It was a little deceiving at first, because the parking lot looked a little empty (some of the other store fronts surrounding it looked empty too). I was happy to find it tucked around the corner. When you walk it, they have a little grocery area and the pastry counter. As you walk past the grocery aisles, you can find the restaurant seating area, which is a pretty big space. I was a bit short on time, so I chose some empanadas and some pastries to go. I tried the chicken, beef, and ham & cheese, which were all delicious. I got this pastry with a fruit similar to guava, which I devoured as well. The staff was super helpful and very patient with me and my indecisiveness. Amazing decor inside. We ordered the 1776 Sea salt toffee coffee and vanilla Chai tea with oat milk. Gosh what a nice treat! 1776 was smooth, comforting and delicious . Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. We ordered three drinks: a cappuccino, an iced honey lavender latte, and an iced dirty chai (decaf). First, the drinks were mislabeled -- the honey lavender latte was marked as decaf, but it was actually the dirty chai that was decaf. This led to confusion, but more importantly, the flavors were off. I've enjoyed the hot versions of the dirty chai and honey lavender latte many times before, but these iced versions tasted nothing like what I'm used to from other locations. The cappuccino was okay, and the place itself looked nice. The staff member we interacted with was friendly, which I appreciate. But sadly, the drinks just didn't deliver the same quality or taste I've come to love from Grounds for Coffee.
