We had so much fun here! Dropped $50 on tokens and were told we were guaranteed 5 plushies. I've been to many claw arcades and this is the first that has a "guaranteed" policy. We ended up winning 4 plushies from playing machines and were able to pick 1 more from any machine to hit our 5. We then traded those in for larger prizes from their selection. Service was very friendly and the machines are clean and in great shape. Kawaii House isn't huge but we found more than enough interesting things to play. Me and my son came here spontaneously because I was at a red light and saw the claw machine from a far... so I decided to take a look. Spent $20 on 20 plus coins. The Customer service was amazing. The gentlemen working told me that it's a guarantee 2 plushy win, if not we can keep trying or just let him know what one we want. My son had a hard time getting a plushy he's only 4, but the gentlemen came by and set up the plushy for him to make it easier so My son could win. This is one of my favorite spots to check when I'm in the area! I love the variety of blind boxes, plushies, pins, and other miscellaneous goods they have here. They have pretty fair prices for their blind boxes, and it seems like they refresh their stock to keep up with what's new and in demand! I personally haven't tried their claw machines, but I really like the fact that they have a "bank" system where you can win a couple from the machine and cash those in for a bigger prize behind the counter. The biggest con of this location is the parking as the spaces are quite small and it can be a challenge to get a good spot, but there's a couple of other places nearby to park and walk over if needed. read more

Saturday, 3-28-2026: This is such an adorable store with its plushies of Hello Kitty, My Melody and other popular assorted characters adorning the shelves and the top of booths. It's bright, colorful, and nicely organized. This is definitely a child's (and some adults, too!) happy place with illuminated booths containing prizes that could be captured by use of a claw mechanism. There are display shelves of an array of trinkets, accessories, and toys. I picked up a couple of novelty pens & stickers for my grandson and a Hello Kitty keychain for my niece. I came to check this place out and it honestly gives off a cool Japan vibe super fun spot to bring the kids. You play the machines, win prizes, and they even let you upgrade your prizes with the smaller ones you win, which they explain once you ask. The whole experience feels nostalgic but also kind of futuristic at the same time with the manual machines, which you don't really see much anymore. I LOOOOOVE KAWAII HOUSE!!!! I came here over the weekend for a children's birthday party (there is no reservation system to host parties, just show up), and it was such a good time!! I honestly feel like their claws aren't total scams like other claw establishments are in the area. There's actually some grip to the claws and payout is pretty frequent. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that they have a 12 prize guarantee if you purchase their largest coin conversion ($100). This means that if you aren't able to get at least 12 prizes in the claw games, they'll give you the option to continue playing until you get the 12 or you can just let them know which plush you wanted. You can also trade in the claw plushies for bigger prizes/plushies like ginormous Labubus!! You're also able to ask the employees to rearrange the prizes so they're easier to grab for the kids. I honestly feel like the plushes have been higher quality lately so I definitely feel like this is my favorite place to play claw machines in SD!! Disappointed this round my husband and I stopped into kawaii house. We have been coming for months with how happy we have been with the variety and customer service at this location. We have spoken with the owner/manager on multiple visits and he has never had an issue with us taking tokens home since we usually purchase $100 of tokens at a time. On today's visit, we were told that she remembered us from last time and we weren't suppose to keep the tokens to return to use on another visit. Contradictory to what she said today, our previous trip this same employee had told us we could either turn in our remaining tokens for a larger plushie or keep the tokens and return on another visit to use them. If the policy has changed, I think there could have been a more appropriate response to this change. We opted to just use our remaining tokens today and will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

By far the worst customer service. I always pass this place and decided to give it a try, I made a phone call to ask about having labubus and nobody answered. So I decided to go in & assume the cashier was busy, my friend and I walk in to no greeting no offering of help. Just a cashier stuck to her phone hiding behind a token machine. The one person working (I don't think we got her name) was really cool and made sure we had a great experience at the arcade. They have literally so much stuff and the lineup is pretty solid. Came here on a weekday evening, not too busy, a few other small groups filtered in and out while we were there. It's a small spot, so it can fill up pretty quickly. You can get your tokens at the kiosk by the entrance, or at the counter towards the middle of the shop. The back is a full of cute kawaii/sanrio merchandise. With that said, the ladies behind the counter were so friendly and extremely helpful. There's a method to these claw machines, and they give you all the tips and tricks. If they see you struggling with a specific machine, they will help you and make sure you get your prize. While there are some cute prizes and the whole place is super cute overall, the prize selection is somewhat limited. As with any claw place, it can get pricey, but it's up to you how much you're willing to spend on tokens. Super friendly staff who moved some stuffies around for my kids to grab with the claws. They also have items you can just buy like plushies, pens, notebooks, stationary items. Very cutely themed, but parking is very limited. It's not bad now because the other businesses are closed, but it will be difficult when they reopen. We stopped at this place because my kids love claw machines and it had great reviews. When we arrived another mom was there with her daughter and she mentioned how it was impossible to win. My kids became super frustrated with the machines, and it wasn't until the cashier gave them extra coins that one of them won on their last try. While they operate on an "everyone gets a prize regardless" policy, it would be nice to win them versus being given them. It's also a lot smaller than expected. Small parking lot but because the other business weren't open it was easy to find a spot. When other business open in this center it will be tough to park. No street parking. They have a policy that if you spend $10 you are guaranteed a small prize if you don't win anything on the machine. People's reviews talk about how helpful staff are in trying to win prizes by offering tips/positioning but we did not experience that. You can exchange your dollars to coins at the counter or a machine. All the large claw games are two coins each ($2) and are difficulty medium or hard. The small/tiny machines are 1 coin ($1) and are labeled easy. The small machine's claw doesn't close at all, so these are near impossible to win. I saw a few others try them and no one won from them during my time there. Some machines had very few plushies in them, one only had two items. Not sure how often things get restocked. Took my kid and spent $10 in about 10 minutes. Luckily the kiddo won something near the end so we didn't have to find out what the pity prize was. They have a cute photo area with plushies on the wall where you can sit and take a photo with your prize winnings (if any). I don't really think it's worth the money, better off just letting them pick a plush to purchase or going to that boba place that has the plush in the cup for kids. This place is more suited to adults that have some skill who take their claw games seriously. read more

Kawaii House was definitely the house of Kawaii! (Kawaii means cute in Japanese) so that's the wording I'm going for here. This place is all magic vibes when you walk in. Pastel colors, exciting well lit claw machines and super friendly staff members!! They also have a section where you could buy some popmart collectibles so I'm sure a lot of people appreciate that! We played every claw machine and ya know... we just weren't winning here. Haha. Which is totally fine but it was a little discouraging. We usually win everywhere!! But hey, this place kept us on our toes. The plushies in these claw machines are really adorable and they did have a big selection. Things seemed fairly placed in the claw machines... they just weren't bringing the prize over to the prize slot. We still had fun though!! Playing claw machines doesn't guarantee a win - it's just we've been playing claw machines at places that we've been winning at for so long- we had higher expectations haha but that's not Kawaii House's fault. So hey, maybe this place is a bit on the advanced side of claw machines. We'll call it that! The pricing was pretty fair and we did spend a good amount of time in here trying to win. Stumbled upon this small mom n pop claw machine shop, I figured why not, since I was already in the area. Greeted nicely by the Chinese lady in the cashier. Played a couple but didn't win anything until she stepped up and gave me a few hints, she asked which do I want to win, fixed the stuff toy inside and Bam I won! Not only that she even gave me free tokens to try again on my own and won another!! Customer Service by that nice lady is 10/10!!! Now, I wish they have a bigger place and got more choices.
