I've had headshots taken before, always starting with the caveat that I absolutely HATE having my picture taken, and low and behold, the process only increased my discomfort and anxiety. My experience with Karla was the complete opposite: she is kind, warm, considerate, and has incredible intuition. Not only is she an fantastic photographer, but an outstanding educator, as well. She was patient in explaining why and how I should turn this or that way. She gave thoughtful feedback on my styling choices and was so deeply validating that I felt comfortable from the outset. I could not recommend Waterhouse Photography any higher! I know the next time I need a photographer, I'm calling Karla, for sure. (Oh, and my pictures turned out lovely!)

Biggest regret of my wedding day? Hiring Mishelle. She's SUPER responsive when you're trying to…read morehire her but after you've signed your contract, it's radio silence. She's great at making you feel like you are sooo lucky to have her as a photographer. She charges $5700 for an engagement photo shoot, 8 hours of photography on day of with 2 shooters (herself and a friend). We were traveling from out of town for the engagement photos. It took multiple emails (like 5) to get her to respond to a date that could work for us so that we could buy our flights. Our engagement photos weren't great. She tends to shoot from below, which wasn't the best angle for my husband or me. There's very little direction from her (I.e. put your hand on his chest). She does do a good job of feeling like the photos she's taking are fabulous during the shoot. On the day of, she likes to claim that she "takes charge" which I thought I'd like. She's not lying, she takes charge but doesn't pay attention to the schedule. She made me 30 min late to my own wedding bc she was taking pics and not paying attention to the time. My family actually said they thought I was getting cold feet. I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but we finally got our photos over 3 months after the wedding. I cried when I got them, and not for a good reason. The photos are terrible. They're unedited.....there's trash in the background of my bridal portraits that she chose to not edit out. She put a filter on all of them but it just washes us out. I do not have a single one of my mom and me that's in focus. She took a million of my husband and me but I can't find one that I like. It is truly disappointing. I don't have a single photo from cocktail hour, no photos of our signature cocktail signs, no photos of our beverage napkins. It's like she was just shooting random things that aren't in focus. To top it off, multiple people came up to me and asked who my photographer was bc she was so crabby during the day. I will be asking her to edit our photos...tbd. I would never recommend Mishelle.

I was thinking our day was just a one off bad day for her but it seems like that's not the case. I don't think it's always been this way with Mishelle but I believe the quality of service/work has gone downhill and it should be noted for the prices being paid. Non responsive up until wedding day and multiple ignored messages. When we did talk I could barely get a word in or share our vision. Showing up late/distracted on wedding day. Didn't get many of the family portraits that were outlined, odd angles/lighting/bad editing/blurriness in photos that doesn't seem normal for a 15+ year experience photographer. While I will say there are some good photos, overall we were disappointed in our experience and the delivered work for the amount paid. There are many many anecdotes I could share that reflect our experience but overall, the day and 'edited' images reflected a lack of passion, care, or attention to detail. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but for a once in a lifetime event, the photographer experience is very important and unfortunately Mishelle missed the mark.

Noreen and her team were amazing! This session was for our 3 kids ages 14-17 and we brought our 2…read moredogs. Noreen and her team engaged wonderfully with each of our very different kids and treated our dogs like little princesses! They were careful with the dogs, provided water bowls and a bowl for the food we brought. They were incredibly hospitable to us and fun-loving with our 3 teens. This session was part of their Who AM I Program, focused on increasing confidence and self-esteem by highlighting the kids' special interests, character traits and what makes eqch of them special. It included questionnaires we had sent to teachers, youth pastor and friends which were integrated into a video montage highlighting the "things loved most" or "the funniest thing about" each kiddo. Our family laughed hilariously at several moments throughout the afternoon and she'd a tear or two at several touching moments. My husband was reluctant to spend the amount of money we did on a photo shoot. But this was more than a photo shoot. It truly was/is an investment into my kids. I want eqch of them to look back on this experience, see the statements their friends, teachers, youth pastor (and parents!) made about what makes them amazing...see themselves dressed up, holding beloved pets that have defined their childhood...who won't always be with us...and say some day, "Wow. Remember when we did that photo shoot? That was pretty awesome and we look great, dont we? I loved that dog...remember Dad joking with us during the session?
