I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was unacceptable and I feel obligated to share it. I came in for long, blended layers on my curly hair along with a blowout and styling. I showed clear reference photos and explained exactly what I wanted. I also had plenty of length and fullness to achieve the look--I've included photos of how my hair looked straightened before the appointment, which clearly shows the density and length I came in with. What I received was completely different. My hair was cut with extremely short, choppy layers that removed a significant amount of thickness. The ends were over-thinned, leaving my hair looking uneven, shaggy, and nothing like the full, blended look I asked for. It honestly feels like I lost a large portion of my hair. This was not a minor miscommunication--it was a drastic and irreversible change that does not reflect the reference photos I provided or the condition my hair was in before. What's even more concerning is that the stylist acknowledged during the appointment that the result was not what she expected and admitted fault. After spending over three hours in the chair, I left feeling extremely upset and uncomfortable with my appearance. I came in excited and left completely devastated. I was traveling to Fort Lauderdale and needed to find a hair salon to touch up my roots. Since I had highlights in my hair, I had to make sure that the colorist knew how to apply the color while not damaging the highlights. Also, the salon had to be near the cruise port terminal because I was jumping on a cruise ship that afternoon. Ka'ton Salon met my criteria and I made an appointment with Toni. She started off by giving me a cup of matcha tea and a neck massage. Nice!! Then took her time to match my color which was not an easy task b/c my own stylist mixes a bunch of colors. From the start, I felt confident that Toni was experienced. She is a master of her trade and most importantly, takes pride in her work. I thought it was going to take 1.5 hours but I elected an additional conditioning treatment which required time to set in. The complimentary blowout was more than I expected. She blew out my normally straight-as-a-string hair and gave me waves. No flatiron was used. Just good old fashioned blow dryer and hair brush. I forgot to mention that this salon uses 100% organic products. How they can create a hair color without ammonia boggles my mind. It smelled really nice too! Another added bonus, when I returned home, the touch up lasted a full week longer than my usual touch ups. I came in looking for a quick wash and blowout--simple enough, right? The salon itself is cute and aesthetically pleasing, and I have no complaints about the space or vibe. Toni, the stylist, was super sweet and bubbly--she really has a great attitude. That said, my experience with the wash and blowout fell short. My hair was a bit greasy when I came in (as many people's are when they come in for a wash), and even though she shampooed twice, it still didn't feel clean. She offered to wash it again, but we were pressed for time--not because of me, as I arrived early--but due to her running behind with a previous client. She asked if I wanted volume and bounce, which I appreciated, but the end result honestly looked like I had done it myself at home--and not in a good way. Thankfully, I wasn't going anywhere important, so no harm done, but I was definitely hoping for a more polished result. Just a heads up: if your hair is anything less than freshly washed, I'd recommend either pre-washing at home or considering a different salon that uses stronger cleansing products. I became a client of this salon last September and this was my third haircut. I typically see Paige. I asked for a trim and to freshen up my layers. I specifically wanted more layers but to keep my length. I was told only about 2 inches would need to be trimmed, however my hair is about 6-8inches shorter and does not have layers. It is also uneven. I thought maybe, my hair would grow out and look better, but it honestly looks worse. Every time I style my hair, it looks awful. I called the salon to complain, and I was offered a free haircut and a discounted treatment. However, I only get my hair trimmed ever 3-4 months. Although I appreciate the free haircut and discounted treatment, it doesn't change the fact that my long hair was messed up. I will not be coming back and I do not recommend anyone with long hair to have their hair cut here. read more

TLDR: Booked an appointment for a haircut and it turned out to be a huge mistake. Last year I received a color and cut by a hairstylist, Courtney and loved it! She listened to exactly how I wanted my hair and I left loving my hair. Unfortunately, she left the salon and my experience this time was not the same. The reason why I came back to this salon was because they were offering 30% off a service if you tried a different stylist- huge mistake. I showed inspo pictures of how I wanted my hair and it was the complete opposite of how I wanted it. Three inches were cut off (which is what I wanted) but I have really choppy layers were added. I feel the layers are uneven and doesn't fall nicely on my hair. I only have two options: cut my hair even shorter to fix my layers which is not going to happen. My hair would need to be cut into a bob and it won't be flattering. My other option is grow this awkward haircut until I can get a proper hairstylist to cut it. What bothers me the most about hair salons is everyone wants to charge 80 plus dollars for a haircut and say this artist is a master stylist etc and in reality - they can only color! read more

I've had my haircuts done at this salon for the past 2 years. Yesterday's cut was my favorite by far! Nikki is absolutely amazing!!! I had a great experience here. Walked in for a scalp treatment and was able to get an appointment later that same day. How refreshing is that? Alondra was great. She was attentive and recommended a treatment that really helped my dryness and flaky scalp. Maybe the best part was the recommendations she made for home care. Decided to leave this review so others considering this salon learn from my experience. I chose this salon due to its proximity to the hospital my son is in. It's been more than 1.5 years since I had a haircut due to pregnancy and the baby's medical issues post-birth. I was really excited to get a few hours to myself and go to the salon. When I called to book my appointment I explained I needed a haircut and wanted some type of highlights but wasn't sure if I just needed a partial, face frame or what. I was told I could book a placeholder instead of committing to a particular service at the time of booking and talk with the stylist during the appointment to see what would be best. 5 minutes before my appointment I got a call from the nurse at the hospital something scary happened so I should come back. Since I was so close, I went into the salon and spoke with someone at the front desk and explained what was going on. NO ONE TOLD ME I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR LEAVING, or I would not have left and would've had my husband go to the hospital. A few days later, i noticed a charge for $340 on my cc statement. I called to find out why and the staff member told me bc I cancelled same day, the $ turned into a deposit and would be held on my account and I needed to reschedule in 2 weeks. NO ONE TOLD ME I WOULD LOSE 50% OF THE DEPOSIT and that they chose the highest cost service to place on the account even though they didn't know what I wanted done. I went for the re-scheduled appointment. The stylist, Indris, was amazing. The vibe and place were exactly what I needed to unwind and finally take care of myself for a few hours. I was in bliss the whole appointment. My partial highlights and haircut came out better than I anticipated. When it came time to check out, I anticipated being refunded some $ because there was no way I used $340 worth of credit on my account for the services I had done. To my shock, I was told I owe even more money because 50% was taken away for a no-show. The manager was an ass about the whole thing. He said he would call back later to discuss it bc he was busy... he never called. I was told notes were written in my account when I rescheduled and I wasn't given the time of day to see those notes, question how much my services that day actually cost, or question the fact that no one told me about this cancellation policy at the time of booking or rescheduling. I want to encourage ownership and staff dealing with appointments to be more transparent about your cancellation fees. Educate your staff to inform customers about this when booking and rescheduling. You could even include it in the many text reminders you gave about the upcoming appointment so ppl don't end up shocked, crying and disappointed like I was after my appointment. I then waited too long to contact my credit card company for a refund. When I wrote a negative review you finally responded to me and told me that customer satisfaction was your number one goal and when I told you I wanted a refund you failed to give me one. Case closed. Wow. Way to take responsibility for a dissatisfied customer. I was never told you had a 14 day policy. I called after finally realizing that the service was not effective and after a friend commented on it. I called twice. No one ever called me back. I have voicemails on my phone from that time and nothing from you. If I had seen several missed calls, I would have checked to see where they were from as I was anticipating a phone call from your salon. Nothing came in. I took two days off from work because I wanted to make sure the service was effective. The service provider told me to not wash my hair for 3 days. I have a job that requires me to wear my hair up. This would have put dents in my hair and I was specifically told not to put my hair up, nor get it wet. Regarding the price, the service provider was booked at a lesser rate than $192. I don't have long hair nor do I have thick hair. At the time my hair was a chin length bob. The price was listed in the $170 range. Even if you were offering a special, that does not negate the fact that I was still overcharged for the price of the service that I booked. You also don't need to gently point out that my credit card company said it was over the time limit. I pointed that out in my initial review. I called my credit card company as a last resort because I received no contact from your business. There is no aha moment here with your response to any of my points. If customer satisfaction is your number one goal, I am not a satisfied customer. The service provided to me was completely ineffective, and if you really wanted to make it right, you'd refund the money that I spent in your salon read more
