So walking into European Wax Center to have strangers rip hair out of my shoulders feels... culturally complicated. My people did not survive centuries of history just for me to wake up one day and say, "You know what would be fun? Let's pour hot wax on my body and rip out my follicles like I'm preparing for the Olympics." And yet... here I am. European Wax Center is clean, efficient, and very easy to book online. Which is great, because it means you never have to call a stranger and say the sentence: "Hello, I'd like to schedule some aggressive hair removal." You check in and within minutes someone is calmly spreading hot wax on you like they're frosting a cake. A cake that is unfortunately attached to your shoulders. Then comes the rip. Somewhere deep inside, my inner Greek barbarian wants to roar and run back into the mountains. Instead I sit there quietly thinking, "Ah yes... this is how the modern man suffers." The staff are nice and professional, though the vibe is definitely efficient rather than spa-day indulgence. This is less "luxury relaxation" and more "well-run hair removal logistics operation." I respect that. Huge bonus: I can walk there. Few things are more humbling than casually strolling down the street knowing you're about to pay someone to violently remove your fur. For the record, I am not going full dolphin. The chest hair stays. That's protected territory.
