically hold the gown to keep it off the ground, which made dancing and moving around uncomfortable and even left marks on my arm the next day. * The cups in my gown were not fully sewn, and a strap was sewn on twisted. * A visible tag showed through my dress, which I had to cut out myself on the wedding day after it was dismissed by the owner during my final fitting. * My maid of honor's dress was altered so poorly it was unwearable. * Additional bridesmaid issues included incorrect hemming, poor fit adjustments, and repeated zipper failures. Customer Experience: * When I came for final pickup, I was met with aggressive and confrontational behavior, including raised voices and items being slammed, bringing me to tears just days before my wedding. * Despite clear errors, I was told I would be charged for reorders caused by their mistakes. * After the wedding, the shop refused accountability, declined refunds, and instead contacted a groomsman directly rather than addressing the impact on us as the couple. As a group, we spent over $3,000, and the experience was stressful, disorganized, and far below what should be expected for a wedding vendor. Mary agreed to see me starting about 3.5 months out from my wedding date, and we determined that she would need to reverse nearly all of the previous alterations and start from scratch. I had around 5 fittings with Mary over the course of this process, and she worked miracles on my silk chiffon gown which was stretched, warped and even torn in some places from the previous set of alterations. She fit the dress perfectly to my body and never made me feel insecure. And to top it all off, she charged us HALF what I was expecting for the amount of time she'd put into it. I was pumped I found such a great dress at such a great price. Well you get what you pay for. I had to call the shop twice to make my appointment to come in and try it on. The owner insisted they only needed 2 weeks prior to the big day to have you come in. Uhm, what?!?! So I didn't take that advice and insisted on going in earlier. Good thing. I went and the dress was huge!! So this little woman came over and started doing alterations. Next thing I know she's on the floor cutting the dress with a giant pair of scissors. I feel my face turn red and I'm so worried because how on earth is it going to be straight. Then I'm assured it will be straight. Okay, breathe. She's done this for years. She knows what to do. Then she pins the top of the dress and tells me I need to add cups. I'm a size DDD. I've never needed to add cups. But okay sure she knows what she's doing. I go back about a week later. The top fits nicely but the bottom, oh my god, the bottom. It was so uneven and the liner was longer than the top layer. And the employees tell me it's fine. This is my wedding dress, fine is not good enough. It's suppose to be perfect. It was far from it. They try to make right and tell me they will take the bottom off the sample dress and attach it to my top. I go back a few days later. The dress is better because now it's even. But if feels weird and is riding up on me. It's a flow-y bottom it shouldn't be tight or riding up anywhere. I tell them my concerns and another woman says she will fix it. She comes in the room with those huge shears again and walks away with my dress. I never got dressed so fast. I ran out and said no no I'll just take it. Had the girl pack up my dress and then went to pay. Got charged extra for the cups. We asked if anything could be done for the price considering everything I dealt with.
