I usually don't leave negative feedback, but I think this company is trying to take advantage of victims of Hurricane Ida. We were hit hard with 4+ feet of water in the basement. Xpert Electric was really responsive and sent someone quickly to do an assessment which cost $159. Then once the sheetrock was ripped up they came to do a second assessment for another $70. Finally to redo the wiring in our basement, they gave me an estimate that seemed ridiculous. Even though I needed power immediately I told them I needed a day to think about it. I researched online and the price was way out of line. I believe they assumed our insurance is paying and jacked up the price (like most people affected insurance isn't paying anything). I contacted another local electric company that had great reviews on Yelp and Facebook groups: Grounded Electric. They gave a free assessment and their final cost is not even one third the cost of Xpert Electric. read more

A few years ago I hired Xpert Electric to rewire our house because we had old knob and tube wiring. They did a good job, EXCEPT that while installing some recessed lights in the living room, they sawed through the ceiling and the floor of the bedroom above, leaving a gash in the floor of that second-floor bedroom. I actually thought this was perhaps an honest mistake and something likely to happen to any other electrician doing a similar job, but I now think that they are just careless when they work. Last week I brought them back to install an new outlet in my dining room thinking that there was a low probability of damage. However, while making the hole for the new outlet, Henry sawed through the wall and made a gash in the siding on the outside of the house (!). I know he noticed that he had sawed through the wall, because I saw him go outside and at the time I wondered what he was getting from outside (it was really cold). He never pointed out the damage to or apologized for it. For these reasons I can't recommend them. One thing I just want to add, partly in response to Xpert Electric's answer and also for the benefit of other homeowners out there, is that gashes in 100-year-old wood flooring are not fixable. You can't swap out the broken boards with new ones, because you can't get that flooring anymore, and even if you could, it would never match the flooring that has aged in place in the house. The only thing my flooring guy was able to do was fill in the gash with wax, but it takes a real artist to make that wax match the grain of the wood, and unfortunately I have not yet found anyone who can do that well. That's all to say that the couple of hundred dollars of credit that Xpert gave me on a $23k job for sawing through my floor doesn't even come close to the actual cost of the damage that they did, because that damage can't really be repaired. I appreciate their latest offer to "fix" the most recent hole through my wall, but I don't want them to ever touch my house again. The least they can do is remove me from their ridiculous subscription service and lose my number. read more

They seemed to be extremely YOUNG (like teenagers) and that shouldn't be an issue but these guys seemed like they needed help. Great service!! Very easy to schedule, change or add jobs. Schedule and pay thru online. You get texts when they are on the way and reminders. I got to know Henry and Michael pretty well in 3 days they did 3 different jobs for me. Initially hired them to add ceilings lights to 4 bedrooms but then unexpectedly added rewiring the entire 2nd floor from knob and tube wiring. They added 3 new lines (2 for the bedrooms and 1 for the attic) 16 new outlets and added 4 ceiling lights and 4 switches. Also fixed a small thing in my condo that I will be renting. this is a neutral review. seemingly a nice guy. they charge you a per visit fee so even if they don't fix anything you will still have to pay that. fine. he wants you to trust his work which seems like a reasonable ask. however, for a ceiling fan replacement, he wanted to charge me once for the diagnosis for the exact problem and then a second time for the installation of the fan. mind you a per visit fee is about $100. I asked for an all in price and he was offended that I didn't want to be billed multiple times for the same job and to install a ceiling fan? He said that he couldn't work under the "circumstances" and told me to find someone else to finish the job. He was reasonable enough to not charge me for the diagnosis visit for which nothing was fixed but he had issue with my pointing out the multiple visit fee. I'll let you decide. read more

They answered our phone call right away, truly asked several questions in order to get the right idea about what was going on, and we set up an appointment for the following day. We had to change the time and they were very accommodating and PUNCTUAL. They arrived right when they said they would. I am usually the one writing complaint reviews, but this is the total opposite. Thank God for Xavier! The previous electrician, who was supposed to fix stuff totally messed up my electricity. He changed so many connections to 220 by mistake. I toasted a vacuum cleaner in an outlet, blew up half-a-dozen light bulbs in three different fixtures, etc. We had no idea what was wrong! Xavier corrected the problem! Xavier also replaced the white outlets that the other electrician set into the wood with brown ones that looked much better.
