Rob was recommended to me, and I am so very grateful he was! He and his team were super responsive and scheduled a service for me right away - this was crucial since I was having other work done in the bathroom (whole new paint job). They removed an overhead light from the ceiling and put a new one on the wall above the sink - it looks so nice! They also recommended to install a vent so that the new paint job I was getting wouldn't peel from the shower steam (the house is very old so didn't have any ventilation in the bathroom). Called them with a small electrical problem. We were due to go away so needed it looking at. They came the same day, on time, and quickly identified the problem and fixed it. They charge a standard hourly rate and said while they were there (and the repair only took 10-15 minutes) could they look at anything else for us. They then fixed a couple of dodgy outlets, installed a programmable switch for an outside light, and looked at a light for us. The guys explained everything they did, were polite, and I'll be using them for any electrical work I need in the future. I've had trouble (like many other people) finding good, reliable electricians, plumbers, etc. but now I know Bright Ideas are a call away. read more

So this was an interesting project and review. I needed him to install a new electric service line into my condo. Redo the entire kitchen and bathroom electrical too. It started off great with him giving me the cheaper quotes compared to everyone else. Than when he actually started to do the work was where the issues happened. First he has a poor time communicating his plans with the property manager. Where I ran into issues on him being in the attic. But the worst part was not the work itself which is why he gets 2 stars but his inability to tell me the price of things that need to be done. When he showed up he than re quotes me saying 'you need 3 kitchen sockets' When it wasnt in the original quote. Than when we're about to finish the job he says 'K I need to charge you extra to do the kitchen fan' The best was when we ALMOST DIDNT pass our electrical inspection. If we were on the first floor the recessed lights he put in wouldnt have passed because they were not graded at a higher level. He just had this dazed face on him about not knowing something like this. Even though I told him about all aspects of the project from the beginning. Next thing I know his price is now 1k higher than before. Really regret going with an outside contractor. Will stick with the general contractor sub people. read more

Generally, I'm not a fan of calling and talking to contractors, but Rob's polite and personable manner put me at ease about the situation and we quickly set up an appointment to have him come check out our problem. When he arrived, Rob got right to work investigating the situation, but also initiated and engaged in light conversation, including with our 3-year old daughter, who was fascinated by "Rob the fixing guy" in our home.
