I got married back in 2013 and our original jeweler moved to Cali. I am quite a loyal customer. Loyal to the point where I don't look at any other jeweler even when I desperately need a new one. I'm pretty ridiculous I know... But after kids enter the picture, I couldn't squeeze my fat finger into my wedding ring...for two solid years. I'm one of those moms who puts herself last on the totem pole of family priorities so stumbling across KB Jewelers was probably by destiny. haha. The universe was screaming that it was time and not to procrastinate any longer. The owner, Koko was phenomenal. He greets you with a smile and makes you feel comfortable right from the start. He's not pushy and really listens to what you are shopping for. He stays true to your search and ironically even when you are trying to save money, you find yourself coming back for additional jeweler needs. (I had my ring resized, bought a new tungsten band, put a new battery in my watch). KB Jewelers also goes above and beyond with communication (email/phone/in person) and will even deliver some of your pieces to you if needed. This business is one I will definitely recommend to my friends and wedding clients because of the wonderful attention to detail, quick service, fair prices and friendly staff. I rarely leave reviews but I have had such a great experience with a local jeweler that I wanted to send out a commendation. In these difficult times small pleasures are so welcome and KB Jewelers delivered several. With my arthritic fingers I had not been able to wear my mother's diamond ring for over a year and my own diamond ring was almost attached to my finger. I had had a few repairs done by Koko at KB and had been very happy with them. So I gathered up my courage to show him my dilemma. He gave me a price to clean up the whole problem. The price was more than fair and way below what other jewelers had quoted me over the past few years. He cut my ring off my finger without an amputation (and it was pain free) and looked the situation over. Both rings have very thick bands. He had to add at least 1/4 inch to each band and while he was at it he replaced all the prongs and inset the diamond into the thickest band ring so that it didn't take such a beating. It was a lot of gold that he had to use to make these rings bigger. I was floored when I picked my rings up. They were more beautiful than they were originally. He and his staff also made sure that they were ready for me to wear to my granddaughter's wedding. He is a true artist of gold and diamonds. (and he doesn't judge you if you don't know what you're doing or if you have any problems with your hands.) I stopped in for a tennis bracelet repair a few days ago and he showed me that the bracelet didn't need a repair and he cleaned it for me and taught me how to double lock the clasp. Koko is the best! My fiance and I had a ring that his grandmother left behind and we wanted so badly to use it. It was a dainty 5.5 and we needed 9.75. Originally, we were thinking we'd just size it up and add material where we could but there was concern of its longevity. Koko was able to use all of the original materials and recreated the same ring but custom made to my fiance's needs. It is perfect! We couldn't ask for a better ring. As picky as my fiance is, I thought we'd never find something he is completely satisfied with but thanks to Koko we did. Fantastic work and exceptional service! I'm not a big jewelry person, I admit. But for our 10th wedding anniversary and my 39th birthday combined, I wanted to get something special to celebrate. My daughter's birthday is in September so my husband and I started to look for a sapphire ring. Since we only knew the stores you would see at the mall, that's where we went first, only to leave dissatisfied with the quality and the unreasonably large price tag. It was this random walk in Northville downtown that led us to KB and Koko was amazing from Day 1. One of the reasons why I don't like to wear rings is because the stones normally protrude too much for me. He assured me he'll work on that for my ring. He was also very understanding that I wanted a nice sapphire but not necessarily the over-the-top quality surrounding diamonds or platinum for my ring. He was very clear about the timeline which made the wait bearable although it helped that I wasn't really in a hurry anyways. I was so happy to see my ring as it was everything that I wanted my first sapphire ring to be. It is simply stunning.
