Steppin' Out offers various Dance classes, usually through any West Valley city with the Parks & Rec Dept. Now they just opened their Dance Studio conveniently located in Litchfield Park across from the Post Office. The employees have always been friendly. The classes are fantastic. The prices are somewhat reasonable ($45 a month for 1 class a week + $15 reg fee). Sign up at any time. Checks ONLY, no cc payments. The waiting room is about the size of a child's bedroom, there are French Doors to view your kid practicing in the dance studio...and this makes it quite crowded when there are way MORE adults in the waiting room than kids in the dance class. Why so crowded? Are people bringing extra FAMILY members and a few bored neighbors too? Of course, some folks are oblivious to others in the waiting room and just park a chair right in front of the glass French doors, blocking the view for anyone else. There must be some sort of Fire Marshall law about HOW many people are permitted in this small space and blocking the door with chairs???? Nonetheless, you're better off signing up for their Dance Classes with the city instead, it was a bit little cheaper, not as crowded and the waiting area was NEVER filled with crowds of unnecessary people. read more

My daughter has been coming to Steppin' Out for years. They have truly become our second family. They care so much about each child and give each child encouragement and support. They work really hard to put on two recitals each year and also the summer shows. Honestly, this has been my daughter's second home at times and we are so grateful to the staff. We are going to miss coming here when she graduates. There are a lot of choices out there for a dance studio, but if you want a place that will treat your child like they would their own, this is the place to be! read more

Our daughter has been a part of the Steppin' Out family for a couple of years now. The dance teachers are kind, encouraging and talented. The owners are well organized and always there to answer any questions either through email or phone. The dance studio is small, however, that's why we love it. Our children have been going to Steppin Out for several years; we started with city classes and then moved to the studio when it opened last summer. Having previously been with another studio, we know firsthand how absolutely spectacular Steppin Out's dance programs are for our family! It's affordable. One class is pretty comparable to other studios in the area, but they offer a unique "unlimited" option where your dancer can take as many classes as you like for a flat fee - SO AWESOME. They have sweet family discounts too. They keep recital fees low. Tickets are $5 a person (we paid $10 at our last studio) and they keep costume fees low - $35-50, depending on the age (we paid at least $80 before, even when our kids were little). I don't feel like they are always trying to sell me something, which is really nice. The instruction is amazing - my kids learn and LOVE it! All of my dancers are at different skill levels, but there is something for each of them. This studio has completely wonderful instructors that genuinely care about my kids, but also teach dance in a way that encourages them to try hard and have fun at the same time. All of my dancers have improved their skills so much since coming to Steppin Out! Seriously, some studios are really great at ballet or hip hop and just okay at others - at Steppin Out they have fabulous teachers across the board. This is totally a no pressure studio. There isn't a huge emphasis on being competitive; rather there is more cohesion amongst the dancers than I have seen at other studios. The recitals are less stressful and pretty short; you won't be sitting in a crowded audience for four hours to see one song. They last about an hour (which is great if you are watching with siblings who aren't all that excited to be there) and are really entertaining. They have a Daddy-Daughter dance in each recital that is a beautiful tear jerker - totally not to be missed. On top of it being affordable and great instruction, the ladies that own this place are three of the nicest women I have met. They truly want the dancers to have a good experience. read more

We really love this studio. My daughter and son both started taking classes here last fall, and we love everything about it so far. The recitals are well done, my kids adore their instructors, and they have learned a lot. There is not a crazy "dance mom" culture, but just a great group of involved parents, and there are some very talented dancers here. I especially appreciate the fact that they have a GREAT boy culture here, and my son adores this about Steppin Out and feels supported and accepted in all of his classes (so far hip hop, tap, and ballet). In particular, Mr. Gabe's boy's hip hop/break dance class is an outstanding class with nothing like it anywhere in the West Valley. We searched high and low for a hip hop class that was geared more toward street style and break dance, and feel so lucky to have found this class! read more

This place is so friendly and they really care about the kids. They have been in the parks and rec. programs for years but their dance studio location in Litchfield Park is only a year old. As a result they have a lot of new young dancers (mostly kids 14 and under). I started in the parks and rec program and now my kids attend the studio. Although both programs are great, there is a difference between the two. The city programs are great for kids who are new to dance and want to just experience it as an introduction to basics. However the studio is where the kids are able to move to the next level and really become skilled dancers. I am so impressed with the talents and knowledge of the instructors in all the different dance styles. I have really seen both of my girls improve and what is more important is that they really love this place! The focus is on performing and learning instead of on competitions and high priced costumes. The kids still learn to be skilled dancers and technique is very important to their instructors; however, what is more important to them is that every child feels like a star and is valued. I have never seen favoritism. As a parent I can't imagine a better environment for my kids and I am so thankful that I have this place. My kids have some great role models in their Steppin' Out instructors. They do 3 recitals a year: In Dec, early June, and late Aug. They do really fun themed shows and they always choose very age appropriate music, costumes, narration, etc. Tickets are only $5 per seat which compared to other studio is at least half price. Costumes are usually around $45 or so and that is again incredible when compared to the $80 costume charges at other studios (and sometimes it is for the same costumes). I am amazed at how inflated the charges are at some studios. Again this speaks to how this company is focused on the kids and the experience rather then on over charging for everything. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a friendly atmosphere where their child can learn and have a good time. It is for families who want their child to learn a skill but also want them to learn to be kind and encouraging to others. Do not come to this studio if you are really into competitions or if you are a "stage mom" who likes to gossip about others, as you will not fit in to this friendly environment. read more

This studio is a complete joke! They never answer the phone and are incapable of running a functioning studio. Every event/interaction I have had with them had an issues of some kind. Currently can't get a ahold of anyone to get my daughter's dance pics that never came after they have been paid for. So unimpressed with the dress rehearsal that we PAID $5/ ticket and didn't even bother going. After a 12 week class 1/2 the kids didn't even know what they were doing, and what they were doing was very little dancing and more waving hands in the air and spinning in circles. After moving to AZ we started looking for a dance studio for my 3 year old daughter who was taking Tap/Ballet where we lived in CA. I called around to numerous places based off a Google search but wasn't happy with the pricing, or the types of classes they offered for my daughters age group (a lot of hip hop classes for toddlers). Being that she already started Tap and Ballet I wanted to keep up with that. I happened to drive by this place as it is right next to my house and later called/emailed to get more info. We have been going since June and my daughter loves it! The recitals are so CUTE! My kiddo LOVES her teacher (Gabby) and I love that Gabby is SO GOOD with little kids. She has a very kind and no nonsense teaching method that keeps the girls in line and I really love it! My daughter has learned more steps from her than she did from all her lessons in CA. Would highly recommend this place to others. The ONLY downfall is that they very rarely answer the phone (practically never), BUT they are very quick to answer emails. LOVE THIS PLACE read more

Great studio! I highly recommend Steppin Out. They have great prices, instructors, and they put on shows that are actually fun to watch (even for my husband and son)! They have fantastic preschool age programming. Classes for this age group tend to fill fast because they are popular, so be sure and reserve your spot at the start of a new session if you want to guarantee a spot.
