Long time customer here. Usually visit every time we go to downtown North East. Love the fact you can find bay area themed items that often are handcrafted and one of a kind. Kathy is a treasure. Recent water loss caused a lot of damage to her store, much of which not covered by insurance. I wish I was savvy enough to start a Gofundme account because she is definitely deserving. I will look into that. read more

Nice little gift shop with lots of Chesapeake Bay themed gifts. If a picture of a crab can be put on it, you'll find it here. Located on the main drag in North East. Lots of nooks and crannies in the multiples of rooms, so spend some time and you might find something you like. read more

Very nice little gift shop in North East Maryland with a great selection of shirts , jackets and Chesapeake Bay themed gifts. If you like crabs , this is the place for you. Crabs are on shirts, jackets, glassware, and dishes. There are also books on the history of the bay and area. The gentleman who helped us out was very friendly and gave us a bit of background history of North East and upper bay. Prices are also reasonable. read more

Popped in here while waiting for a table down the street. Best little shop we stopped in (that was still open on a Sunday evening too!). The guy behind the counter was very friendly and gave us some history of the town and what events were going on that week. The store had a unique collection of things from local artisans and most of the prices I saw were very reasonable. Ended up taking home a wooden stool for the house that's way cooler than anything you're gonna find at Lowes. read more

Kathy's Corner shop is not to be missed! In the middle of the quaint little town of North East, MD you will be sure to find something for everyone on your shopping list. From inexpensive souvenirs suitable for children to adults to beautiful handmade items made from local artisans and craftsmen all at reasonable prices, this shop is certainly worth your time. Kathy's Corner is in the center of town. We carry about 60% locally made items. We sell Tees & Sweats, Jewelry, Gourmet Food Items, Snacks, Autographed Books Original Art & Prints. There are 5 rooms to browse for the perfect gift.

History

Established in 1996.

I bought an existing store at the top of Main Street in 1996. The store was full of handmade crafts and I added local artists and writers through the years. When the building owner raised my rent, I moved to the center of town and eventually bought the building the store was in The building was built in the mid 1800s and was redesigned to have 3 apartments upstairs and 2 stores downstairs. Our store has the original high tin ceiling and antique hanging lamp. It's inviting with a covered porch and our door is open 3/4 of the year. The selling partners are funny and interesting. They have a lot of history about the area and stories about the people who have built the town throughout the years.

Meet the Business Owner: Kathy R.

I grew up in Newark, Delaware but always loved the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The store has been my focus for almost 30 years. I love local art and books. Working with local artisans is a dream for me. What better place to have a shop than a town at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Our store has a water town flavor for sure We also really feel good in helping our churches, schools, fire departments, Boys & Girls Clubs and special charities. We give a percentage of our sales each year in gift cards, baskets full of products and monetary donations. Many of our vendors also give back to community. We have local authors, including my daughter, who have written mysteries, childrens' books, war adventures, history and travel books. Our authors autograph their books and many are first editions. Our artists give lessons and authors do book signings. Our store is an homogenous community of creative people. Stop by and feel the relaxed joy in our town and shop.

I had an issue with my sunglasses and was told at the point of sale that if I had any need of repairs I could bring them in. I did just that in November of 2024. I was told that it would take about a month to get them back. I called in January to check on the status and was told that someone would get back to me and no one did. I was later told that the owner was sick with the flu which is understandable and that someone would get back to me. No one did. I finally got a hold of the owner today after months of trying to get the status and she verbally accosted me stating that she ordered a ring for me that I didn't retrieve which is a BOLD faced LIE. She did not have the ring in stock and I wanted to see it in person BEFORE making the purchase. I also told her that it was fine and that I would try the Brighton store in Delaware. She volunteered to order it and told me that I could make my decision when I visited the store and that I was under no obligation to purchase it. Rightfully so as I did not make the request. Weeks later told me that the ring came in when I called to check on the status of my sunglasses the first time and I told her that I would take a look at it when I came to retrieve my glasses. This owner Kathy was very defensive despite my effort to emphasize with her for the brief 3 weeks that she was sick. She apologized for lying saying that she did in fact not tell me that the repair was a curtesy and she had to pay a total of $40 to send it for repair. While apologizing she simultaneously disrespected me saying "not to mess with her" and abruptly hung up on me while I was simply stating that it had been months and was empathizing with her situation. Of course she didn't hear that as she was screaming at me. She also accused me of being disrespectful in her shop which nothing could be further from the truth as I've had nothing but sweet encounters with her, her family and staff in addition to my husband and autistic child. What a disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourself for the way you treated me unnecessarily and your utter LIES. SPEAKING OVER your customers is not the right way to do business especially when they have legitimate questions and were being empathetic. I do not recommend this vendor and will be taking my business to the Brighton store going forward. I'm sure you're going to reply with UTTER lies but remember I also cannot believe that you JUST mailed the sunglasses out for repair. God sees and knows all things and will repay each one for wrongdoing. AS THEY SAY KARMA is no respecter of persons and you I'm sure won't be exempt. DO NOT BUY HERE!!

I enjoyed the small fragrance section with room sprays (the doggy poop cover-up was cute), but it wasn't anything you couldn't find at Anthopologie or Urban Outfitters. They do sell Pandora jewelry, so if you're looking for a charm or something to add to your collection, this might be a good place to stop by while you're in town; they also carried other jewelry collections, including some by local crafters. I found that to be the most interesting display, so perhaps if you've an eye for that sort of thing, you might find yourself something really neat. Service here was sort of lukewarm; nobody seemed to care that we were in the store. Employees just chatted with one another. Maybe it's because we're young? Not sure. Either way, wasn't enticed by the product or the customer service, so we carried on down Main Street.

Easy to schedule free delivery and to take away old 200 lb TV ($100 fee to dispose of old TV, worth it in our opinion). Delivery people were quick and competent. Delivered TV when they said they would. Unboxed, installed stand, and set it in place. Turned on to check that it worked. Took away box and packing. Completed installation to theater surround system and other components myself. Only hiccup in the installation was due to the width of the stand. We had planned on swapping our two original TVs and placing the new TV on our 41¾" table. The big screen store stand online measurements make no sense and Samsung lists it as 40" wide. It is actually 42¼" wide. We decided we were fine with putting the new TV where the TV we were disposing of was. Delivery people took this change in plans in stride.

She hand pours all of her candles in store, and has other fun things that you can buy, ranging from jewelry to masks to body lotion! She also offers at home candle making, but make sure to stop by for your own candle making experience in store. You get to choose a mix of 2-4 scents and you make your own candle (and you can enhance the experience by bringing your own wine)! During the two hour setting time, walk around the other amazing shops in the area. Come here. You won't be disappointed. Cindy makes you feel so warm and welcome!
