I have no idea what took me so long to review, as I grab tea to go from here a couple of times per week on my way home. But I LOVE this lounge. I'm relatively new to kava/kratom usage, and let me say it was the BEST experience. I want to base my review on my visit and time actually spent at the lounge. When we arrived we were greeted, given an info sheet/menu of the various products & their history, & we found some comfy chairs next to a small dog lol. Now I am not going to pretend to be a recreational drug user, but as a woman in her mid thirties, I've tried my fair share of things. Kava tops all of that. I cannot remember which kava I had (I think it was dazed & amused), but it came in a large glass, & tasted slightly sweet. While drinking, the movie we were there to see was turned on, and the lights turned down. I was about 15 mins into my drink when everything became... super clear. Love this place but its clientele is a little strange. They ave a double strength Kratom that was too nasty for me. Overall a nice place.

Such a chill place to hangout and socialize. My girlfriend and I went last, and were waited on by Kat. She had great recommendations to give and even got us to 'Bula' with her with some Kava extract shots that were VERY potent. Loved the non alcoholic buzz & Loved even more the great conversation. Let us talk. I am so fortunate to have shining stars in my life that introduce me to amazing new places. I recently ventured into unknown territory with a new person and am becoming more well rounded by the second. Peter, introduced me to his "tea spot". Before coming here I assumed some hipster coffee & tea place, nothing short of Central Florida flare. I'm a huge fan of Austin's down the street so I've seen it in passing only a million times and never thought much of it. Little did I know I would open the door and immediately be infatuated. Everything, the ambiance, the aura, the sincere personalities that let loose and shine inside. I adore it. I can understand how easy it is to feel known here. Known as a familiar face and an inviting hello, to regulars, even more than that. Anyways, the tea is obviously not what I was expecting as it was kava. I have since been back twice and tried something different both times. I haven't found "my" tea yet, but I'll keep you posted. Idk if I'm supposed to say or if it's exclusive, but they do have a movie night every Sunday. Always great service, open mics are fun on monday, and other days have different things going on. Staff is informative and hand sanitizer is available (you just have to look for it or ask, hard to see the tiny bottle with everything going on) Bathrooms are usually very clean. Sometimes a crowd might all order their drinks at once so you may have to expect a short wait in order for your drink to be made. My concern is that I wish more people wore masks when not drinking or when less than 6 feet from each other. My husband and i tried their kava and kratom drinks last night. It supposed to help me relax after dri king these two combo but i didnt feel anything at all except for the numbness in my throat which was weird for me. We went there on a monday night and they have open mic session where people can sing whatever song they created. I think this is the hippiest place ive ever been. This is a cute little lounge in Winter Park. Adam served us some kava and kratam. I like the variety they have and they can cut it with some juice to take the gritty dirt taste. I had the John Wick and Kapow (I think). I don't mind the taste, but I did start to feel good with both drinks. Later in the day I started to feel sick. Idk if it's because it was my first time doing both (strong drinks) at the same time, but it made me a little nauseous. I would come back and hang out with some friends. This quaint little spot in Winter Park serves up a variety of Health tonics in a chill atmosphere where with every visit, you feel like a part of the family. I'm a big fan of the stress reducing Dirty Kava with Ashwagandha root, known and used in India for its calming and anxiety reducing properties. The Dirty Kava is made up of chocolate coconut water among other things and is a delicious way to end the day. Every Sunday is movie night at the Kava Cove Lounge with popcorn served and a great movie each week. Matt and Adam are a wealth of knowledge of the various health benefits of each of the drinks served here which can be enjoyed on the spot or at home. Have been coming here for years and can say this place is a second home to me and so many others. Especially within the lgbt community. I wanted to state that as i saw a negative review by a man describing his experience being heckled after he chose to give a very questionable stand up routine for kava coves open mic. He also decided to describe another long time regular of kava cove a "lgbt freak" in the review but i just wanted to clarify for the owner or anyone for that matter that this kava bar has many lgbt people in it and that there were many more than just one person heckling him and far more people he made uncomfortable with his inappropriate jokes that were both blatantly misogynistic and transphobic. The staff handled it much better than i personally would have and i hope the owner knows that every worker at kava cove has done so much to curate a community not just for us lgbt people, but for the entire kava cove community in general. And i think its great that everyone puts the regulars and their friends first over some rando who decided he wanted to be a bad comedian today. This place is such a gem! I've been going to Kava bars for years, but I've never been able to stomach the actual kava.... until here. They have a drink called Instant Happiness (it totally works!) and how ever they prepare it, it tastes delicious. Also, everyone I met was friendly and outgoing - I felt totally welcomed and at home, even though it was my first time. After event KAVA drinks. My brother told me about this spot so the wife and I decided to check it out since we were in the area following another solid YELP event at the Enzian. Adam took good care of us this was my first KAVA drink experience and he was knowledgeable and explained everything informatively. I had the "Instant Happiness" which is a fruity mix of V8 and Kava, it was tastey. The wife had the "John Wick" which was a lil rooty for me and left the roof of my mouth temporarily numb but not bad. We then both had a Kratom Kapow shots that pretty tarty but I liked it. The decor was nice islandy and laid back. Pool table and foos ball available we didnt partake this time but next visit we may have do some foos ball. Overall an enjoyable experience wish it was a lil closer but we will go back to try some other flavors. I finally made it into Kava Cove after my friend's recommendation. The decor and music are relaxing and the staff is great. I'd never had kava before so Angela explained the menu to us and let us sample the it (it's got a very earthy taste - I definitely recommend the mixed kava drinks over the straight shots of it). We had the tropical and mocha flavored drinks and split the Kava Mojito. It all tasted great and I felt very relaxed and chatty by the end of it. I'd definitely go back. In fact I did a few days later to get some kava drinks to go. Apparently when school's in a lot of students hang out here and drink kava while doing their work.
