Me at the DDS just passed my test in the KATLAW School Truck!
    Mila B.

The best school hands down. Johnny is the most patient instructor in the lot. Big ups to him!Fred,Cj,Tay are cool and have a great sense of humor. Dexter is the go to if you having any issues they will be fixed. He has a great sense of humor also. Everyone is very cool and laid back. If you can drive Katlaw trucks you can DRIVE ANY TRUCK! I just got my CLASS A CDL and had all the support and help I needed from this school and my student friends. I'm going to miss them!

Review of Roadmaster Trucking School - Pennsylvania Location…read more Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania Roadmaster Trucking School feels like an option you settle for when you've exhausted other ways to obtain your Class A CDL. I chose this location mainly because of its proximity to New York. The school works for some people, especially if you can qualify for a loan, but the system itself is where the issues lie. Roadmaster operates multiple locations and clearly profits from additional, often unnecessary, expenses placed on students. You are required to pay out of pocket for your DOT physical, and you cannot use your own insurance for the drug test--even though it's processed through Quest Diagnostics. If your drug test is over 30 days old, you must pay $80 to retake it. Housing is another drawback. If you go through their program financing, expect to pay around $11,000 and share a room with a complete stranger. If you can afford to pay cash at a different trucking school, I strongly recommend doing so. If not, your best option may be finding a co-signer. That said, Mary, the Program Manager, was excellent very helpful and professional. Alex, the advisor, was also great. My experience has nothing to do with them personally; it's the overall structure and system of the school that didn't work for me. I initially planned to transfer to the Georgia location but ultimately obtained my CDL elsewhere for under $4,000.

My experience at Roadmasters was a real mixed bag. The instructors and the school manager are…read morereally good guys who are truly doing their best to offer a good experience. However, there were quite a few structural issues that really hampered their efforts. They were chronically short staffed and the student to instructor ratio was too high, for example. The experience was not as good as it should have been given the caliber and conscientiousness of the staff. It Must be noted that after I said the above (and more) in the in house review, I was almost immediately contacted by the Werner executive who directs Roadmaster's operations on the national level. He was sincerely concerned with my review and asked for explicit explanations of my opinions and after a lengthy conversation he committed to making immediate changes at the Lithia Springs, GA, location. I was very impressed by his professionalism and his hands on approach to running his division. I believe he will make significant progress in short order. Also, the long term plans for brand new, fully integrated facility will solve quite a few issues they are having right now. All told, it seems that Roadmaster has a lot of good people working for them who are diligent and conscientious. The corporation itself just needs to get a few of its ducks back in a row. The national Director doesn't seem to be the type of person to captain a leaky ship though, so I would be surprised if the issues I discussed with him weren't soon rectified.
