I've been wanting to try this wine bar/bistro since the day it opened. I just never seemed to hit…read moreit at the right time. Fortunately, it was open the day after Christmas at 1pm. What a lovely surprise! It's kind of hidden on Bay Street. It's behind the Restoration Hardware Gallery. You'll see the outdoor patio area on the left as you're exiting the food court. In fact, that appears to be the main entrance (or it was that day). There's another entrance next to the Shake Shack as well. The interior is very reminiscent of bistros in various parts of Europe. It's somewhat dark & moody with warm wood furnishings. The wine/coffee bar is the focal point. The seating is comfortable & diverse. There are also large tables set up for groups of people. It's definitely a great meeting place after a day of shopping. It's also great for couples on a date. I was the first one there that afternoon, and had my pick of tables. They have such a great wine list. I already knew what I wanted thanks to the great descriptions on the menu. The white wine flight is a pick of any 3 from the menu. I had a generous pour of a few French Sauvignon Blanc wines and a Blanc de Franc. It was my first time trying the latter white Cabernet Sauvignon. What a treat! I loved all 3, but my absolute favorite was the one from Domaine Doudeau-Léger. The service here was wonderful. Nina gave me some great suggestions when I asked about the toasts. I ended up choosing the Wild Truffled Mushroom one. It was delicious! The mushrooms were the star of the show. The subtle hint of truffle really brought out the natural flavors. I totally recommend this one. If you're a mushroom lover, there's a mushroom & pea soup that was also recommended. I couldn't leave without dessert. I think my only disappointment was that they didn't have the croissants ready. The Crème Brûlée one is popular as well as the Basque Burned Cheesecake. It would have taken an additional 30 minutes. I ended up getting the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. It turned out to be a good decision because the croissant would have been too filling for me. This cake was perfectly light and paired very well with the cappuccino. They serve Kimbo Italian espresso for all you coffee lovers out there. Even the small detail of having a delicious Italian biscotti cookie bite in the spoon was the perfect ending for me. I'm looking forward to more visits. Hopefully, I'll get to try that croissant dessert that everyone raves about. They serve brunch on the weekends. That's what I want to try the next time I'm at International Plaza.

My husband shared it with him but is on the fence of if he'd get it again. He said depends on his mood next time. So definitely get it for the kid, toss up on whether Brandon will share it with him. Both kids loved the French fries. I got the smashed burger, which was delicious, with a side of fries for them which they devoured and wanted more. So next time we should get two sides of fries. My oldest son got the noodles with marinara. He ate a little, but not a ton so we still don't have a winner there. My dad got the ribs and liked it. I found the slaw to have too much dressing so that wouldn't be a top choice for me. We always like coming here, so I still recommend it. There was no problem getting a table on a Friday night even though my husband assumed it would be packed. Service was a little slow this evening, but nothing crazy.

We went after a wedding ceremony to the Capital Grille located in the International Mall in Tampa…read more This is a visit to the same restaurant name, in a different location, in a month. How did they do here compared to the one in Orlando? I have to say their staff- from the hostess stand to the waiting staff and everyone with whom I came in contact was absolutely friendly, professional, and helpful. That was the case across the board. The ambiance at this location seems livelier at the bar where they have tv screens and one is able to choose, on a first come first serve basis, a high top or a seat at the bar. We had some cocktails and appetizers first as you can see in the pictures- we tried the jumbo shrimp served with fresh lemon and cocktail sauce. The cocktail shrimp were fresh and served on ice chips. They are so consistent with their quality, we have never been disappointed with the shrimp. We also tried the Nueske's double cut cherrywood bacon in a Korean bbq glaze. We liked it, but I felt it was paired with a bbq sauce that completely overshadowed the bacon. It felt too salty and the bacon was unusually fatty. As the rest of our party began to arrive, we moved to our reserved table where we sampled more appetizers and ordered dinner. The Jumbo lump crab cocktail was top notch, served with fresh lemon perfectly chilled and also a lovely quality and generous size. We tried their Pan-fried calamari with hot cherry peppers - we had a young guest in our party so the waiter considered to order this with the peppers mostly to one side so we could have a choice (this starter has a kick to it). Nice touch! Our group had several cocktails and the one that stood out was The Dolí- this is Capital Grille's signature martini featuring Wheatley American Craft vodka infused with Dole pineapple- it's chilled and served straight up! Loved it; it has a playful name especially for the area. I had my usual glass of chilled Moët et Chandon and others in our party had Dirty Martinis. The bar team was so consistent in their cocktails, we loved and appreciated that as well. For dinner, we tried their filet mignon, the dry aged bone in NY strip steak, and I had the Sesame seed encrusted Tuna served on a gingered rice. The table shared mashed potatoes and Lobster Mac-n-cheese. All our mains were served and plated with care at the right temperature, perfectly cooked to order (terms) steaks. The restaurant was busy but the staff did an excellent job in keeping the service flowing in a timely fashion it did not feel rushed nor distractingly slow. It was perfectly timed. We closed with the classic Crème Brûlée with seasonal berries. Their fruit was fresh and ripe, the caramelized sugar- perfectly brittle and topping a creamy custard; just divine! We love and prefer this location to the Millenia Mall in Orlando. We will be back- Capital Grille in Tampa- you win every time!

Holy cow was the service awful and the food way below standard for what they charge ...The steak was bland / average, one guy said inedible... and the service was delivered with a healthy dose of resentment / I hate my job. We'd go 20 mins before seeing anyone and you'd have to 'duck' as they rough cleared between servings. Never again. Done with this food chain. Avoid at all cost. For dinner, I chose the Rotisserie Farm Bird. The sauce it came on was good, but the breast was really dry. I used all the sauce on the plate for it, but I could still barely eat it. I had to ask a waitress passing by for some ranch (a trick, I learned to eat my mother-in-law's chicken). Of course the thigh and drum were better because they always are. The veggies on the plate were green beans, carrots, pearl onions, and potato. I don't know why people don't like their vegetables cooked anymore, but I don't like crunchy green beans. The carrots weren't exactly crunchy, but they weren't exactly cooked tender. They were definitely a weird texture. The (large) pearl onions were OK, but I would've preferred actual pearl onions rather than these that were kind of like the size of a shallot. The best thing on the plate was the potato and of course, not enough of it. I am diabetic so I did not try the whiskey cake. I'm sure it would have been delicious.

It wasn't too busy and I had the best experience with Collin picking out my entree and sides. He had recommendations and helped put the meal together. I got the Sweet chili salmon, green beans and mash potatoes. I had about a 30 minute drive home and we did end up eating this for dinner and I have to say I microwaved the sides and reheated the salmon in a pan just to keep the skin crispy and it turned out really good. A little dry but not terrible for being reheated. I probably wouldn't get the green beans again, but the mashed potatoes and the Salmon were a good option.

However, standard packaged pantry snacks and conventional national-brand goods are typically cheaper at Publix, especially when Publix runs its frequent Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) sales. Whole Foods has a much larger selection of pre-made hot food selections and salad selections than Publix. On my latest visit, my hot bar food selections included: Sweet chili chicken 10/10 orange chicken 10/10 Chicken tika masala 9/10 Cheese lasagna 4/10 white fish 6/10 meatballs 8/10 The sweet chili chicken is great but they often have it at Publix for less but it is not always available like it is at Whole Foods. 9/10 The orange chicken had a great flavor as well and they don't ever have anything like that at Publix. 10/10 The chicken tika masala had a good flavor and was mild not spicy, could have had a little more spice but they're probably trying to appeal to more people. 9/10 The cheese lasagna was missing seasoning and meat. 4/10 The white fish was a little on the bland side and could have had a better marinade or seasoning. However, for those who want something light it could work. I wish Whole Foods had more fish dish selections available including some salmon. 6/10 The meatballs had a good flavor and sauce and were not too dry as sometimes happens with meatballs, especially if meatballs are too big. These were just the right size to not be too dry. 8/10 My overall high protein low carb selections weighed in at 1.3lbs at $11.99 per pound which totals to $14. It's a little cheaper than what I'd be charged for chicken tika masala at an Indian restaurant so it's kinda a good deal if you're craving something different, extra healthy, and wholesome. The hot bar is self serve so there is no table service. The ambiance at Whole Foods is modern but minimalist with lots of natural light and modest light wood tables and chairs. A sign describes Whole Foods' healthy standards that aren't standard anywhere else: - We offer fresh produce from thousands of local, organic and sourced for good farms. - Our seafood department only sells sustainable wild-caught and responsibly farmed seafood. - Our standards prohibit over 100 preservatives, flavors, colors and other ingredients commonly found in food. - We don't allow hydrogenated fats, high-fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners in any food we sell. - Our meat department requires animal welfare certified beef, pork, chicken, and turkey. no added hormones or antibiotics ever.
