Interesting shop. Lots of food varieties from Greece fitting the theme of the Tarpon Springs, FL. Cheese, dates, olives, olive oil, wine, candies. These products are inside a very small shop. Outside the shop cold drinks, including beers are for sale from a small bar and several coolers that border the patio area. We were lucky enough to catch live music while we were there on a Friday afternoon. So glad we put Tarpon Springs on our vacation itinerary. read more

This place is incredible! We dropped by to grab some greek wine to make sangria and Maria was so helpful with us finding what we needed. We also got some seasoning, olives and Dolmas for a great price! We will totally be back again next time we're in tarpon springs. A great place to sit outside and have a drink. They also have a small grocery store with greek products. Good prices on bottles of Greek wine. I love the local small businesses. This is ran by a father and son. We enjoyed our conversation with them both. I stop here every time I'm in Tarpon Springs. We have visited here since the early 90's. read more

Katina's is very small, locally owned Greek shop in the Sponge Docks area. Here you can find a tiny assortment of Greek and Italian imported goods e.g. cheese, wine, greek olives and olive oil, hand made soaps, canned grape leaves, etc. I ventured to the Tapron Springs for the annual Sponge Docks Seafood Festival and wandered into Katina's because I saw a sign that boasted of free wine sampling. Of course, I had to go check this out. There were a couple of guys sitting out front as I ventured into the teeny store; saying that it was a 12' x 12' room may be a bit generous. Finally, the store owner - one of the guys sitting out front -- came in and asked if he could help me find anything. I let him know that I was there for the wine tasting...and the fun began. I told him that I was only interested in dessert wines so he gave me a sample of: 1. Sodap Commandaria Saint Barnabas -- a raisin wine 2. Cocoa di Vine (Chocolate & Wine) -- grape wine with chocolate and cream (not sure that this one is imported though) 3. Luccio Moscato D'Asti I'm not really a connoisseur but I enjoyed all 3 and bought a bottle of each! The owner was very nice and told me a little more about wine #1. Apparently it is one of those deals where you only drink an ounce or so. Aside from that he gave me a small discount for buying 3 bottles. read more

The man that works here was so rude I'm not sure how they stay in business. He apparently has a lot of issues with the other business owners in the square and it's pretty obvious why. My friend and I stopped in for a beer and he was so off putting we went next door. I tried to buy mine with a card and there was a minimum to pay with card so my friend got it for me and this guy said, "oh she must make a lot more than you". Meaning I must be poor if I don't have enough cash for a bottle of beer. Thanks for that. The whole time we had the *pleasure* of interacting with him, he seemed very bothered like we were wasting his time. We went next door and had amazing service, delicious food, and great drinks. read more

This is our favourite stop in Tarpon. Actually it the main reason we visit when we come down to Florida. They have amazing Greek Wine for 3.75. And it is good! and the pours are great too. Very disappointed. We have been here before and were excited to go back today. My sister and I both asked for one sample of wine each because they advertise free wine tasting. After not loving our first sample we asked for another each thats when the older gentleman proceeded to yell "no buy a glass we don't just get to sample all day." We stood there a moment and took that comment in and proceeded to turn around and leave. I have never been treated so rudely. I don't know if it's because we looked young and he thought we were wasting his time or just had something against our money we were willing to pay. Either way we went to Wine at the Docks and enjoyed 2 glasses of wine each and tipped their fabulous bartender very well. I used to go to this place back in 2000-2004 and it was a great place then and because it still exists it must be noticed by lot of other folks, too. When you come there and taste George's wine and beer or just buy some specialties in his original Greek store, I know that you will be satisfied and will come back again.
