I've used Bell Design Company for a few years. - They provided complete & accurate analyses of things like water and soil. - Their advice has been helpful & correct. - Their designs are thorough, insightful & catered to my needs. - They're adept at warning & managing the entire myriad of regulatory issues. - They've successfully selected, hired and managed contractors. - They've been easy to work with and always listened carefully and adjusted their plans to match my changes. - They sometimes didn't have the bandwidth to respond as quickly as I would like but they appear to have fixed that now. I apologize, this is long but reading this will save you money!!! DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS!!! Denise was very nice, probably the only good asset this company has. I was quoted $500 for an engineering certificate (no big deal). I was using a VA loan to buy a house so the VA requires a water test by a 3rd party. I went to the county utilities department in White Salmon to pick up the two small vials for the test. They informed me the cost would be $50, due when the vials were returned (no big deal). Bell stated their engineer could do the test during the inspection. When Bell sent me the contract, the price jumped from $500 to $675. I called and spoke to "Dev" and asked about the additional charges. He stated "that's for the water test, picking up the containers and the cost of dropping them off". I let him know I've already picked up the vials and they are ready at the house, I also informed him the cost to turn them in is only $50 (he knew this already), so I was just curious where the extra $125 was coming from. He said, "that's just for..(short pause while he figured out what to say).....that's what I'm charging". I said, "I'm just trying to figure out what exactly I'm being billed for, is it $125 to fill two tiny vials of water?" He said, "yes and you're welcome to get someone else to do it". Again I asked, "sir, I'm just trying to understand what the charges are for". Dev cut me off in the middle of my sentence and said, "you can go find someone else to do it" and he hung up on me. EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude, all because I had the crazy notion of simply asking what I was being billed for. I ended up using Tenneson in The Dalles. MUCH friendlier, MUCH more professional, and I was fairly charged $592. read more
