Katie was beyond our expectations! We were told that she is starting her photography career, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We saw some of her work with family photography and immediately saw the potential. She arrived the day before the wedding and what a breath of fresh air. There was no pretentiousness, no "Well, I wouldn't do it that way" attitude. Instead, she listened to what we were looking for in a photographer, asked some questions to dig deeper in some areas (i.e. important family / friend photos, dancing photos, etc.), and then got a feel for the flow of the event (as it was really an all-day affair). The next day, she showed up early and was ready to rock. She did a phenomenal job of meandering throughout the crowd to get shots that we'll cherish for a lifetime. The wedding was at a lake-side resort in Northern Michigan (Chimney Corners, Frankfort) and Katie used her expertise to incorporate the lake and rustic surroundings. One minute she'd be taking a photo of our family, the next she'd be laying flat on the ground to get the perfect shot of our friends. At one point, she was laying in the middle of M-22 (a lovely road that winds through Northwest Michigan) to get a priceless shot of us walking down the road. We escaped the party and did a more private photo shoot with the bride/groom, leveraging the rustic exploits of the resort. She was never pushy. She knew where the good shots would be. She was always asking us for any feedback. It was reassuring to know we had a budding photography wizard at the helm. Wedding photography really comes down to one thing - the end product! It was delivered to us in LESS THAN THREE WEEKS! We plugged the thumb drive into our computer upon receipt and were immediately whisked back to our wedding day. The quality was immaculate. The photos looked like they were ready to be printed. She already touched them up, picked out the best photos, and provided them to us for immediate use. She even gave us good advice on what companies to use for printing photos for us and our families. From the moment I pulled up in my car, I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. Ania greeted me and brought me into her beautiful studio. I had brought so many things to wear but I could have brought nothing as she has a whole wardrobe of maternity clothing. I wanted the black turtleneck dress, so we started with that one. Taking the pictures was so easy. I received feedback on where to look and how to move from Ania and the woman working with her that I am blanking on her name. They would stop after a few pictures to show me how they looked so I had a sneak peek. Ania asked a lot of questions about what I wanted when it came to lighting, outfits, poses, etc. I never felt pressured to do anything cheesy or anything that I didn't like. My boyfriend was running late, so I was worried we wouldn't get a ton of pictures with him, but Ania was so patient. The studio we shot in was BEAUTIFUL with a lot of different spaces to create different looks. The make up artist she worked with was friendly, professional did my face better than I could have on my own. Finally, to top it all off my phones were ready well ahead of schedule and she quickly made whichever edits I asked for. Her packages were competitively priced compared to other boudoir packages in the area and I believe I got a lot more bang for my buck.

I went hoping for some sensual shots to use for my album release promotion. What I got was something reminiscent of mall glamour shots. I believe her services are too pricey for the quality offered in the end. There were over 90 shots, none of which I loved, but 14 I liked enough to try and salvage the shoot. In my package I paid for 7 and inquired about getting the extra 7. She snapped on me and told me to read my contract and that I was never promised any photos and that she doesn't give photos only products. She tried to just give me 7 shots printed in a book. Then she actually read the contract herself and realized I was entitled to 7 digital files. Now for the extra photos. I was already unhappy because I paid extra for a "video" which looked like one of my toddlers was holding the camera because she does not own any video equipment like a stabilizer. No lighting present at the shoot either, just good old fashioned sunlight. And nothing present to personalize the shoot. Same rug, same couch, same everything for each client. I was not interested in receiving the book. I didn't love the photos. I tried to take personal responsibility, like maybe I've got issues, but some are just poorly shot, missed moments, bad shadows. In the final edits of the 7 she decided she should give me, there where pronounced nipples and pubic hair left in the shot that caused my first promotional cover for my album to be rejected from the online store for nudity. I asked her to make things fair, to even the scale and make me feel like I didn't waste my time and $$$ just send me the raw files for the 14 pictures I liked. I'll get them edited myself. Easy right? Left click, email, boom! But no. Miss thang got big mad. And I don't know why? You can't please everyone. You did not please me. I offered a FREE way to settle this dispute but pride got in the way. Even ignored my lawyer's requests. So here I am warning anyone that takes their career seriously. Skip this stop. She's good for a sexy photo for ya man, but if you need anything to use in high resolution for professional campaigns it's a big NO from me.
