They successfully managed, with minimal cost to the owner, a HVAC failure during a difficult time, in a wildfire smoke and covid nightmare. This as well as respectfully dealing with a distant home owner, who was experiencing more sever local wildfires themselves far away. If an owner is reading this, I recommend using Carmen's excellent connection with the experts to save money by doing the job right. Her tact and diplomacy and well earned respect in the community of repair professionals, present a case study of professionalism. The best thing about the wonderful, beautifully renovated home I'm renting is Carmen's professional management. Seeking an Allen wrench, wallboard joint compound and a fine grain sandpaper wedge to repair old nail holes in my wall, a worker noticed me searching the aisles and immediately offered help. Within minutes I had what I came in for and then spent another 10 minutes walking around to check out the inventory. Need a new kitchen faucet? Paint supplies? Hardware for doors, picture hanging, dressers? Cabinets and tiles to remodel a bathroom or kitchen? Garden and yard tools and BBQs? Lighting, plumbing and electrical supplies? Even plants, vegetables, soil, seeds and ceramic pots of your garden in their small garden area out front.. They have have a little of everything and a lot of some things! And of course lumber. I've passed by so many times while visiting Hood River, but always assumed it was a lumber supply store for construction, not open to retail. And never realized they were also a hardware store. Located right off exit 65 on I-84 it's super convenient and they have a large parking lot. Yum-A-Lum is now my go-to place for all of my fix-it needs!
