Here's the deal. The onboarding process is horrible. If you try to transfer a prescription, they ask for the pharmacy and the doctor. But after a few days, they usually say they tried and you will have to have it sent it in... even though my pharmacy and doctor were never called. Most pharmacies will go to the end of the earth to get things transferred but not Amazon. Their phone representatives are all friendly but have no authority or knowledge and the pharmacists seem just a cut below normal pharmacists. But once you have all your drugs in the system, it's heaven. My insurance approves 90 day supplies.... which I never had at Ralphs's. And drugs arrive same day or next day. And the cost is so low. They give you the insurance price or their price... so can choose the lowest. It's a dream. Ask you doc to send in 90 day supplies with 3 refils and you'll be set for the year! read more

There is No selection for 1/2 star and that's what they deserve. service : 1. the worse the pharmacist told me after the medication they send me gave me a Bad Allergic Reaction. (Swollen arm , rash burning x 3 days) He said (pharm) . Just stop taking it and wait 3 months for the next refill. And we cannot request a new one until that's one is due Then you can call back for the new Rx. Originally I enrolled time about 9 months ago . At that time they Lost my medication. It was delivered to another person in another city . $8500. Was the cost of my medication. And all they said We are sorry and we have to wait for the request from the Dr. to send a new one. 1 month later I got it . You can never just select to call and speak to a real person/ pharmacist. You have to go thru the chat and ask after a 1 hr. Disappointment then you get a call . I would Never recommend Amazon. if you take important , $$$, or 1 st time members to this pharmacy selection . Talk about horrendous customer service! First of all, you can't actually speak to anyone, it's all via chat which means you'll be passed from one person who can't answer your questions to the next. My doc sent a prescription that specified a particular brand due to my allergic reaction to the generic. They sent a three month supply of the generic and then refused to exchange for what my doc ordered. They did not take a minute to confirm my prescription with clearly stated instructions. Now I have to deal with my insurance to override the 3 month supply issue. Convenience will never replace competence. Amazon Pharmacy fails big time, and is willing to loose customers rather than right their wrongs. read more

They lost my shipment or was damaged, and then tell me that they cannot refill the prescription and i would have to wait until my next monthly delivery. of course this is all in a chat box and no number to call...when i first get on the chat it says bare with me i will return in a few minutes, lets call it five minutes, finally they send me a message and before i can respond respond back, and before i can send it, they send me a message that if i didnt respond soon they would end my chat. Did a replacement order that never delivered as well . They stated its just late. I read more than she did and she works there , It literally stated this item has not been scanned for delivery. But she kept telling me it was on its way just late. I told her to just quit with the excuses and lies . They used 2 of my refills and had no consideration for putting the 2 refills back after 2 failed deliveries. I had to demand the refills be put back and talk to someone higher up who was capable. Then told me I could only get 1 refill back . Luckily im not as dumb as they thought. I worked in retail pharmacy for 5 years. The pharmacist then asked if i had proof of my other failed refill as I replied to as yes yes I do . I recently switched to Amazon Pharmacy for my Zepbound prescription. Walgreens had been inconsistent, often being out of stock causing me to receive a dose a day or two later. In addition, Walgreens will only do a 30-day supply. My first experience with Amazon Pharmacy was stellar! My doc sent the script to Amazon and the next day I received my 3 month supply via mail in an ice packed box. It could not have been easier! My co-pay with Walgreens had been $13 per 30-day supply. I get my medications in perforated packets, but for the past two months there have been no perforations. Cutting between the packets causes the next packet to split open and spill. This month they sent all my meds in bottles and said they were having trouble "syncing with my insurance." Interesting, because when I contacted my insurance they said that wasn't a thing. Amazon sent a picture of my scrip on my porch, and when I got home it was nowhere to be found. I asked for replacement and told them I'd pay for it. I told them remodelers were working at our house, and that it was chaos. They told me I'd need a new scrip, which would cost me another $175 Dr's visit. I'm appalled that medication in the classification named Schedule IV is not dispensed by Amazon Pharmacy. Specifically, Ambien and Klonopin, in my case. I've relied on both for literally 40 years. Quality of life is poor. My mood is not great. They influence how I take care of myself, what I eat, whether I exercise, my interactions with everyone, among so many things. Do I leave my house? Basic and non-basic everyday activities. Amazon Pharmacy is not alone with this new approach to necessary medicine. This has nothing to do with insurance or Medicare. For people unfamiliar with medical classification, Schedule I meds are only available for research. Schedule II meds include narcotics and amphetamines. As the Roman Numerals increase, the less restricted the medicines. All require special DEA licenses which every doctor possesses after one year of internship training. Again, I must emphasize Quality of Life, and lack thereof. Are pharmacy owners afraid of hiring adequate staffing? Are pharmacy owners just too concerned with cutting corners and cutting customer service? This has everything to do with money and profits at the cost of lives. People will ultimately perish from poor quality of life by simply not taking care of themselves adequately. Do pharmacy owners make more money when chronically ill people die? Insurance costs are much higher for chronically ill people who take poor care of themselves. Obesity, Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, numerous trips to doctors, numerous multiple medical complications lead to innumerable trips for complex treatments, and so on and on. A snowball running down the hill. A rolling stone gathering moss. More applicable cliches. Ask your insurance representative. Ask why they offer early intervention programs. Ask why they award prepaid grocery store credit cards for screenings, such as mammograms and yearly doctor check-ups. Blood tests for cholesterol and diabetes. Etc. Lets all stand up and fight for our health and for that of persons who are not able to fight for themselves. None of us is in this alone when we all do what is just and moral. read more

Now that Amazon has acquired Pillpack it is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!! We used Pillpack since 2018 and LOVED it!! The packaging and labeling was amazing and our son, who has epilepsy, has come to depend on his packets to keep his meds in order. Amazon is not keeping the delivery options that Pillpack had. Now only some of his meds will be in packs, and others in bottles - totally undermining the purpose of Pillpack!!! They say that they're reviewing their polcy, but what do we do until then? Should be zero stars. Amazon forced me to switch from a long time customer in the Pillpack service that they bought, to Amazon pharmacy. That experience is an unmitigated disaster. Amazon decided my prescriptions were optional, they decided to ship 2 of 7. Then when you contact in chat or by phone the only thing they can tell you is that they don't know what is going on and can't fix anything. So you have to log in and try to fix it yourself, but the online portal is malfunctioning, but if you do ever find the page to order a hold over supply and go through the ordering process then it will tell you that they can't give you your insurance price, so you will have to pay the cash pay price. Come on Jeff! This ain't socks and batteries! If you can't do this right don't do it at all. And don't buy the company that was doing it right and put them out of business! It's really really bad. It's nothing like ordering products from their regular site. You can't see the price with insurance until it's the day you can refill your Rx. So the price is a surprise. It's much more expensive. If you don't have Prime, the Rx takes a minimum of 5 days to arrive. Their customer service is also really dismissive and horrible. read more

One of the problems with being adopted is that when doctors ask you for your family medical history, you don't know what it is, and you can't really answer. I started suffering from migraines when I was 9-10 years old, and I figured that was an affliction I probably shared with my birth mother (much later on, when she contacted me and we re-united, I learned that she had never had a headache in her life, and I shared the affliction with my maternal grandmother). When I was in my 30s, I was told my cholesterol was pretty high, and I was asked if I wanted to start medication, or did I want to try diet/exercise? I chose diet (well...not really) and exercise (really) and that seemed to work. For a while. In my early 40s, my birth mother was able to locate me, and I finally learned the hard truth. Heart disease, cancer, high cholesterol, diabetes, migraines-- they were all part of the family history. I also had a great aunt with hemochromatosis, an affliction I had never heretofore heard of. Evidently, it's a blood disorder that Irish people are susceptible to, and my birth mother told me I should get checked for it. As she put it, "My other kids have been tested for it, and they don't have it, but you're more Irish than they are. Your father was full Irish." (I share the same mother with my siblings, but we have different fathers; after breaking up with my birth father, my birth mother married an Italian, and after she divorced him, she married a Ukranian.) So, I got tested. The results? I have the gene for it, which means I could develop the actual disorder at any time. Have to get my blood tested every few months. Did I ever say I was born under an unlucky star? Probably ad nauseam. At a family gathering not that long after I was contacted by my birth mother, my maternal uncle...12 years older than me...pulled me aside and said, "I'll give you the good news and the bad news. Good news--- your grandmother sitting over there is pushing 90, she's mentally alert, physically healthy, active and involved in life. Bad news? There's not a male in this family who lived beyond his 50s." Did I say I was born under...?...yeah, I did. Sorry. I've written in other reviews some of the medical travails I'm facing now, as I approach what some sadistic joker way back when labeled "the Golden Years." One of those travails is high cholesterol, which raises its ugly head once again. This time, the doctor looked at me after the blood tests came back, and said doubtfully, "Do you want to try diet and exercise? Or would you...?" Resigned, I finished the sentence for him-- "Medication." I'm not used to "long-term" medication, and I'm certainly not used to "mail-order" medication. I've been taking my migraine medication for years, but I don't take it every day, only when I get an "attack." So that medication I can handle at my local pharmacy. Call in for a re-fill and pick it up in person. But cholesterol medication? I was told I would have to use "Amazon Pharmacy." I wasn't thrilled about that, but I wasn't offered a ton of options. As in--- no other options. But I have to declare-- I've been pleasantly surprised by how it works. Once I got over a few speed bumps in setting it up, and some minor confusion, it has run pretty seamlessly. As I'm running out of pills, I get a notification to order another bottle of pills, I hit the "order" button to submit my co-pay (which isn't really very much) ...hit the "order" button just like I do when I'm ordering a book or a CD...and the medication is on my doorstep in a day or so. Recently, I felt some trepidation as the notification was that I'd have to get another prescription. I anticipated a trip to the doctor's office, or haggling over the phone with the office staff, or encountering more speed bumps in trying to set it all up again, but Amazon Pharmacy actually made it very easy. In the next email, they indicated they were in touch with my doctor's office, that they had gotten approval for the new script, and after hitting the "order" button-- my pills were on their way. If only acquiring opioids had been so easy back in the day! (Just kidding...in actuality, acquiring them back in the day was almost too easy...) I see a lot of negative reviews here, and I have no doubt they've been submitted by genuinely aggrieved parties, but my experience so far has been pretty much trouble-free. If you need long-term, continuous medicine or services, Amazon Pharmacy is a recommended way to go. At least by me. At least so far. read more

Blue Shield no longer allows me to use Costco mail order and made me use Amazon. i have spent more time trying to get my automatic refills, it's ridiculous. even if the prescription is through next year they can't get it right. what headache, blue shield should get in trouble for the fiasco i and my doctors are being put through. I had to fight the Amazon pharmacy to try to get them to run my prescriptions through my insurance and they even after I got them on three-way calls and got their approvals through they still tried to charge me full price for my prescriptions without my insurance. And then when I went to try to get it my prescriptions away from them it took me over a month to get them to release those prescriptions to someone else. Do not use the Amazon pharmacy because they will not run your prescriptions through your insurance. Amazon Pharmacy can be Good IF used along with your Local Pharmacy The result of my experience after 9 months of using Amazon Pharmacy (I'm a Prime member) (as of 1/10/2025): 1) DO use Amazon Pharmacy (AP) if you have MAINTENANCE meds to refill regularly like blood pressure, cholesterol lowering, or any other meds you refill regularly, OR if you are filling a script that is not time-sensitive. 2) DO use AP if you are NOT concerned about a one business day delay or rescheduling of delivery of your medication occasionally. Scripts usually arrive within two business days. 3) DO use AP if you want to be given the option before ordering to use insurance or NOT. Often, AP's price for a prescription medication is well below the "Insurance Price" of the medication. You can check both before ordering. 4) DO use AP if you want the ability to display/print a consolidated report of all orders for any time period with details and prices paid for your meds. 5) DO NOT use AP if you are ordering time-sensitive or time-critical prescription medications. Use your local pharmacy instead and check both your insurance price and the GoodRx (or similar vendor) price at your local pharmacy to get the best deal while keeping in mind that choosing not to use your insurance for prescription medications may affect your insurance deductible/copay amounts through the benefit year. 6) Instead of trying to "fix" a prescription that's already at AP and with which you're having trouble, sometimes it's easier to message your provider to ask the m to send a new prescription to AP. All in all, AP has been a complement to my local CVS pharmacy. I don't consider it to be a replacement. If I need a script as soon as as possible it goes to my local CVS and if I need a maintenance refill later on I ask the PROVIDER (not CVS -- CVS will not transfer scripts to AP!!!) to send a new script to AP. I feel sort of bad for people who are forced by their health plans to use ONLY Amazon Pharmacy. I know how frustrating it must be if you have to contact a human, and AP better get its s--t together in terms of providing better human-based customer service read more

If I could give Amazon Pharmacy negative stars, I would. First, the account structure is a nightmare. When your child or teenager has an Amazon profile, Amazon creates a separate profile for Pharmacy use--automatically. This caused a major mess when my daughter went to college and became an adult. Her graduation gift cards were orphaned in one profile, prescriptions in another, and a third "adult" profile was created when she aged out. It took three customer service teams and over 2.5 hours to fix it. Now the same thing is happening with my son, who needs asthma medication while my husband is traveling. One profile handles shopping, another handles Pharmacy--and guess what? Amazon says this is "as designed." Zero stars. On top of that, his prescription was declined because Amazon submitted the wrong claim. I had to act as the go-between for the doctor and pharmacy, but couldn't get support without a security code sent to my husband's phone (who was out of town). Apparently, Amazon never considered that both parents might need to manage a minor's prescription. Negative Stars If Amazon Pharmacy had just coordinated with the doctor and insurance--like our local pharmacy does--I wouldn't have been stuck on hold, transferred across three teams. Negative Stars HEB is looking better and better. For a company that prides itself on being "customer-centric," Amazon Pharmacy's setup feels like it was built by people who've never actually used it. I had a problem with a medication, so the manufacturer sent a replacement to Amazon. The manufacturer cannot by law dispense drugs. Amazon Pharmacy received it but refuses to send it on to me. They are keeping the drug, valued at $800, and will not send me the drug or refund my money. They have stolen this from me...I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and the insurance won't cover it so it has been stolen directly from me. read more

I have just spent several hours and many phone calls attempting to resolve some issue that Amazon Pharmacy has with filling one of my prescriptions. I have a Co-Pay card that reduces my price from around $1,150 for a 90 day supply (with insurance) to $30/90 day supply. I've used these Co-Pay cards for many years with no issues from local pharmacies. I got as high up the supervisor ladder as I could and was told it is against their policy to call the Pharmaceutical companies or their Co-pay management numbers. I had a direct line and was told that they should be able to resolve the issue if Amazon Pharmacy would call them. Very poor customer service!!! I was not called back or contacted, despite being told that they would several times. Guess I am going to have to wait in the long lines at the local pharmacy. I used the Amazon Pharmacy to fill my prescription. They sent me an opened-cream tube. I called them and requested to send me an unopened cream tube. They sent me another an opened cream tube again. I called them again and they already used up all of the refill (1) only. They want me to call my doctor to put in a refill. My doctor said it's Amazon Pharmacy fault who didn't fulfill my order and use up my refill too. The Amazon Pharmacy refused to fix their mistakes. I ended up trash 2 tubes of prescription cream because they sent me the opened ones. Who has confident to use the cream which are already open? The Amazon Pharmacy is such a fraud who sent me opened products and costed me money, and I have trash them. They are unprofessional and fraud. I will report them to the pharmacy bar association. Also, don't try to transfer it to a local pharmacy, they don't return calls to pharmacists and make you wait on hold for extremely long times.
