When the appointment started my consultant asked the usual questions, but it went downhill fast. After explaining what I did/didn't like, she pulled several dresses to start and we narrowed down what the next round of dresses should/shouldn't have. She then continually pulled styles that were very similar to the ones I said I didn't like. When we asked if there were other options in the store that matched what I was looking for, I was told there was "nothing else," which felt dismissive. At that point when my consultant said there was nothing else in the store, I'd tried on 5 dresses. For a store that promotes itself as size-inclusive, I was really uncomfortable with how I was treated. I was repeatedly squeezed into dresses that didn't fit properly, to the point where I could barely breathe in some due to improper clipping/zipping. At one point, the clips in the back popped open and the metal snapped against my back, which was both painful and embarrassing. There was one dress I liked but didn't love, and instead of continuing to explore other options the consultant kept pushing me to purchase it. She focused on how it could be customized, even though the things I didn't like weren't minor fixed... they were fundamental elements of the dress. Throughout the appointment, she kept checking her phone and commenting on the time, which made the experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. To top it off, I had clearly stated my budget, yet she pulled a dress that was nearly $1,000 over. Her response was a casual "haha whoops," which felt unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, I felt rushed and uncomfortable. Definitely not what you hope for when shopping for something as big as your wedding dress. In good conscience I cannot recommend this bridal salon

SEVEN MONTHS LATER (the dress came in a month late) I picked it up, paid the balance, and brought it to my seamstress. (Lastrina does not do alterations, nor are they included in the price). When I tried the dress on again that same day I picked it up, I realized the fabric label said "100% polyester". I contacted the owner of the bridal salon immediately, and she said there was nothing she could do. The owner told me that her salesperson NEVER would have told me it was silk. I told the owner that polyester makes me itchy and she responded saying that "the majority of your wardrobe consists of polyester." She also said that because the dress is a high quality polyester I "don't have anything to worry about." (I'd like to make it known that I do not know this woman and she does not know me.)

They finally agrees to put my deposit back on my card but I replaced the card a few weeks before. They then told me to file a dispute with my bank. It has almost been three weeks and they have not answered the banks dispute. my wedding day is in June and I have no dress and I'm now out $900.

When we stumbled upon the opportunity to make it official six months later, we jumped on it, but time was tight. When I tried on my dress again, I felt much less excited about it than I was six months ago. I spent days trying to convince myself that it was fine but finally, a week and a half before the big day, I took a chance on ordering an alternative online. It was delivered exactly one week before the big day, and it was definitely BIG. The first place I called to inquire about the possibility of alterations essentially laughed in my face (rightfully so). I almost lost my courage, but gave Margrete a (very nervous) try. I am so glad I did! She was definitely busy but did not write me off and scheduled for me to stop by that evening. When I got there, she got right to work and assured me I had nothing to worry about! She insisted that she was there to take one pre-wedding worry off my plate, and she completely did. I went back a couple of times over the next few days to ensure things were coming out perfectly, and honestly that's exactly what you can expect: perfection. She finds obvious pride and pleasure in her work, and it is so evident in the final product. For the sake of an honest review, I did spend more than I'd expected. But, truly, it was worth the peace of mind and top notch quality work. She also very clearly worked her tail off to meet my deadline!! Absolutely cannot express how thankful I am for how hard she worked, and how well she did. I spent so much time thinking I didn't need the "perfect" dress to really feel like a bride and I was so wrong. Essentially she was pressured into spending money on alterations that were fear mongered. A bride should be made to feel at ease and comfortable especially during a crunch time. Wonderful experience, Ms.andrea is a very knowledgeable seamstress/tailor. My gown needed inches trimmed from the bottom, and a piece placed in the bosom area. She also took it up in the shoulders so it would hang correctly. Ms. Andrea did a remarkable job. The gown looked as if it were purchased to fit, the added piece gave it a more modest look.
