Kitschy, yes, but despite that the food is genuinely spectacular…read more Bratwurst was super flavorful and cooked perfectly with a caramelized outside, a good snap, and a moist inside. The pretzel bun was heated appropriately and had the right amount of flavor. The optional spicy mustard is really powerful. My only possible complaint would be that the spatzle were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps overcooked. That said, the spatzle also come with an incredible sauerbraten gravy. My only regret, really, is not having had dessert.

Atmosphere is fun, it really embraces the German decor (saw a review or too calling it kitschy, in a good way, which I think is a fair description). Service is friendly and attentive (and in the costumed German garb to keep with the themes). Lots of classic German dishes (several schnitzel varieties, brats, spatzel, etc.). I won't say anything I've had over the years blows me away, but haven't had a bad choice either. The Wiener schnitzel I had most recently was tender and tasty, with a perfectly fried batter, and the German fries were nicely crisped on the exterior and beautifully seasoned. Good beer selection (including some brewed for the restaurant), reasonable wine list...love that you can go all out and have your beer in the classic giant boot! Small gift shop as well, some souvenir items as well as some candies and food options.

We got the lunch buffet, and wow it is fabulous. Plenty of dishes, options for both meat eaters and vegetarians - PLENTY of dishes! Eat with biryanis or plain rice, or just naan. The host bought us over some fresh potato dosa. There is salad and relishes to add to your plate along with dessert for after with a cup Of chai. All of the food was fresh and delicious and nicely spiced, with different flavors. The people pleaser Chicken Tikka Masala was outstanding, and the vegetarian dishes equally as flavorful. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I finally found the opportunity to stop in and give it a try. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. Everyone we spoke to was kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. And then, we waited for a full hour to get our food without apology or acknowledgement. The restaurant was completely full at dinner time, and no one had food so I'm guessing there was an issue and we were willing to let it go. However, once we finally got the food, we were disappointed. It lacked flavor and didn't seem to have any Indian or Indian adjacent spices at all. I looked at my husband and said I hate to say this, but does this not taste like Campbell's Tomato Soup? He gave me a look and responded it tastes EXACTLY like that and I just didn't want to say anything. And we had both ordered different dishes. So I don't know if corners were cut because they were having some sort of issue in the kitchen, or if this is just normal. But we were pretty disappointed. Especially because it wasn't a cheap night out - over $60 for the two of us. The naan was good, though. We are undecided if we should give it another shot, because unfortunately there are other epic Indian spot in Terre Haute that we know are going to be worth the money.

And the old carpet just holds that smell. The restaurant was on the expensive side. The lunch specials started at $14.50. The cheapest sandwich was $15.99 and comes with one side. They offered a salad bar for $16.99 The hot bar was $18.79. Kids meals were all $9.99. I went with the hot bar because it had fried chicken on it. There were 4 different soups to choose from and all of the normal salad bar items. The pickled beets were really good. The skin of the fried chicken was soft from being in the steam table. Nothing crunchy left. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on a few times. Lunch for 3 adults and a kid was $70 plus tip.

The mash was creamy and the Caesar salad side were good. Credit where credit is due.... The chop was cooked to temp however with the size and even with the red sauce it's basted with, my husband reported it a bit dry but he definitely enjoyed the process of eating it.
