After being with a major pharmacy chain for years and enduring long hold times on the phone, being hung up on, and being ignored, the service I experienced at Katz could make me cry tears of joy. I recently had medication called into the major pharmacy chain. The medication was called in on a friday at 9AM. The medication was NOT ready at 10AM the following day. When i called to seek guidance on the medication, I was placed hold for 30 minutes and then deliberately hung up on. I called Katz and someone picked up the phone almost immediately. I spoke to the pharmacist who took all my information and initiated a transfer of my medication from the big pharmacy to Katz. This call took place at 1030 AM - at 11AM THE SAME day, i received a call with details about a possible hold on my insurance and after discussing, I was able to push through and my medications were ready at 12PM. I appreciate the service here at Katz and I will be sending all future scripts to them from here on out. read more

For the most part I have been getting my medicine from katz but today 8/19/2021 my doctor wanted me to get Metamucil powder a young lady that worked there told me that company don't make the power anymore,something kept telling me to look it up but I didn't so she gave me this powder called reguloid and said this is Metamucil instead of saying this is a fiber supplement well when I got home I realized Metamucil still makes the powder and the one she gave me Reguloid is made with real sugar when Metamucil is sugar free...I was disappointed that I got misleading information ,I don't want to give katz drug store a bad rating because most of the time I have received good customer service from them but today was not that way read more

Katz is my neighborhood pharmacy and whenever I need a prescription, they are incredibly fast to get it filled and ready. They are reliable, consistent, which is something I think is important for a pharmacy. I never have a wait time and the staff is friendly! Only note is that they never give me any notes on for my prescriptions, but I do read the directions so maybe they just rely on that?! read more

It's ok to make mistakes but not with my medication. They completely incompetent. They have young girls working the register who should actually be informed pharmacy tech ensuring you're leaving with the appropriate medication. They don't. I was given the WRONG medication even after confirming with a pharmacist because the young woman couldn't explain the medications to me. When I called 5 days later after getting sicker and not understanding why the guys said oh sorry we made a mistake. I told a friend in the area and she said a few of her friends had the same issue even getting someone else's medications. Insane that this keeps happening and all they say is oh yep sorry. It is a hectic and crowded place and unprofessional. Be safe and value your health go to another pharmacy there are many to choose from. read more

Horrible service. Spoke to someone who told me I had to text a front/back photo of my insurance to a number they provided. I did so and did not hear back for a week. Followed up and was told they no longer accepted texts of insurance cards...so why was I told to text? Everyone I spoke to was rude, so I asked them to transfer my prescription to a CVS and they refused - despite my doctor telling me they had to. They also lied to me that a prescription I needed was sold out "state wide", meanwhile CVS had it. Overall disgusting customer service - much better off going with another pharmacy. read more

It's NOT on the Southside. It's close to the intersection of Flushing, Broadway, and Graham Avenue. About 3 blocks from Woodhull hospital. This is a real drug store with lots of friendly help who aren't too pushy but are there for you. I needed a certain hair product that I couldn't find anywhere and they got it for me. Yesterday I needed a prescription and I went to three chain stores. You can guess who they were. None had it and all wanted me to wait one or two days until the truck came from where-ever. Also at one of the chains I was definitely mistreated. Ignored while the pharmicist and her assistant or chatted about their boyfriends. I remembered Katz and tried them. BINGO! They had it in stock and I got it the same day. Thank you Mr. Katz or who ever is the new owner. Great Service. read more

Yay to supporting small businesses! I found this place after Walgreens no longer accepted my insurance. The Pharmacy staff is really nice and helpful. The prices on things like paper towels and dish soap are pretty low. I will come here first before the larger chains now. read more

Having recently moved to Bushwick, I went to the pharmacy desk at Katz Drugs to transfer a prescription. The staff was friendly and after only a few minutes of waiting, the pharmacist stopped out to see me and told me it would be a few more minutes - a shorter wait than at my old pharmacy where they already had my prescription on file. I'm fond of the details here too. Checkered linoleum floor inside, stainless & neon sign on beautiful turquoise blue tile outside, plus the pill bottles are skinny and deep blue in color which I like better than the chunky bottle at other places. read more

When I realized that my insurance was not accepted by any of the major chains near me, I was terrified. Fortunatley for me, Katz Drugs exists. The Pharmacy is efficient, it's staff attentive, and its prices affordable. Refilling my prescriptions while speaking with a "real person" has been fantastic. read more

Katz is a little drugstore that looks like it has been there forever. They have a pharmacy and many of the necessity items that once you run out of, you need ASAP and don't want to trek far for, like toothpaste, tampons, lotion, soap, etc. Prices are pretty fair too. I got toothpaste and a box of those Playtex Gentle Glide 20 tampons for $8.34. The people that work there are very nice too, which is always a bonus. read more

I've been living in bushwick for a while. This place hasn't been in the neighborhood that long. This is the only place that provides the similac alumentum that I know of and they never have it. My infant didn't have any milk and I went here with my wic checks to get some. They did not have the powdered form They only had one bottle of ready to feed. Which they refused to give me in the place of the powered. I took my last and I bought the bottle of milk. Then they informed me that the company would no longer be providing them with the powdered mix. So I had to go home and search who else carries this milk. I have checks all the way until may.
