No big whoop.
I had heard about this place last year, and therefore had been anxiously waiting for the right friend to go with. After making reservations online, the excitement grew even further. Upon arrival I noticed how small the place was, in comparison to how many cats are in there. It's quite a lot for such a small space! Unless of course, they live somewhere else after the place closes?
The food is overpriced for what it is, and the selection extremely limited, as there is no kitchen. I got hummus and bread, which I interpreted to mean a hummus sandwich. But in fact, it was actually just hummus and bread. Not worth the money in my opinion, and nothing at all to write home about. Dry, tasteless, grainy, and overpriced.
The owner/manager walks around scolding people on how to pet, or not pet the cats. I was there for an hour and a half and heard her scold 4 patrons, including me for wanting to pet a cat while I had food on my table.
If the cats are so sensitive, aggressive, diabetic, or old, then why the hell put them in a cafe with cakes, children, and hoards of people going in and out all day? Folks go there for the purpose of having a nice drink and possibly petting a cat! Had the owner been warmer she may not have inspired such twisted faces after being reprimanded. Each time loud enough for everyone to hear, and each time, the patron was shocked and just sat down shamefully. I'm willing to bet that none would return.
Two stars for the shabby chic granny decor, which is actually quite cute with all the kitties, but could go even kitschier! And, for the kitties who are trapped in this cafe and seemingly want no affiliation with the patrons. In good faith I couldn't recommend this place, but wouldn't discourage for folks to see for themselves. read more
