When I started looking for a piano teacher 6 years ago for my daughter and I was recommended Kat's Artist Tree by an acquaintance in the neighborhood. During the last 6 years my daughter has taken lessons in many of the fields offered, beginning with piano, clarinet and voice (including theater) and also dance, both jazz and ballet. I have been very impressed with the teachers that have taught her over the years. They have all been very skilled and knowledgeable, working well with the students but also the parents in helping to ensure the child's success. As a pianist and singer myself that had taken many years off (15 to be more precise) I chose to study piano again to reinforce habits for my daughter. I worked with an amazing, accomplished teacher and honed my skills as well. ALL levels can be taught here, not only beginners. Then I began singing again and love it! There are many adult opportunities to behold! I enjoy the opportunities students have to perform in recitals during the year helping them to gain confidence on stage at an early age. The theater is a lovely, professional way to showcase the accomplishments of students and it's exciting to be able to professionally record your own music instead recording studio right there too!! I My daughter has been lucky enough to enjoy multiple summer camps over the years from theater performance and singing to eco-fashion design and piano camp. She has always been excited to attend these camps and has persuaded many friends for join her over the years! The front office staff is super friendly and helpful and just plain nice, approachable people!! I really appreciate this especially when I ask a million questions!! I always feel I'm important and as if I'm never a bother to them. The owners Brian and Kat have taken what began as a smaller school to a whole new level. With their own personal extensive knowledge in to areas of music, theater, arts, sound/lighting and recording, I know I am receiving the best instruction possible because they only select the finest teachers. I can't say enough good things about Kat's! Moving around a lot with the military, my kids (ages 7 to 14) have been in many different music lesson situations and this is by far the best. They have so many talented and professional teachers and really care about fitting your child (or yourself - I take lessons as well and it's so much fun) with the right teacher. There are frequent performance opportunities, and that helps my kids work hard and make goals for learning and mastering new things. The recitals always feel like a special event and I love that there's a theater right in the building. We started over a year ago with various summer camps and have been here ever since. My kids love the camps and already talk about what they want to try next summer! I enrolled my daughter at Kat's Artist Tree as soon as we arrived back in the Phoenix area. Kat is such a wonderful teacher and so involved with all the students and their progress. She cares about everyone. As an adult, I was fortunate to take private lessons with Kat and she helped me tremendously. I have attended Kat's for several years now and absolutely love the time that I have spent there! The facility itself is so cute, displaying the art from the classes held there up on the walls. The staff is all so great and helpful, as well as the owners being incredibly hands-on. There is a personal touch and feel and if you attend a group class, often there are great bonds and friendships to be made. I have been taking private, vocal lessons from the owner, Kat, for over 4 years. Singing, music, and Kat have changed my life. I cannot imagine taking lessons from anyone else.
