The cocktail bar upstairs is quite cool and a lot of fun. Lorn C. and I decided to try this place out after the Yelpies awards event after we noticed it walking to our cars. You are greeted by the doorman who takes your driver's license to insert into a handheld device as part of the city of Orlando's policy for identification. (First time, we experienced that at a downtown bar, so maybe it's a new ordinance?) We went up the stairs to a spacious bar area, complete with couches, a nice size bar with comfortable seats and a dance floor (which was rocking and packed later in the evening). Our bartender took a while to get to us when we arrived around 9:30pm, but he made some excellent cocktails. We tried the Dancing Queen (vodka), the Studio 54 (gin) and the Saturn (gin), but our favorite was the Studio 54. The others were good, but the Studio 54 was a perfect mix that was not too sweet, with a nice cucumber slice in the glass. By 11pm, the place was filled with people all around the bar, and the merengue dance music was pumping. The beat got us into the mood (the cocktails helped) and we tried the dance floor ourselves. It was a blast! The only downside was the availability of the bar staff to keep up with the crowd. We tried to flag down one bartender to get our check, and she acknowledged us but never came over after 10 minutes. Luckily, we finally caught the attention of our original bartender, did the "check signing" pose with our hand and he brought over our check in short order. This has been a favorite downtown cocktail location of mine for years! Stopped by to catch up with a friend early on a Saturday, around 8pm. Location was quiet, clean and chilly. Bartender came to check in us quickly and chatted throughout the night. Great service and is still the best Old Fashioned I've had in Downtown Orlando - not to sweet like many locations and really highlights the bourbon. Added bonus is the half off happy hours including on weekends! Location is central to many other downtown stops including live jazz right around the corner. read more

Slightly overpriced drinks, though strong. My gin and tonic was almost 50% gin, which I didn't particularly like. The bar area looks nice, but, based on its outside and upstairs looks (where their cafe is) I thought that the upstairs area would look a little bit more upscale. The Robinson Cocktail Lounge is very dark and moody, in a mid-century glam kind of way. What I love is that it is the perfect start or stop when spending an evening downtown. I say it is nice to start there because you can get a yummy craft cocktail or two before making your way to a bar with fewer specialty options. They have a menu with cocktails unique to their brand/location, as well as a full bar for all of your fav classics. The upstairs cocktail lounge opens at 7pm, so most recently my husband and I got an early dinner, then grabbed a drink at the Robinson before heading to the Dr Phillips Center (5 minute walk) for a play. The bartenders are always friendly and the drinks never disappoint. Last time I tried the Studio 54, and it was right up my alley. It's been a year since I was here last. The first time I went, the food and drinks were great but the service was really subpar. Wasn't greeted when we sat at the bar and the bartender just stared blankly at us. I wanted to give it another try since the food was good the last time around. Since I was downtown getting some paperwork in order, I stopped by and ordered a salad using their kiosk system. The space was still cute and very Instagrammable, and there were people enjoying lunch and working from their laptops. I got my salad to-go but decided sit down and eat it instead. To my dismay, the salad was not fresh. The lettuce used was old and started turning brown around the edges. Like, really? Very disappointing. The Robinson Cocktail lounge has a fun and exciting interior. I went on a Friday night and this place gets busy and crowded. I was with several of my girl friends celebrating one of their birthdays. This was maybe not the best crowd for an all girl's thing. It was very male heavy with these guys looking to flirt. It's also a very mixed age crowd. If that's what your looking for, that's great, if not, you might want to reconsider. The drinks were good, we all did a Johnny tea shot which was delicious and I got the Saturn drink while I was here. The Saturn was fruity and sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I knocked off a star in my review because one, it was very crowded, but felt like it didn't have the right interior to be that crowded and also because it took the bartenders forever to take my order. A couple of my friends went up together they were served fairly quickly. One friend and I go up together, she gets served right away, and I think it was 7-10 minutes before another bartender talked to me again. But good drinks, just not my ideal atmosphere. What a hotspot! This is a great daytime coffee & lunch cafe option downtown. It's a bright airy space with beautiful boho decor and even some fun swings. I came here with the intention of coworking with some of my colleagues and I was surprised by how busy it was already at 10am on a Friday morning. There were very limited seating options available, but we managed to score two of the small round tables near the marble riser/bench thingy... wasn't the most comfortable but it got the job done. We ordered fancy cereal milk lattes, arugula salad, beef empanadas, super nova lox toast, and the turkey avocado handheld. Everything was just ok for the price, but the real star of the show was their truffle parmesan sidewinder fries with thyme aioli -- AMAZING! I was also pleasantly surprised by their beautiful pastry case stocked full of goodies like croissants, pop tarts, decadent cookies, banana nut loafs, brownies, and more. I would definitely return for the coffee & pastries. They also have a bar and serve cocktails, so maybe next time I'll opt for the espresso martini instead. Cute little cafe/bar in Downtown Orlando. You would never guess there's a nightclub upstairs! In the day, they sell coffee and cocktails on the bottom with a limited food menu. I appreciate the QR codes when you don't want to order physically, you can order and pay through your phone. The drinks are good but man! They are so expensive. A drink ranges at least $13 a cocktail. The cafe is clean and has a bunch of decor to look at it so it will keep your eyes busy. I would definitely come here to relax. read more

We have visited the Robinson room before and thought it was a great place to dance and get drinks for a night out, but we won't be coming back after our last experience. Recently, we visited - wanting to enjoy the location as we had before and were stopped by the bouncer because my partner was wearing flip flops. This is Orlando, not Miami nightlife. It's also 80 degrees most nights? What do you expect. There is absolutely no dress code on the Robinson Room website / social media & women often wear sandals / heels out. We won't be coming back to pay for overpriced drinks and treatment as if this is some high class bar. The Robinson room will forever have a special place in my heart. We came here after our wedding with 30 people. Oliver and Hannah took amazing care of us. We booked 3 tables in the disco room. Hannah gave my husband and I her number if we needed anything throughout the night we texted her and she brought it immediately. I am thrilled with the service they gave us from start to finish. The cafe side of this restaurant downstairs has hands down the best espresso martini in Orlando. I love to come here and read a book or remote work from one of their couches during the day. I've visited The Robinson coffee room on a Friday morning! It was pretty busy with most people working remotely. This place is extremely spacious with lots of seating, tables, and outlets. I ordered their Iced Robinson Latte which is their espresso, Amaretto syrup, and chocolate/mocha sauce. This was good and sweet! I also ordered their cinnamon roll but it was really dry to me, so next time I'd either opt out of getting their pastry or try something else. Service was friendly and it was just a dope atmosphere. While waiting for my flight after a cruise, I took time to explore Orlando. Zooming down the street on a scooter, the aesthetic and curb appeal of The Robinson caught me eye and made me quickly park to go in.
