I don't mean some Pittsburgh themed shirt that you can find on any shelf, but local shops that specialize in tees that are made just for their shop. I love finding a shirt that gets people talking and of course the compliments that come with them. One day recently when I had time to walk the streets of Oakland I made sure that I made a stop here. I knew of this place in only that it existed. I also knew that this place dealt with creating and producing designs if you are in need of that. But I was not here for that. I walked in and it is a rather small place for shopping, but that's not what this place is designed to do. They are basically here to serve you with your needs. There are two desks as you walk in that have people sitting at to help you through the process of designing you soon to be one of a kind shirt. Along with that there are a few wall racks and floor racks with shirts specifically designed for Pitt and Pittsburgh for purchase, that's what I was here for. I browsed the racks and had to make a tough decision. Their designs are great and I really wanted more than one but I was refraining because I know that I go overboard when it comes to tees. The pricing is the norm and quite honestly you are able to find a steal of a deal here. I walked out with a shirt that asks, "Yinz want fries on that?" How perfect is that for a Pittsburgh novelty shirt? Accurate.

The price seemed high at first, but my husband still has sweatshirts for over 6 years now with countless washings. And he is not gentle on his clothing, to say the least. They utilize something called Shop by Shopify, which I had never heard of. Why do I call it an ILLEGAL SCAM? Because AFTER you place your order, you are informed that your data has been saved by Shopify. Not BEFORE, never with your permission, and never with your consent. I wrote both InkPixi and Shopify, complaining about this blatant invasion of my privacy. Both replies said that to avoid this, I should check out as guest, as only account holders have information saved. A blatant LIE! I did check out as a guest, I do NOT have an account with InkPixi! InkPixi's response did include a link to have my data removed, but that will take about 30-days, when it should have never been saved in the first place. Again, this is NOT a review of the products of InkPixi, which are of excellent quality. This is a review of what I consider to be an ILLEGAL SCAM of a business practice.

The first time I ordered, I needed a hoody created literally; same day. I had uploaded my design and my custom order was prepared with art on the front and back of a black hoody with color. Once your design is ready, you provide your current location and they search for the nearest t-shirt print shop to fulfill the order. For me, it was 26 minutes away, and no big deal. The second time I ordered really upset me. I was super excited to attend Game 4 of the NDLS Mets vs Phillies at Citi Field in Queens. I was at work already 2 hours away, and later headed to pick up my cousin at the half-way point Elizabeth, NJ. I uploaded my design and chose Elizabeth, NJ for my pick up location. I placed the order the day before late in the evening and had confirmation it would be ready by 11:30 "from" Elizabeth. Notice the "from"? "From" is significantly different that the word "in". I also didn't pay for any expedited service which they can do if you need something printed A$AP Rocky. Anyway, I got an email the following morning at about 9 something saying my order is available for pick up in Washington, NJ! Another 1hr from Elizabeth, NJ. I contacted them and a customer service agent offered to deliver it from Washington, NJ directly to me in Lakewood for $80! I kindly reminded the support agent that I didn't ask for it to be printed in Washington, NJ AND why am I paying for the delivery. She then tried to offer a 10% discount on the delivery. You can't make this sh*t up! After losing my patience entirely and getting no where with the agent, I escalated it to a refund. Still, nothing was easy. They only offered a partial refund with delivery of the hoody 7 days later. If I haven't already expressed my discontent that I needed the hoody that day, I was so livid. Anyway, it was a helluva game, and I never received a refund and still nice enough to give it 4 stars. Just be mindful of everything I told you if you ever use them to make a design or upload your own.

After order confirmation, then informed me, they could have it available for pickup 90 minutes from where they said it would be available. Also note, I do not live in a rural area, so this is completely unacceptable. They then proceeded to tell me I could get it delivered same day but I would have to pay an additional $20. In addition, I was on chat with customer service and the moment I asked for a cancellation and a refund, they never responded, although previously responding expeditiously. This is typical bait and switch. Do not order from them under any circumstances.

The prices were moderate and reflected the artists' amount of skill and time. The employee in the store made some courteous conversation with us. She immediately and correctly rang up our purchase and sincerely thanked us. I recommend this store for people who want to buy a gift for a family member, friend, or themselves.

And I'm not talking touristy socks, or scented soap (these things might be here but I saw no socks). Instead this is a flea market type store with custom curated items, handmade gifts, things you'd find in Etsy, custom unique jams, pickles, jelly, pins, magnets, unique jewelry (think black cat earrings), vintage glassware, stickers galore (think everything from cute to Spencer's type humor), pop culture references in magnets, custom candles (in beer cans), smurfs glasses, and the list goes on. The prices are fair, I spent about 50$ on a jelly, pickles, 4 stickers (3$ a piece), and 2 vintage glasses (12$ a piece). The lady who checked us out was super kind, she wrapped our glassware appropriately with bubble wrap, she was engaged, and helpful in learning about the company. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to get gifts to come here.
